FLV is not VLC, my dear. The FLV player only plays FLV, nothing else. I'm not surprised it can't play MKV.

There's a movie coming on Lifetime right now called Music For My Mother (aka Pope Dreams) about a musician and he's played by one of those guys who will superficially remind you of Chris, like he could be a cousin or something. His name's Philip Vaden: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1728072/. Funnily enough, Julie Hagerty is the mom. This was made in 2006. Wonder if Julie noticed the slight resemblance...

Edited to add that I really liked this movie and I'm very glad I watched it. Check it out if you see it in the listings. It also featured Noel Fisher, who played Cael In The Riches.

I saw the show where Billy Crystal won the Mark Twain Award tonight. At the end, in his speech, he talked about how he and his wife met when he was 18 and she was 17 and they're still madly in love. It was so sweet.

A couple of months ago when this was announced, I was struck by how weird the casting is. Jaden Smith is great, but he's SO YOUNG. So this Karate Kid will be a tweener movie, I guess. Bo-ring. And they've cast Jackie Chan as Not!Miyagi. He'll be called Han and will be Chinese. And Kreese is now a Chinese guy too, who runs a rival school that teaches Kung-Fu.

So Han will teach Dre the Chinese language, and... KARATE??? Hello! Karate is a Japanese form. WTF??? This makes absolutely ZERO sense. The premise is a complete mess so I can only imagine how awful the script must be.

RIDICULOUS!
