I figured it would happen eventually... my videos are being deleted by YouTube. So far only the tribute I made when I used a ton of songs was removed, but it's only a matter of time before they get the rest of them

I guess only by using songs that aren't copyrighted. I don't recall their terms of service, but when you sign up with YouTube, you probably agree not to upload any kind of material whose copyright doesn't belong to you. Technically, when you do a fanvid, you're violating two sets of copyrights--the video clips and the music. I always thought that in a fan context it would be tolerated (kinda like fan fiction), but maybe YouTube is getting heat from the music industry...

When I started, I was told as long as I gave credit for the song and didn't claim it as my own, I wasn't doing anything wrong. Like fanfiction, you're not breaking any laws as long as you use a disclaimer. But yeah... they gave me a list of songs that are acceptable but... they suck. I'm just gonna let them delete them. It's not worth fighting about.
