Re: Randomness

Oh, I know just what you mean!  When my computer or internet connection is messed up I feel like I'm cut off from the whole world.  I just hate it!

I'm glad that i'm not the only one. I thought i was going to be considered weird if a computer had such a big impact on me. But i have no life, so my laptop and my movies are the only thing that keeps me going.

Out of curiosity, what was everyone's favorite movie of 2008? My favorite was Juno!  : )

Now that's a hard question, as i've seen many great films this year. Many which i wouldn't have watched, if i didn't have such an interest in film. I'm probably going to go with Indiana Jones. Being a huge Indy fan, i don't think i had been as excited for a film for a long time.

Probably Juno and TDK, although I am not that much of a Batman fan.

Re: Randomness

That's a question I can't easily answer. It has got to be a tie between Into The Wild (which I only saw in 2008), Juno, Lars and the Real Girl and Wall-E. I think out of these, the one that impressed me most was Into The Wild.

Oh yeah, how could I forget about Into The Wild. That's a great movie, too.

I was going to mention Into the Wild. It was so much more than what i thought it would be.

Re: Randomness

Juno, Lars and Into The Wild were all 2007 releases and they were nominated for awards last season.

As for me, I have not seen very many new movies this year, but the ones I saw that I really loved were Religulous, Benjamin Button & Milk.

Re: Randomness

Oh yeah, and I liked Iron Man & The Dark Knight too.  And I am no comic book movie fan.

I loved Iron Man!  TDK was really good, but I kind of liked "Batman Returns" better.  I know I'm the only one who thinks so.

Re: Randomness

Heath was amazing, but as a movie, I enjoyed Iron Man much more.  It has serious stuff in it, but it was simply much more fun.  Plus, I just love Robert Downey, Jr.  And he is BACK.

Re: Randomness

Sorry to hear that, Anne. Hope you get better soon. It's 11:30 AM and I still feel like I only just got out of bed (which I did at 7:30). My brain just doesn't seem to wanna wake up today.

Juno, Lars and Into The Wild were all 2007 releases

In Germany they were 2008 releases (I guess in the UK too). If they don't count, then I guess that leaves Wall-E for me. Obviously I can't say anything about the late 2008 US releases since they have yet to come to European theaters.

Re: Randomness

So the other day I went to the ATM to take out some money. Online it shows 2 withdrawals for that amount. So I went to the bank to inform them and it'll take up to 2 weeks for their investigation and to decide whether or not to credit my account.

So right now I can't use my ATM/Debit card for anything and if I want to take out money I have to go all the way to the bank and fill out a withdrawal form and show them ID just to get money out.

The thing is that one teller told me that if I right out checks it could bounce, but then another teller told me today that it's fine. So just to be safe I just withdrawal what I want and get money-orders to pay bills. I don't want to worry if I write out a check and the possibility that it may bounce even though the money's in the account because they have a hold on the account.

Complete hassle over so little.

Thanks Deb for earlier posting about the Add Block for Firefox.

I've added that and it works great. Before those stupid animated ads would cause Firefox to crash, now it doesn't.

That never happened to be before, so it sucked pretty much. But thank God it's almost over now. The night before last night I couldn't even sleep and had to throw up a few times. Did you ever have to throw up while your stomach is empty? Not the greatest feeling ever. sad

Re: Randomness

Great that you're getting better, Anne. big_smile

Past two days I've been feeling a lot like when I was in labor. roll And without the lovely price for it. So unfair.. I'm obviously a nutjob when I actually like the pushing-part. :silly: And the seeing the baby for the first time-part, of course. big_smile it's the opening-part that makes me wanna scream...:witsend: Ok, no more gore. sorry. big_smile Everytime I've been in labor, my pains reflected on my thighs. My legs always felt like they were in more pain than my belly, the source of it all. But I know it's just my body's own weird paincontrol. Sharing the pain with my strongest bodypart.. Allows me to forget the pain in the section of my body that had to work the best at the moment..
So what's been going on the last couple of days is that my back has been killing me. Lower back. About the spot what hurts with just about all the other women when they're on labor (didn't do that to me, just the thighs). And my body does it's own weird paincontrol again. My thighs feel like they're on fire... Really burning... sad Actually had to take some aspirin, we didn't have anything else.. Imagine with these backpains and burning thighs... and add cleaning and arranging another birthday party to the equation... Yeah, it wasn't a very good birthday party, but atleast it's over now and I survived! big_smile And after doing a lot of things to ease my pains, my back actually feels a lot better.. If I don't move...

 Sorry for the rant.. Jeez.. I hate what a whiner I am in pain nowdays.. :embarrassed:

Re: Randomness

I can relate to the part about the lower back pain, Maria. I've been managing it by going to the gym regularly, to strengthen my back muscles. Lately I've been very bad about that (I haven't been to the gym in ages). Shame on me! I can't relate to your labor descriptions, though, not having had kids. smile

I had the flu on New Year's when I was 8. I was sick for like a week. It was horrible.
