Re: Randomness

I have had such a stressful day. Knocked out the internet whilst trying to get it on my new ps3 (which i still havn't done yet), and only got it back at 8pm at night. I've been trying all day on a weekend i was looking foward, only to find out the solution was something simple.

and now i have to go to a christening tomorrow. One of many a year for our family. And my cousin is engaged at 17. What a wonderful weekend. lol

Re: Randomness

Maybe it's because I have friends who were actually married when they were 17, but I'm kinda failing to see how your cousin getting engaged is bad.  Yeah, they should probably wait but if that's what they want that's what they want.

Re: Randomness

Well it's not really bad, it's just more expected. No one sees it lasting though. The've only known each other for a few months, and every few months, she has a new boyfriend. I could work out between them, but with her still at school and him without a job, i don't think they will stay interested in eachother. But that's just my opinion.

Re: Randomness

A good friend from university married his wife after they had known each other for a year. And I think she was his very first girlfriend ever. They weren't 17 (more like 30), but we still all wondered if it was going to last. Now, three years later, and they're still happily together. Another friend of mine just married a guy last month she had only known for a few months (they're in their mid-thirties). I really hope that lasts too. But I guess it's different when you're 17. Life just seems so different at that age. Of course it doesn't have to mean a marriage at 17 can't last, of course it can. I hope your friend is doing the right thing, Simon.

Re: Randomness

It's been a rough couple days, but we're all still holding in as good as we possibly can.

Yesterday was her funeral service, we were all total wrecks... especially her mom, Shawn and her ex, Dan.  Liam laughed basically the whole time, when you hear that kid laugh you can't help laughing but I think everyone really just wanted to cry for him... he has no idea what's happened.

Well, my brother married his girlfriend from Cameroun yesterday and they have known each other for only 14 days last year when he was there. My mom keeps telling us she has a bad feeling about it, but he has to make his own experiences.

Re: Randomness

Guess so. Saw them today at the christening and it's not a secret that his mother isn't happy about it.

I suppose everyone just have to wait a see what happens.

Did anybody see Letterman's take on the very brief suspension of the Mccain campaign?  Funny stuff.

Turns out Lincoln's flashlight was very primative and rudimentary.  It was made of wax and string.:P

Got an estimate to install a starter. $280 total, plus towing. So about $350.

Ouch, that hurts. I hate sudden costs that you didn't really plan for. Hope your car stays "healthy" for a long time after that.

Re: Randomness

This is why I lease.  With a car, you're gonna get hosed one way or another.  I prefer my hosing on a regular monthly basis, rather than sudden huge hosings out of the blue.

They're throwing me out of the library.  I don't have time to sign in for another 30-minute session before they close.  Hope I have power (and at least news of cable/internet resumption) soon.  Tomorrow or Wednesday would be nice.
