Oh, I finally get why that Chauncey guy looked so formilliar. And why now on my second run of JOA Andy looked so formilliar.. Well, 2+2 is four... :embarrassed: I was actually a bit haunted by this. Unease not to get what's bugging me about those charaters.. I never before thought of checking his imdb until I saw that picture and he reminded me of Andy...

The review I snagged this from is not good, but here's a great comment you'll all like...

Still, the charming cast makes "Graduation" something of a guilty pleasure.
Topping the list is Chris Marquette, who plays budding anarchist Carl, the green-haired rebel with the sick mom. In a smaller role, Aimee Garcia makes a great impression as bank teller Suzy, a former rebel forced to "go suit" in the year since her own graduation. Together, Marquette and Garcia steal the movie.

me: I don't know. Probably. It was filmed in Pittsburgh.
him: Why didn't you tell me?
me: I'm sorry I didn't tell you about a movie that was filmed years ago at a high school neither of us went to.
him: Kym went there! I've been wanting to see this movie for years!

He likes movies filmed in Pittsburgh. Now he needs to buy it.

I'm confused, was the Iggy Pop tattoo real? I don't see why he would get just get it for the movie (though they did say he was dedicated) unless he was into him also. I was listening to the DVD commentary for the first time and they sure made it sound like that. Also, (I truly am slow) I thought it was weird that Aimee Garcia's name was mispelled in the credits, which I hadn't noticed. But I liked that they mostly talked about Chris and all the great things about it.

Watching the movie. I never really grasped it until just now... In the scene in the hospital hallway, when the nurse tells Carl to get off the gurney, he SPITS on the floor. Wow. That's intense. He's THAT pissed at the hospital. I would be too. Dayum, that's a helluva touch to the character. I wonder if it was scripted, or if Chris just did it. I'm betting the latter. We don't have a screencap of it, unfortunately.

I love this movie. Probably my favorite Chris-movie. Just rewatched it about the 10th time last week. i think I'll watch it again on the week of his birthday. Amongst everything else I've got of his work.
