.. via Google, how else? I first googled Chris just few months ago and I've wandered off to this webpage several times after that due to finding him in new movies, wanting to find him in new roles and just plain attraction to this site. It's so well done. Who made it? Have you made any other sites? I didn't think to log in here until now. I haven't really been around English forums before. Now I just thought of checking it out. It was nice that TeeJay and sisterdebmac invited me at Imdb.
So here's my introduction.
My name is Maria and I'm from Finland. The nights here are starting to turn cold and I like to warm myself by wrapping my self in warm things and drinking hot chococappuccino. I like to read but I must confess, I like movies and TV more. I watch way too much of TV. It's just that due to having three kids of my own, when I finally get them to bed in the evening I'm way too stressed out to concentrate on a book. So I just watch what I've recorded for few hours to unwind enough to get to sleep. I'm a bit insomniac. Music relaxes me a lot, I usually have some kind of music playing through out the day, just on the background. Sometimes I like to dance too. My taste in music is just as wide as it is in movies.
What else would you like to know about me?
Oh yeah, my latest development: I became a Dorquette.
Oh sorry, am I aloud to call my self that? I just noticed you have levels and I'm only a newbie, not yet a Dorquette. I quess I better get busy to live up to that statement. I meant I became a fan. It's not like I'm a zip-faced teenager that drools over every hot young actor. I'm actually very picky. I've actually always been a little ashamed to admit I'm a fan of someone. It's so... teenager.

Hey there, Maria, and a warm welcome to our board. I'm so glad you joined. You're officially the first Scandinavian on this board (that we know of). Whoohoo!
Now, let me answer your questions. Who made the site? We all did, as in Anne (Samsy-Marie), Deb (Sisterdebmac) and I. However, I am largely responsible for the programming and design of it.
Have I made other sites? Yes, I have, but none of them are really active anymore. They were mostly sites about shows I liked, like The Pretender, or Early Edition. But that's years ago, and when a show gets cancelled or ends, it's hard to maintain a site about it any longer. So right now the Chris site is the only site I still run. It's enough work as it is!
I used to have a page about myself, but I'd rather not post the link becaue the information on it is years old now. :embarrassed: Actually, I also designed a page for a friend of mine who restores clocks, but it's just a small one. I did the site for our choir too, but they integrated it to their churche's site a while ago. Suffice to say, I think the Chris site is probably the only one of interest to you.
It sounds like your kids are keeping you busy, I perfectly understand the need to unwind in front of the TV with a nice and hot cappuccino. Sounds perfect! I watch a lot of TV as well, mostly US shows. If you check out our Square Eyes section on the message board, you'll find that most of us are TV and movie junkies too.
You can be a Dorquette in your heart, but on the forum you'll only become one when you hit 1000 posts. So post away! We have a few people who've reached that status so far, Laura even made it to Supreme Dorquette. And don't worry about feeling a little like a star-struck teenager, we all get that every now and then. We have a lot of grown-up people here who are die-hard fans in the sense that you are. I dare say our most regular posters (except for Laura and Mel) are well past the age range of 20, we do have a few people who have a 3 and a 4 as the first number of their age. I'm not mentioning names.
Last question: You can use as an avatar whatever you like. Your own eye is perfectly fine, it doesn't have to be a picture of Chris.
You're free to geek around with us and post whatever you like. Look around, check out all the awesome stuff we have. I recommend the Questionnaire thread in Introduce Yourself that you might wanna complete.
You might also explode with jealousy to hear that we're meeting Chris in person next Monday. Anne, Deb and I are flying out to LA for vacation, and he's agreed to meet with us over lunch. If you have a question you always wanted to ask him, post it right here and we'll try to ask him.

Thank you for making me feel so welcome.
Funny being the only Scandinavian. I'm used to bumping into them everywhere in the Web.
I LOVED Early edition and Pretender too. I was thinking about maybe looking them up somewhere and seeing some episodes again. And the male leads still bring me that nice feeling when I recognize them in something else. I too watch mostly US shows. Honestly, I think most our domestic shows are embarrassing. Lately I've fell for couple of UK shows as well. Life on Mars is great.
It sounds cool. Everything that you have going on here and meeting Chris. I really am a bit jealous. Or maybe not. I'm a little shy so I'd probably act all 'dorky fan' if I were in your place. Or it would probably feel so surreal I'd act nothing like myself! I can't think of any good questions for Chris right now but I can't wait to hear/read how it went. How did you get in touch with him?

