Roswell

Hope it's okay that I started a thread for Roswell.  Definately one of my favorite shows.  I was introduced to this show a few summers ago back in the 9th grade when it was playing on sci-fi channel and I had nothing else to watch.  Got hooked.

Re: Roswell

Absolutely.  TeeJay's a big fan and I really liked it the first couple of seasons.  Can't remember if Anne's into it or not.  I wish it was playing in syndication somewhere so I could catch the rest of it.

What???? You can't remember? Shame on you!!! tongue
Of course I am into Roswell too! I used to love that show when it was on TV here! It was like my favorite show (until Joan came, of course) and I was very sad when it got cancelled.

Re: Roswell

I even gave Anne my season one VCD set because I've now got season one DVD. I loved that show. Still do, although season one is the only season I would consider magical. It all went downhill from season two on. By season three, I wasn't really that much into the show anymore. But I could just watch season one over and over and over again. So much great stuff in there. What's your favorite episode, everybody?

Re: Roswell

I agree, Season 1 is the best season.
Favorite episode ... tough question. I guess mine is either Heat Wave or Blind Date. Don't know yet.

Re: Roswell

Yeah, season 1 is the best.  Season 2 was okay, and I did really enjoy season 3 (except for the fact that Isabelle married Jesse mad)

My favorite episode is definately "Four Square".  I am a total Cliffhanger (Michael/Isabel shipper).  The first episode I ever saw was "The Convention" and for some reason I couldn't help think that Michael and Iz had a connection that went beyond friendship so I was stoked when they got together in "Four Square" (even if it was only in their dreams.)

Re: Roswell

Can't say that I was a Michael/Isabel shipper. I kinda liked the pairings from the show, say Liz and Max (my favorite) and Michael and Maria. Couldn't stand Tess and I found it funny when Alex had that dream with Isabel. LOL

Re: Roswell

I was a total Dreamer (Max/Liz shipper), and a bit of a Candy (Michael/Maria) as well. Couldn't really see Michael and Izzie together. And, God, don't mention Jesse. Hated him with a passion (nothing against the actor, of course). You know, I'll have to find an episode guide to actually name a fave episode, but one of the most memorables ones for me was a) the one where Liz' grandma dies and b) the ones surrounding Max' capture at the end of season one. I think The White Room impressed me a lot, in a substitute agony kind of way.

And why do you never see Jason Behr in anything these days? I thought he had a lot of potential. I saw Brendan Fehr in a Canadian comedy in the theater a while back, can't even remember the name of the movie. All I remember is that I was impressed as well because, man, that guy has range! Who'd have thought? smile

Re: Roswell

Yeah, I wonder about that too. The last thing I know Jason did was Shooting Livien, I think. I know that it's out on DVD, but you can't buy it from amazon, at least you couldn't when I checked last time.
And yeah, I remember you talking about that comedy, Tina, but I have to say, I didn't see Brendan on TV much these days. Except maybe for two seconds in that CSI episode.

I didn't know that the Liz/Max shippers where called Dreamers. LOL I guess I'm a huge dreamer and a little bit of a Candy too. smile

Re: Roswell

Yeah, I hated Jesse too.  I just found his and Iz' relationship to be somewhat over the top and kind of pathetic really.  Everytime I saw them as a couple, I just couldn't help but laugh.  They didn't fit with each other.

As for Michael/Maria: I couldn't stand them with a passion either.  They just didn't fit for me (I guess that's because I'm die-hard when it comes to Michael/Isabel.)

irina: yeah, the ending was sad.  It was hard to watch them go off like that but at least the enevitable happened (Max & Liz got married!)

And good part about all of it was that Jesse didn't go along!!! (I wish Maria hadn't either.  She should've just stayed with her music career or gone off with Billy tongue)

Re: Roswell

You shouldn't get me started on Roswell. I could go on forever, I frequently do. Roswell surpasses Joan of Arcadia and is my all time favourite show. smile

Shipper wise, I've always been first and foremost Michael and Maria. Michael's my fav character, although, they are all great (with the exception of Jesse, who's okay, but NOT with Isabel). Interestingly enough, the ship I am into most from any tv/movie is Michael and Maria, however I kinda like the cliffhanger stuff too. Not sure why, usually I don't ship conflicting couples, but although I'm a huge Candy shipper, I also am a tiny bit of a Cliffhanegr shipper. Woah, a lot of times to use the word 'ship' in one paragraph.

