Indeed they were. And some of their kids are too. Sean Lennon is beautiful, I think.

Yeah.. I meant to tell you guys this too.. I hope it isn't too gross on some parts.. I don't mean to whine and I don't expect any responses.. I just thought to give you an update since I told you I was having this..
I just got home a while ago from my gastroscopia.. Jeez, that was the most horrid experience of my life; including three labors! I puked everytime they moved the tube.. So I guess I was a bad patient.. :embarrassed: But for my excuse: the only thing they gave to help the preceeder was a too small doze of something to numb my throat.. My throat kept cramping around the tube.. It has a sore spot and I feel like vommiting everytime I swallow. I'm hungry as a wolf.. Last time I ate something solid was about 15 hours ago. Just got down some tomatosoup..
The doctor said my insides look beautiful! There was four polyps (presumably harmless) that they took samples of and some other samples too. The doc said my stomach looks pretty ok, but there can still be something that they couldn't see; thus the tests on the samples.. And a sonogram. The very thing I asked for when I saw the doctor in December.. So now I'm in another line... for the songram I mean... The Scopia-doctor was very worried about me and my easy vommiting.. She gave me some medication for (serious case of) acid dyspepsia as a test medication. If it works, there's some answers right there. I hope it really is something that easy...

Best street name ever!
I've been wondering what happened to you. Now we know. I need to go to the doc for my tummy too, but I don't wanna.

Ugh. Sorry to hear that. Then I guess you went to a doc who doesn't believe in giving you a sedative for the procedure. I've heard of doctors only giving throat numbers and not giving anything else. I was blissfully sedated through all of my gastroscopy. I don't remember any of it, neither any discomfort nor any gagging or throwing up. Maybe it works differently in Finland, but if it were me, I'd make sure beforehand that the doc was gonna sedate me before I had another gastroscopy done. If the doc doesn't beileve in sedation, I'd go to another one. Thankfully, we have free choice of doctors in Germany.
I'm glad to hear they didn't find anything badly wrong with you. Hope the other tests will determine what the trouble is. Stomach problems can really bring you down, as can every disease, especially if it's chronic and generates constant pain or discomfort.

I think Finnish healh care sucks these days. They're trying to save money in everything. The doctor even made a small speech about how this is a small, harmless and usually painless procedure that doesn't need sedatives... I'm now pretty sure if I ever have to have another thing like that done; I'll go to a private practice... which is pretty unusual in Finland; atleast in Lapland. They've only just last year opened two private practices in this town.. I guess they sensed an opening business chance here. People getting a bit anxious about the way things roll now..

You know, back at the time I started laser treatment for my birthmarks the doctor told me to use some kind of ointment that would limit the pain, but it still hurt like hell. Then again, another doctor used to tell me the birthmarks would be gone before my 18th birthday.
Since then I want sedative for any medical procedure I have to endure.

I just ran into a handle that kind of remins me of Laura's "magicalturkey". On HuffPo, there's a guy who calls himself "SurrealPumpkin".
And suddenly I'm hungry for an imaginary Thanksgiving dinner.

Okay, the time is finally here - my cat has reached her final days. At least it seems like it. She doesn't want to eat and drinks only if you offer her some water. My parents took her from our old neighbors this afternoon because they're currently away, so noone could take care of her. They told me she's puking a lot, I hope that doesn't happen while I am here. This cat has been in my life for nearly all my life. I don't want her to die.

Sorry to hear that Momo isn't doing well. How is she now? Hope she's just ill and not dying. Are you planning to take her to the vet?

Well, she'll be 19 years old this year, so I guess she is pretty much dying. If she was human she would be in her 90ies ...
We think she's not in pain, so far she is "enjoying" her stay with us. She just doesn't want to eat. They already took her to the vet and the doctor said she doesn't think that Momo is going to make it very long anymore.

I am very sorry to hear that about your cat.
My family has owned many pets throughout the years. It's never a good sign when they start to refuse to eat. I've seen where a few times they start to eat again and it looks like they maybe improving, but then they just stop eating and drinking and it's not long after that that they pass on.
So I know what you're going through.:(

Thanks, guys. The situation hasn't changed yet, but my mom is going to take her to the vet on Monday.
I know I should be happy that she had such a long life and everything, but I'm still sad. I got her when I was seven and then lived with her for 11 years until we had to move out of our old house and had to leave her with our neighbors, but I was still seeing her regularly.
May 28 would be her nineteenth birthday but who knows if she's gonna make it until then ...

Yeah, right after we got back from LA, Maynie stopped eating. But I switched him from the boring old dry food he'd been eating for like 13 years to some nice canned food and he started eating again. He seems fine now. I've even gotten him back on dry food, just a different, more flavorful dry food. He's like 15 years old so it wouldn't surprise me if his health was declining, but he seems OK. Knock wood. I know what you're going through though of course because of losing my beloved dog, Lacey in the summer of 2007. She was 17 years old. It was so heartbreaking. But I guess they can't live forever and we know this going in. Still doesn't take the sting out of it though, does it?
Hugs, Anne.

Thanks Deb. That means a lot to me.
I really hope Momo is going to be okay again, at least for a little while. I got her when I was seven and I still remember the day we went to my brother'S former classmate who had a cat that had just had a bunch of kittens. Momo was the last one they had to find a new owner for, the others were already taken. But I just loved her. And now 19 years with her are over and I wonder where those years went. It's like we grow older but we don't realize that our pets get older, too.

And my spotless track record continues. On Wednesday, we have a meeting with our client, PPD, which happens about twice a year. And for the last two times when PPD was here, I was sick and couldn't join. Now I have a sore throat and I'll bet on Wednesday I'll want nothing more than to lie in bed because I've finally caught the cold that I've been dodging all winter. This is so ironic, and not in a good way.
So now I'm trying to drug myself up with sage tea (ack!) and vitamic C. Not that I think it'll help much. But I'm telling you, I'm gonna go to work on Wednesday, flu or not.

You trying to give me stomach troubles on top? Eurgh. No thanks.
Oh, and I just realized something even better. I have concert tickets for Peter Fox for Friday night. I'm surely really gonna be able to appreciate it with a full blown cold. But, hey, what do we have nasal spray and acetaminophen for, right?
Here's something that would totally top off my week: An announcement that Charlie Banks is gonna open in Washington DC on March 27, seeing how I will be there from March 18 to March 22... Bring it on, Universe, bring it on! I freakin' dare you!

I'd love to see Charlie Banks announced for DVD in April. And then we get the Fanboys DVD in May. That would be so perfect!

Yeah, my tax refund got deposited this morning.
Now I can go out and start to try and pick which new tv to buy. I only have room for a 32 inch.
I'll take my time and decide which one because I don't want to rush out and buy one and get a crappy one.
