Re: Randomness

Since I already wrecked my car ones on an ice skid, I think I'll just be safe and stay off the roads whenever possible.  I went $500 out of pocket on that accident just trying to be responsible and go to work.  Never again.  Had I felt on Monday that it was too dangerous, I would not have gone.

Re: Randomness

Does anybody have the same problem with Youtube? It seems like it's sooooo slow recently. It takes ages for the site to load. I hate that.

For me the videos usually start acting slow and have problems buffering every once in a while. It's really annoying.

Re: Randomness

My horoscope for today is interesting...

Some people will criticise you, regardless of what you do or don't do. By this, they really mean no harm. It is just their habit. How seriously then, do you want to take their attitudes and opinions? If the observations are appropriate and you can benefit from paying them some attention, by all means listen. If you find them hurtful or counterproductive, why waste precious time and energy? Right now, you deserve to be feeling supported and appreciated. Invite all that into your life, and make sure there is room for it.

I knew there was a lot of knife crimes about in the UK, but i never thought it would happen right outside the school i work at. Worst thing was that the knife was aimed towards 11 and 12 year olds.

Re: Randomness

Facebook question:  When you search someone's name and come up with lots of pages of people by that name and they don't have pictures, is there anyway to view their profile to help figure out if you've found the person you're looking for?

Re: Randomness

You can only access someone's profile if they have set it up as a public profile (which most people don't). If there's no picture and the profile isn't public, you're basically SOL.

Re: Randomness

How do you know if it's public or not if all you get is an empty pic box and a name?  And no, I'm not looking for any celebrity.  I'm looking for an old friend.

Re: Randomness

If you're in the same network, sometimes you can see their profile.  That's how I found a lot of Whinnie's friends after her funeral, we were all in the Pittsburgh network so I could see their profile.  It also helped they were all already on Whin's friends page.

If it comes up just an empty box and name when you click the link, then their profile is private.  Sometimes you can't click the link at all.  Usually, if the link's clickable, it'll take you to a mini-profile, which shows the friends you have in common, if any, and their networks.

Re: Randomness

Unfortunately, I don't know where he lives these days.  He used to live here, but he always wanted to move to the Gulf Coast.  No matches in the Atlanta network so he probably moved away.  Of course there's nothing to indicate that he even has a Facebook, but he was always into technology so I bet he does.

That's how you know. Like Laura said, if you can't click anything, it's set to private.

Re: Randomness

I don't know, I'm not a mechanic. wink The motor self-diagnostic lamp came one and started beeping and the car did this juddering thing suddenly. I called the shop and when I described my problem, the guy said it might be the ignition coil. I'm gonna take her to the shop on Monday morning (if she makes it that far) and I'm gonna take the bike to work from there (unless it pours cats and dogs). I just hope it doesn't take more than two days to fix and doesn't cost half a fortune. Thankfully, it's still possible to go to work by bus, but it takes twice as long, and of course I have to pay for it.

The links both go to this ad for hot singles in Atlanta.  Somehow, I don't think that was your intention.

Re: Randomness

I saw Liam, Shawn and Whinnie's mom today.  Last time I saw Liam was at Whinnie's funeral and the last time I saw Shawn and Whin's mom was in October.  It's Liam's birthday tomorrow, so we had a little mini party for him with cupcakes and lots of toys before he goes back to his dad's.

He's doing great though.  He's really big, he can stand almost by himself now and he loves play-wrestling.  He's starting school tomorrow at The Western Pennsylvania School for the Blind, which is really good.