Has Michael T. Weiss even done anything since Pretender? It feels like he just vanished off the (acting) earth. Kyle Chandler is great, I loved seeing him on Grey's Anatomy. I know he's also done other shows since then, but I have not seen those. I think Deb's into his baseball show. And Anne is gonna love you for being a fan of Life on Mars.
How did it happen that we got in touch with Chris? It's kind of a long story. I was visiting Deb in Atlanta on vacation in October 2006. We had just opened our website and then we found out he was shooting Revenge of the Nerds in Atlanta during the time I was there. We managed to find out where they were shooting and just went there. With a bit of luck, we managed to capture Chris's attention and he came to us and immediately gave us a hug. It was so sweet. He was really great and made sure we could stay on the set the whole day and watch them shooting. Twice he spent 20 minutes with us to give us our first interview with him for the site during shooting breaks. At the end of the day he had to leave in a hurry, but not before we got pics taken and a few things signed. You can read all about it on the website, it's in the About Chris section under Meeting Chris. Here's Deb and me with "our" guy:
But that's not all. Deb met him again at the FX Show convention in January 2007 where he was promoting his movie Fanboys. He gave her another interview for the site. When we asked him for his manager's contact details for some material for the site, he wrote down a number. We called it a few weeks later, only to find out the scatterbrain had written down his own number. D'oh! LOL And I swear, he didn't mean to do it! So Deb left him a message on his voicemail, saying that we'd still like to get his manager's number because we were looking for some nice publicity shots for the website. Two weeks later Chris e-mails us via the website, telling us that we can ask him directly by e-mail if we need anything for the site. And that's how it's been since then.
When we knew we were all gonna be in LA together, we got in touch and he agreed to meet with us on Oct 6. Can't wait! As it so happens, we're also in touch with his mom, who e-mailed us shortly after we opened the site, telling us that she loved it. We get some goodies from her from time to time too. It's really been a great experience.

Oh yes, she is! LOL
Life on Mars is the greatest British TV show I've ever seen! (Yeah, because I've seen so many. LOL)
I'm already so exited about Oct 6.

Wow sounds exciting. I can imagine how anxious you are waiting for this week to pass. Absolutely amazing. I'm turning green....of envy..
I saw Michael T Weiss in some Crossing Jordan episodes. He had a really good role in that one. I can't recall any others all the sudden. Some small movies I guess. Check the Imdb. I loved Kyle Chandler in Grey's too. I couldn't believe they killed he's character off. He looked so young and energetic and the eyes, oh the eyes. With his football series I got the same thing as I did with JoA when it was in Finnish TV. I just couldn't see all the episodes and didn't get into it. So I stropped watching all together.. Waiting for the reruns. Maybe I'll get to it better then...

I haven't seen many of them either. There's been a lot of UK series in Finnish tv but I just couldn't stand the dialect... until I saw Holiday and fell for Jude Law's way to speak.. Also before I didn't like how in English series everything looks old. Now I like it. In Life on Mars it's kind of the point!

Been busy today trying to tie up work stuff so I can leave tomorrow for LA.
Yes, I love Kyle Chandler's FOOTBALL show, Friday Night Lights. He is adorable in it! And he gets to speak with a southern accent, which is great for me. Kyle lived in Georgia for a while when he was young so his southern accent is quite natural, unlike what you hear from most people on TV. So all the girlies drool over the hot young guys on FNL and there I am drooling over Coach! LOL!
Maria, there's a thread on the All About Chris board called "We're Going To LA!" that has more details about our trip. We're meeting more JoA people than just Chris.

Sorry, Deb, I guess I kinda figured it was a baseball show because you seemed really into it. Shows how much I know about American sports.

I really don't like football at all. But I'll watch football movies. And this show's so good it could even be about badminton and I'd watch.

I've mentioned my partner many time in my today's posts so I'm bursting to tell you more since the words partner and bf don't really give the right impression about him. We have a history of eight years behind us. The anniversary of our first kiss was 08/08/08. It would have been a great date for our wedding but we are in no rush. We just got engaged on mothersday 2007. We bought our own house January 2007. Our kids are turning 7, 4 and 2. So we pretty much handled things like we climbed a tree butt first.
I'll be reffering to my bf as JTT from now on.

I changed my avatar to Chris like everybody else. :dancing: I found this cute still from Just friends. I just love the expression on his face and the way his jawline sticks out. I've always thought that a strong jawline is one of the sexy qualities...

When do you know you're becoming a little too addicted to this site?
This is my 50th post here and I just logged in six days ago! :embarrassed:
Do I need to do some Chris-rehab?
Deb, TJ and Samsy Marie must be thinking: damn, we go for a little trip for few days and BANG! This new chick is taking over the whole damn message board... :embarrassed:
And also.. My JTT saw me reading these posts on the weekend and rolled his eyes. Several times. I quess there's no point in trying to hide it anymore: I've become a hard core fan for the first time in my life.