Of course, I love Max and Liz, their love is the crux of the show. And Isabel and Alex, and Tess and Kyle. I used to hate Tess with a passion when I watched Roswell on Tv, but rewatching the dvds, I came to kind of like her. Which is weird, because, like I said, I used to hate her avidly. I do not, under any circumstances like Tess and Max, though.

Re: Roswell

This 'shipper stuff kinda snuck up on me.  I never really got it until I became obsessed with Buffy and Angel.  I will not go into that as I could write an entire book about it by now.  But I would have to say that Adam and Joan are pretty much the only ship that ever inspired me enough to co-create well over 300 pages of fan fic.

Same here. I mean, my fanfiction isn't 300 pages, but at least they made me start writing fanfiction, so it's a start. LOL
I still need to finish, though.

Re: Roswell

Well, I did attempt a few Max/Liz fics (McPunisher stuff, Deb), but never as avidly as what I did with JoA. And while I was pretty deep into Roswell, there has yet to come a TV show that surpasses my JoA dedication.

Re: Roswell

Hey, Jason Behr is back!! Wonder where he was all this time....

ABC sees Locklear in 'Jayne'
By Nellie Andreeva

March 27, 2007

Heather Locklear has closed a deal to play the title role in ABC's comedy pilot "See Jayne Run," while Jason Behr has landed the lead in Fox's drama pilot "Company Man," previously known as "NSA Innocent."

Additionally, Johann Urb and Brianna Brown have joined the CW comedy pilot "Dash 4 Cash."

"Jayne," from ABC TV Studio and Brillstein-Grey TV, centers on an accomplished alpha female (Locklear) working in the male-dominated world of investment banking who struggles to balance career and motherhood.

The project reunites Locklear with the network and the studio following her starring role in the ABC/ABC TV Studio comedy pilot "Women of a Certain Age" last year. Locklear, who most recently toplined Lifetime's original movie "Angels Fall," is repped by ICM and Brillstein-Grey.

"Man," from 20th Century Fox TV and Realtime Prods., centers on a family man (Behr) recruited by the National Security Agency as a spy within the defense contracting company he works for. Also cast in the pilot is Annie Wersching ("General Hospital") as his wife.

The pilot originally was scheduled to go into production two weeks ago with Stephen Moyer as the lead. Following a table read March 12, the production start date was pushed in order to rework and recast the lead (HR 3/13). The main character and his wife, a role that had not been cast, are now significantly younger. Other major tweaks also have been made to Bob Cochran and David Ehrman's original script by the project's executive producers, including Cochran, Joel Surnow and Howard Gordon.

"Roswell" alum Behr's (UTA, Robert Stein Management) upcoming features include "Skinwalkers," "Senseless" and "The Tattooist."

"Dash," from CBS Paramount Network TV and Grammnet Prods., is set behind the scenes of a racing TV reality show.

Urb (APA, Lena Roklin Management) will play a former frat boy and football jock who has partnered with his college roommate. Urb recurs on FX's "Dirt." Brown (Anonymous Content) will play a recently single pediatrician trying to recover from the demise of her long-term relationship.

Re: Roswell

I surfed one of his fansites a little earlier. He's a married man now too. Lucky lady. smile I just loved him on Roswell. Max was my favorite character and I loved how Jason portrayed him. I'd love to watch Shooting Livien (that he and Dom Monaghan were in), but I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

I think they showed it on Showtime at one point. Deb, if it comes on again, can you maybe tape it for me? I don't really wanna spend $18 on a DVD when the review are so-so.

Haha, this is funny. I just came across the CV of one of the laboratory heads for the clinical trial I'm working on. Have a look. Now we know where he vanished to after the show ended. smile
