Have you guys seen the video of a dog saving another dog from traffic after it was hit by a car?  Amazing.

Re: Randomness

So according to the Weather Channel, for the next week it won't even get above freezing all week.

Plus some of the local weather guys are saying that for the next 2 weeks it's going to be cold. One even said it's going to be even colder with highs only in the teens (which I think means lows around zero or below <I hope not>).

This is way too early for temps this cold. It's like late January weather. Winter hasn't even begun and I'm already sick of this weather.

I can't believe it's friday already.. I have so much on my to do-list... It's only two more days to my son's bd and I haven't done anything yet. The food, the cleaning, the decorations, the present... And I'm gonna have to put up all the christmas stuff today too. And all this while my flu keeps getting worse and worse by the day.. My throat is killing me and I'm tired and I have weird headaches and some other pains totally unrelevant to the flu. Something that bugs me every now and then.. I hope I can forget all about those pains after christmas when I have my doctor's appointment...

Uh, sorry. I'm such a whiner. I hate it.. I feel like crap but I can't go through these boards without smiling, so thank you. big_smile

Re: Randomness

Illinois.. It isn't really cold here either. I actually kinda wish it was a bit colder. So there wouldn't be that wet white mush everywhere, making my feet wet and making my flu worse. Some of the snow has melted. Looks kinda like april here. I wish it was january or february already. So it's clear and sunny, even the frisky cold feels good. Atleast it would be a bit dry for a while..

Blah, I bringing you down again.. Here's something to perk up the day.. big_smile

Q. How do you know  when your bass player arrives?
A. He knocks on the door, but forgets to come in!

Q: What's E.T. short for?
A: Because he has little legs!

Q: What's black and white and red all over?
A: Mimes in a chainsaw fight.

A mystery-lover takes his place  in the theater for opening night, but his seat is way back in the theater, far from the stage. The man calls an usher over and whispers, ''I just love a good mystery, and I have been anxiously anticipating the opening of this play. However, in order to carefully follow the clues and fully enjoy the play, I have to watch a mystery close up. Look how far away I am! If you can get me a better seat, I'll give you a handsome tip.''
The usher nods and says he will be back shortly. Looking forward to a large tip, the usher speaks with his co-workers in the box office, hoping to find some closer tickets. With just three minutes left until curtain, he finds an unused ticket at the Will Call window and snatches it up. Returning to the man in the back of the theater, he whispers, ''Follow me.'' The usher leads the man down to the second row, and proudly points out the empty seat right in the middle. ''Thanks so much,'' says the theatergoer, ''This seat is perfect.'' He then hands the usher a quarter.
The usher looks down at the quarter, leans over and whispers, ''The butler did it in the parlor with the candlestick.''

Due to a mixup on  Grammy night, Madonna, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera are forced to share a private jet in order to arrive in time for the ceremony.
Once up in the air, Madonna pulls out a $1000 bill and says, "I'm going to throw this $1000 bill out the window and make someone down below very happy."
Not to be outdone, Britney ripped a $1000 bill in half and threw it out the window, saying, "Look, I just made two people really happy."
Not even noticing Britney's stupid move, Christina bragged, "Look, I'm going to throw 1000 $1 bills and make a lot more people a little happier."
At this point the pilot, who has overheard all this bragging and can't stand it anymore, comes out and says, "I think I'll throw all three of you out of this plane and make 250 million people happy."

Re: Randomness

That's nothing.

When I was a kid, the muffler fell off our car while driving. I was told to go and move it. Well through either stupidity or lack of judgment I picked it up and burned my fingers on both hands.

Had to go home with my hands out the window to cool them down. Had blisters on my fingers for weeks after that.

I remember getting burnt between two fingers with solder years ago. And to make things worst, i saw the one responsible when i was on holiday. lol Last month, i got burnt again, when a little bit of solder flew towards me and landed in the exact same place as before.

Re: Randomness

Thank you, Mel. smile No such luck.. Worse again.. But on the positive side, This is day 5 of my flu so if it lasts 10 days as it usually does, I'm half way through! big_smile

And I STILL have the same damn To do-list. I did a quickie cleanup yesterday (then I was absolutely beaten..) but I still have to do it ALL today.. and JTT is at work, so he's not much of a help. Maybe I can take the kids to JTT's mom or something so I can clean without distractions..

Hey, I always wanted to show you all this picture. So glad I came across it again. big_smile
Can you see a baby in this picture?

Re: Randomness

Oh damn, it's almost noon already.. I have to get into that cleaning and stuff already.. I haven't even eaten a proper breakfest yet, gotta get into THAT one first... I'm so tired.. It was about 2 am when I finally got to sleep last night. And woke up 8.30 when my daughter came asking about breakfast.
I'd go to sleep much earlier every night if my 2-year old didn't stay up till 11 or 12. And then I need an hour for my self to unwind before going to bed..and still I roll in bed (atleast) for a half an hour before I fall asleep.. Then I have to get up just after 6 almost every morning. So do you think I'm insomniac or what? roll No hopes that I'll ever get rid off this sleep depth.. I look like a Volturi wife, dark circles around my eyes and all.. I'll bet if I wore red or golden contacts I could be mistaken for a vampire! lol

So.. lighter subjects. big_smile Did you already get all the christmas presents? I was gonna start this week but I'll guess it's all crazy-shopping-hulabaloo for me for the two weeks before christmas.. I'm supposed to take it easy this year (again) but I'll bet I'll go wild over them (again) since I love to give presents. I love to give, period. Yeah, I know: I'm crazy... :silly: No rest for the wicked! I've got only myself to blame. And the fact that there's about 20 kids I need to get presents to, even if I try not to get anything for the adults... Like that's gonna happen. roll I'll have to give a present to a few teenagers and then I'll start feeling guilty for not giving anything for their adult siblings (because it's unfair, obviously!) and then all hell breaks loose!
Help... Save me from myself... lol

Oh, and hey! :dancing: Happy birthday Finland! big_smile It's our independence day today.:applause: big_smile

Re: Randomness

Just a quickie question mids cleaning.. (I had to stop and eat a myeslibar and a class of juice since I haven't eaten today and feel kinda weak..)

Is it possible to get addicted to aspirin and flu medicine? Or get a little high from them? roll
I imagine, Tina would know...?

I feel kinda weird..dizzy.. and easily amuzed.. I'd even say funny stuff has been making me kinda euphoric for the past two days.. This week has been rather painful for me. I've taken 1-3 dozes of each almost everyday. In all my life I haven't used this much drugs.. I've always had a high tolerance for pain and I hate taking pills..and ever since I saw my sis get a bit addicted to painkillers as a teen I've been really wary of that...

I haven't exactly been eating right, because I have a bit of nausea.. And I haven't slept properly for weeks. So maybe low blood sugar and sleep depth is a better explanation...? hmm

I'm no expert when it comes to flu medicine. I know that when you take acetaminophen (paracetamol), you shouldn't take more than 1500 mg per day. I don't know what happens when you take more than that... Doesn't it rather make you sleepy rather than energetic?

If you take waaaay too much, cough syrup will give you a little high.  I don't know if you can get addicted to aspirin, but you can overdose... I've done it.

Bought my cat a package of Wiskas Cat Milk for $3.00 as an early Christmas treat.

Put a little in a bowl. He sniffed it and didn't drink any of it.
Finicky damn cat. $3 down the drain.

Likely will give the rest to a friend who has a cat.
