Re: Random JoA Stuff...

joanofarcadia.com is moving to a new server and it also says they're gonna have a new design. Wonder if they're gonna revamp the content of the site too. It's pretty much the only JoA site that's still active, right? At least the message board on that site.

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

Wow, my IMDb friend, Lola found this cache of gorgeous pics of Mary Steenburgen and ex-hubby Malcolm McDowell's beautiful son, Charlie.  There are some pics of Mac & Mary in there as well as some of their beautiful daughter, Lily too.  TeeJay, if you can find a way to snag these, let me know.  I've been looking of pics of these people for such a long time and some of them are so cute, I'd  love to have them.

Meant to mention that apparently, Charlie dated Haley Duff.  Wonder if they met on the JoA set when he was visiting his mom...

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

Every now and then I buy something that looks kinda Adamy. If this was a guy's t-shirt (and maybe a more subdued color), I can totally see Adam wearing it. smile

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

The shirt looks cool, but I can't imagine Adam wearing that color. Maybe if it was black or darkgreen, that would be cool.

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

joanofarcadia.com is back up. Looks like they're still adding stuff like episode guide and media, but the forum is back and the site's gotten a make-over. If you were previously a member of the forum, I think you need to re-register. I'm really glad they're still putting work into the site. While it's not the greatest fansite out there, it's still wonderful that even after three years, fans are still dedicated to the show.

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

I stopped going there since I read that they had some German person to write something about the German voices and that person said "spot on" to Adam's voice. roll I might give it a new try, though.

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

I don't know if God gets sick.  Sounds unlikely though, doesn't it?   I saw this thing on Facebook:  "I fear that one day I'll meet God.  He'll sneeze.  And I won't know what to say."   So I started wondering what Joan would say.

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

Gesundheit would be a safer answer, but Joan always tripped over her words with God, so I would have to go with Deb on this one, that sounds exactly like what she would have said.

Joan: So, my true nature is to be a catalyst? That is mad anti-climatic.
God: Anti climactic. Anti-climatic means you're against the weather.

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

Did you know that "Gesundheit" is German and means "health"? That's why I was asking if God could get sick, in case that didn't make any sense to anyone.

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

I knew it was German, I just didn't know what it was German for.   Shows how much I remember from the one semester I took of German in junior high...

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

So the Americans say "Gesundheit" too? That's cool! LOL
I remember when I watched the movie Patch Adams, there was also something with Gesundheit and we wondered if they would use that word too. You know, like Kindergarten, which is also German.

Yes, I've heard it being used in the US, but not very often. And the times I did hear it, the pronunciation was remarkably correct. tongue

Yeah, I was curious about the US, because I never heard it when I was in Great Britain or Ireland. They say Bless you.

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

I have heard both regularly, in fact I think I use both (can't vouch for the pronunciation though).

Joan: So, my true nature is to be a catalyst? That is mad anti-climatic.
God: Anti climactic. Anti-climatic means you're against the weather.

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

I use both and I don't say "God" bless you.  Just "bless you".  Not my place to foist God on someone who may not want to hear it.  I don't mind it when people say it to me if it's sincere.  That's very nice.  It just doesn't feel right when I say it.

Same here.  Only sometimes my "bless you" comes out "liss ya" :embarrassed:
