Re: ER And An Educated Guess...

There's another actress named Michael, too.  She played the mom on the classic TV show, The Waltons, Michael Learned.  It is a little odd.  But so is Glenn for a girl, like Glenn Close.  That was my dad's name.  But guess what his middle name was... Meredith.  How weird is that for a guy?  And for that matter, John Wayne's real first name was Marion.  What is with people?  LOL!

Re: ER And An Educated Guess...

Yeah, well, I was aware that it's not unusual in the US to give boy names to girls and girl names to boys, but I thought Michael is so clearly a boy's name that nobody would have the idea to call a girl like that. Obviously I was wrong. LOL

Well, how about the Italians using Andrea for a male name?

Re: ER And An Educated Guess...

I heard about that. But that's not as weird as calling a girl Michael. At least I think so. wink

But I do! LOL Okay, maybe not all of them, but I think I can name a lot. Been a fan of that show ever since day 1. Well, day 1 of airing in Germany. I think I switched to watching it in English right around season five or six. That's when I got to know Steff and she sent me the tapes from Switzerland where it aired bilingually. At least now I get all my stuff off the internet. As does Steff.

And me. Thanks to you. big_smile
Well, I became a fan of ER very late because we did not have cable before we moved to here. I grew up with having only three channels, so I missed a lot of American TV. But nowadays, I'm also a fan and can enjoy watching reruns on Kabel1 once in a while. It just sucks that they are dubbed but the only undubbed television I get is MTV.

Re: ER And An Educated Guess...

Guess what guys, we were right!  The DID character that Shawn Hatosy played was indeed the role that Chris was up for.  He didn't know that Shawn took the role.  He was very tickled by that.  He says Shawn is one of his favorite young actors.

As truly fantastic as Shawn was in the part, now I'll never be able to watch that ep again without daydreaming about the Chris - Scotty G match-up that could've been. tongue

Re: ER And An Educated Guess...

Hey, Shawn Hatosy is in the Numb3rs episode I'm just watching. And I kept thinking that Deb said he was in the same age range as Chris because of the ER guest role. On Numb3rs he looks at least 10 years older than Chris. And then I went online and found that he is 10 years older than Chris. He's about a month older than me. He played an old army buddy of Colby, Anne. Remember him?

Re: ER And An Educated Guess...

I recognized him even before they showed his name in the opening credits. I was like, "Hey! Shawn Hatosy! No way!"

Broken record alert, but what do we have to do to make Chris do a TV guest role?

Re: ER And An Educated Guess...

I know Shawn's way older than Chris, I was talking abut the ER character, not him.  Nick said someone asked him about Shawn's age when he cast him as Elvis, but Nick said it didn't bother him because Shawn's good enough to pull off any role.  I agree.

Re: ER And An Educated Guess...

Is there a thread for the episode of ER that Chris actually did? Found it online:
http://www.megavideo.com/?v=1NO0Q489
Is one linked episode of a TV series considered piracy?

Re: ER And An Educated Guess...

Nah, I'm not worried about an ancient ep of a TV show.  I just don't want to encourage anyone to pirate a Chris movie that's not out on DVD yet, take money out of his pocket.  Know what I mean?

Yep, at times like this you can only shake your head and humbly thank God that Stevie Nicks never had a child.
