Part one: movie theaters

How many times have you been in theaters?

Well under 10, can't remember. Don't remember the movie, but it was in the early 1970's at a drive-in.

What is your all time favorite movie seen in theater?
Star Wars (I remember how long the line was just to get into the theater)

In how many theaters have you been?
Drive-In, and I think 4 regular theaters

Do you find any differences in different theaters? If so, What? (Themes or something?)
2, drive-in and regular

Do you have a favorite theater? Which one?
Since I haven't gone in over 10 years, no.

Do you have a specific type of movies that you just have to see in a theater, not just DVD? Why?
Science Fiction

What does the movie theater-experience mean to you?
When I was younger I really liked it, but now every little thing bothers me big time.

Are you drawn to see the movies that are very popular or most-discussed?
Blockbusters.

What's your mood usually after you leave a theater?
Last time, annoyed.

* * * * *

Part 2: DVD

Do you have a favorite place to rent or buy DVD's? If so, What is so special about it?
Best Buy, great selection. Or amazon.com. I don't rent.

A Quick look at your DVD-stand: what do you see at first?
Which bookcase? What do I see, crammed full. If you're asking about which dvd I see first, Star Trek.

Do you buy a lot of DVD's?
Needless to say, of course I do.

What's your flavor when it comes to DVD's? Horror movies? Drama? TV-series?
Comedy, drama, science fiction, tv series.

What do you do when you have a movie night at home? Snacks and all?
Very basic, pop & either pop-corn or something chocolate.

Do you like to have a lot of company when watching a movie on DVD?
Nope.

Do you have a lot of pauses when you're watching a movie? Does it anoy you to watch with some who wants a lot of pauses?

You don't even want to know.

Do YOU think it's too much?
Probably.

What type of TV-shows you like?

Usually older stuff. Most of the Star Trek series, except for Enterprise. Terminator & Heroes. Want to watch the new Knight Rider, but haven't watched it yet.

Do you like to watch made for TV- movies?
Not really

Do you generally watch a lot of movies on TV?
Unless it's something I don't own yet, no. I don't like to watch movies with commercial breaks or edited for content.

Re: I've got a little questionare about your habbits :D

Yeah, I should propably answer this my self too?

Part one: movie theaters

How many times have you been in theaters?
Um. Maybe about 20 times. About 60% of them during the last ten years.

Do you have an oppinion about movie theaters?

They can be messy but there's always the same great athmosphere. I can feel all the people anticipating a good movie experience.

At what age was your first experience? Remember the movie?
Maybe about 10. I think it was Bethoven 2. it was a school trip.

What is your all time favorite movie seen in theater?
Star Wars episode 1. big_smile

In how many theaters have you been?
Three. The one in my home town (where I grew up), the one in my current home town and the one in the neighbouring town.

Do you find any differences in different theaters? If so, What? (Themes or something?)
These are all pretty small, basic theaters. I love the one in my current home town. It's decorated like a 50's USA coffee house.

Do you have a favorite theater? Which one?
yep. see the previous. Here's a pic from downstairs where's the cafe. http://www.cultcinema.fi/suomi/images/cafe.jpg
Great athmosphere.

Do you have a specific type of movies that you just have to see in a theater, not just DVD? Why?
The spectacle movies are nice to see on a big screen. I like seeing the ones that make me cry at the privacy of my own house. :embarrassed:

What does the movie theater-experience mean to you?
It's always been a special event for me. Even now that I'm an adult and actually can affort to go more often, I make an effort not to go too often. Does this sound nuts? I mean I don't want it to come a routine. It's my favorite way to escape my routines.

Are you drawn to see the movies that are very popular or most-discussed?

I'm a weirdo. I actually loose my intrest when there's a lot of hype around something. I don't want to follow the heard.

What's your mood usually after you leave a theater?

Usually I'm very happy that I went there. I feel satisfied. And at the same time sad, because I start to miss the charecters.
* * * * *

Part 2: DVD

Do you have a favorite place to rent or buy DVD's? If so, What is so special about it?

I don't really rent anymore. Most of the buying I do in the web.. www.cdon.com is my usual place.

A Quick look at your DVD-stand: what do you see at first?

All the damn Marvel-movies there's ever been made. (JTT's but I like them too)

Have you got any favorite DVD's?

August Rush.. I love the music in it. Holiday... The musketeers! big_smile Just friends ofcourse. big_smile
Do you buy a lot of DVD's?

What's your flavor when it comes to DVD's? Horror movies? Drama? TV-series?
Lately I've gone for the tear droppers; drama and romance. But I've always liked action movies too. And comedies ofcourse. Mix all of these and I'll deffinatelly watch it. big_smile I've never liked horror movies even tough I've liked many horror-series. Most horror movies eighter make me laugh or they scare me too much. Gives me nightmares. I tried watching Freddy vs. Jason last week just to see Chris, but the damn dvd was scratched. Great thing to have kids! wink

What do you do when you have a movie night at home? Snacks and all?

Wait for the kids to fall asleep, take a little chicps and something to drink, maybe some chocolate. Then it's all enjoy, enjoy, enjoy...

Do you like to have a lot of company when watching a movie on DVD?
If it's not gonna make me cry I don't mind the company. But they better stay pretty quiet or I can't concentrate on the movie...

Do you have a lot of pauses when you're watching a movie? Does it anoy you to watch with some who wants a lot of pauses?
Not really. I usually try to watch everything without pauses.
* * * * *

Part 3: TV

How many hours a day you watch TV?

Um, 1-4. It's my way to unwind after the kids go to sleep.

Do YOU think it's too much?

Yeah, most days.

What type of TV-shows you like?
Crime, mystery, medical, horror, drama, sitcoms

Any favorites?

Dexter, Criminal minds, NCIS, Supernatural, Buffy, House MD, ER, Crossing Jordan, Cold case.. I got tired of the CSI's..

Do you like to watch made for TV- movies?

Some. I remember one called I remember my name is Steven. I'd like to see it again to form a better oppinion..

Do you generally watch a lot of movies on TV?

Maybe once a week if something good comes on.

What's your TV-watching experience like?

We have this digibox-thing in Finland. I don't know how common it's elsewhere. I record pretty much everything I want to see on the box and then just see show after another 'till I get sleepy. Nice to fastforward the commercials. big_smile

Is there a certain moment in a day when you like to watch TV?

The evenings. On weekends I watch tv for couple of hours during the day if I get the chance. On the weenend evenings I usually like to listen to music and be on the computer. Like now. big_smile

Re: I've got a little questionare about your habbits :D

Part one: movie theaters

How many times have you been in theaters? I would say normally about 6 times each year.

Do you have an oppinion about movie theaters? As long as it's comfortable (which is rare), i love being in theaters.

At what age was your first experience? Remember the movie? This is one thing i wish i could remember. Earliest film i can remember watching was Dragonheart, which was in 1996.

What is your all time favorite movie seen in theater?Hmmm. This would be hard. There are many films i've seen which i loved. Last movie i saw in theaters was the Dark Knight, and that was unbelievable.

In how many theaters have you been? About 3 in the UK and 1 in Germany.

Do you find any differences in different theaters? If so, What? (Themes or something?)Nope. Except for the difference in sizes.

Do you have a favorite theater? Which one? A theater not about 15 mins away from me, called Showcase. If lucky, and you get the comfortable screen, then its a wonderful experience.

Do you have a specific type of movies that you just have to see in a theater, not just DVD? Why? I would go and see any specific type, but if it's part of a franchise like James Bond, then i have to see it.

What does the movie theater-experience mean to you?If it's a big film, then yes, because i love the full experience of seeing it on a big screen.

Are you drawn to see the movies that are very popular or most-discussed?I'm drawn more to ones i'm find interesting looking.

What's your mood usually after you leave a theater?Wanting more most of the time.

* * * * *

Part 2: DVD

Do you have a favorite place to rent or buy DVD's? If so, What is so special about it? Carboots tongue You can find anything cheap there.

A Quick look at your DVD-stand: what do you see at first? Depends what part of the room you look at. More likely it will be those beginning with P and onwards.

Have you got any favorite DVD's?All Marquette DVD's tongue. I have too many to pick a favourite.

Do you buy a lot of DVD's?I have over 400. Every month i have new ones.

What's your flavor when it comes to DVD's? Horror movies? Drama? TV-series? Can be anything, but most are comedies.

What do you do when you have a movie night at home? Snacks and all?Complete closure. Lights off. Sound loud. Food available.

Do you like to have a lot of company when watching a movie on DVD? A few people, but not many. If it's just with my brother, then i'm happy.

Do you have a lot of pauses when you're watching a movie? Does it anoy you to watch with some who wants a lot of pauses? If i'm watching a film for the first time, i would only pause it if i HAVE to. If i've seen it before and i need a toilet break, i'll leave it running when i leave at the best time.

* * * * *

Part 3: TV

How many hours a day you watch TV? I'll say about 4-5. Sometimes less.

Do YOU think it's too much? Not really. It's not all in one big chunk.

What type of TV-shows you like?Again like my films, i could enjoy anything.

Any favorites? The usual things like Simpsons, but i adore Doctor Who.

Do you like to watch made for TV- movies?Like Theatrical Movies, if they interest me i will watch them.

Do you generally watch a lot of movies on TV?Not a lot. I prefer the first time viewing with the best picture and sound experience.

What's your TV-watching experience like? Similar to watching a film. Relaxing.

Is there a certain moment in a day when you like to watch TV? From 10pm. It's the only chance i get.

Re: I've got a little questionare about your habbits :D

Part one: movie theaters

How many times have you been in theaters?   Wow, I really don't know.  A few dozen times I'm guessing

Do you have an oppinion about movie theaters?   I think they're fun, and they're "special".   smile   I have however heard horror stories about what goes on in the dark, so I always sit up front and prefer not to go alone.

At what age was your first experience? Remember the movie?
The first movie I remember going to was Disney's Peter Pan when I was 4

What is your all time favorite movie seen in theater?   Probably Titanic.  It's the only movie I saw more than once in the theatre, before it came out on video

In how many theaters have you been?   Hmm, maybe 8 or 10

Do you find any differences in different theaters? If so, What? (Themes or something?)   Well, the building and layout of course.  I like how they usually have dark colors like black/blue/purple, some have more reds.  But they're always dark colors to set the mood for watching a movie.

Do you have a favorite theater? Which one?   I can't pick a favorite.  Maybe the Tinseltown ones

Do you have a specific type of movies that you just have to see in a theater, not just DVD? Why?    I can watch anything on either DVD or in the theatre, but movies with a lot of special effects or flying scenes are even more awesome in a theatre

What does the movie theater-experience mean to you?    I've always seen it as a special occasion when I go to the theatre

Are you drawn to see the movies that are very popular or most-discussed?    I only see movies I want to see, I don't let popularity sway me, unless I'm going with friends and they are seeing it because it's "popular".

What's your mood usually after you leave a theater?    When I leave?  A little sad that the "special occasion" is over.

* * * * *

Part 2: DVD

Do you have a favorite place to rent or buy DVD's? If so, What is so special about it?    Blockbuster, although I haven't rented in a super long time.  I haven't tried it, but I've heard lots of good things about Netflix

A Quick look at your DVD-stand: what do you see at first?    F*R*I*E*N*D*S season sets, Roswell season sets, and all sorts of cartoons   big_smile

Have you got any favorite DVD's?    Of course, my cartoons, particularly Foster's, although I also love my F*R*I*E*N*D*S and Roswell DVDs

Do you buy a lot of DVD's?    I actually don't, only when I really want a DVD do I get it.  Friends get me a lot of my DVDs

What's your flavor when it comes to DVD's? Horror movies? Drama? TV-series?    Cartoons!   big_smile   And comedy usually.

What do you do when you have a movie night at home? Snacks and all?
Got to have chips and dip.  Sometimes buttered popcorn.  And if it's hot outside, also ice cream.

Do you like to have a lot of company when watching a movie on DVD?    Not usually, sometimes a friend, maybe two.  Or my parents and sister.  But most of the time I'm actually alone.

Do you have a lot of pauses when you're watching a movie? Does it anoy you to watch with some who wants a lot of pauses?
I rarely pause, unless I get a phone call or someone comes to the door.   I don't even usually pause when I have to run to the bathroom because I've usually at least seen it before and I can at least still hear it.   tongue    And yes it does, if they pause it more than necessary.

* * * * *

Part 3: TV

How many hours a day you watch TV?    Maybe 4-5

Do YOU think it's too much?    I know for a fact it's less than average now days, so I don't worry about it.

What type of TV-shows you like?    Cartoons!  (do I really need to keep saying that, lol)  And comedy.

Any favorites?    Foster's, F*R*I*E*N*D*S, That 70s Show, Malcolm in the Middle, Roswell, and many others

Do you like to watch made for TV- movies?
I can, some of them are pretty good

Do you generally watch a lot of movies on TV?   Most movies I watch are on TV rather than DVD

What's your TV-watching experience like?
Relaxing, I also like the background noise

Is there a certain moment in a day when you like to watch TV?
   In the evenings
