Re: The Brothers Marquette

LOL!  So does that mean you'd never even seen a pic of Sean before now?

Re: The Brothers Marquette

I've seen a pic of him before, but because i didn't know he was in it before i watched the film, i didn't recognise the young face when he appeared.

I don't know why, but that sentence just doesn't sound right to me. hmm

Re: The Brothers Marquette

Here's a bit of good news for Sean.   smile

The cartoon for which he does the voice of one of the lead characters, "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends", has been nominated for an Annie Award- again.   big_smile  Specifically the Foster's movie Destination Imagination which aired on Thanksgiving here in the States.  Annies are basically Emmy awards for animated shows, movies and ads.

Best Animated Television Production Produced for Children

A Miser Brothers Christmas – Warner Bros. Animation
Avatar: The Last Airbender – Nickelodeon
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends "Destination Imagination" – Cartoon Network Studios
The Mighty B! – Nickelodeon
Underfist: Halloween Bash – Cartoon Network Studios

Source- Cartoon Brew http://www.cartoonbrew.com/events/2008- … tions.html

Nickelodeon leads the pack in television with 12 nominations, including two for Best Animated Television Production Produced for Children: "Avatar:The Last Airbender" and "The Mighty B!" Other nominees in this category include: "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends" and "Underfist: Halloween Bash," Cartoon Network Studios and "A Miser Brothers Christmas," Warner Bros. Animation.

Source- Annie Awards Websight http://annieawards.org/press.html

I remember Sean presented an Annie award himself a few years ago.  And Foster's has won a number of them during the 6 seasons it's been airing.  But this is especially exciting for the show and its cast as they are in their last season and they're going out with a "BANG!"   wink   Many congrats are in order!

Oh, and of course good luck on bringing the Annie home.   :dancing:

Re: The Brothers Marquette

I just saw 13 goin oon 30 again; and just because I wanted to see Sean acting. big_smile I first saw the movie about a year ago and I didn't knew much about the brothers Marquette back then. But I do remember thinking that kid was good. big_smile And he really was. I might actually say it was the best performance in the whole movie. It was a real feel good-movie. Loved it. A bit contrast to "The Daze" which is the only other Sean-flick I've seen. lol I better try find some DVD's...

Re: The Brothers Marquette

Wow, nice find on the monologues from the Neil Simon plays!  Those are great.  I wonder if his mom has seen those.  I'll have to send her the links next time I talk to her.  I love those plays.  Matthew Broderick grew up doing them on the New York stage.

Re: The Brothers Marquette

I finally watched one of Sean's "new" movies, Resurrection Mary. I hope this isn't a spoiler, but Sean's character dies about 40 minutes into the movie. It's not a great film, but it's rather okay. The usual teen flick horror story, though I wasn't shocked or frightened or anything. I don't even know if it's rated R or not, kinda felt more like a PG-13 movie.

Sean did a good job. He reminded me a lot of Chris several times. The voice, the gestures, the facial expressions. You can really tell they're brothers. What I didn't like where the kinda gay earrings. tongue Maybe I'll make some screencaps for you over the next few days.

Re: The Brothers Marquette

I had a feeling Sean's character would die in Resurrection Mary.  After all, most horror flicks involve most of the lead characters dying.  Awww, I don't want to see that.   sad

Well, the Annie Awards were last Friday, and I'm sad to say Foster's didn't win.  It was a close race though.  The winner for that category was an American anime called "Avatar", which airs on Nickelodeon.  I've never seen the show myself, so I don't have any comment on it, but it must be pretty good to bring home an award.  Especially after winning over Foster's.  Oh well.

On a side note, there's a guy at my work that reminds me a lot of Sean.   tongue   He's about the same age, about a year younger though, and he has much the same mannerisms.  He's a nice guy, although we work in completely different departments so we see eachother only in passing.  He may be a little confused how I usually say his name when I greet him.  I don't even think he knows mine.   lol

Technically, Sean wasn't the lead character. He was the lead character's best friend.

I meant to watch that movie for a long time, but horror flicks just aren't my type, you know. But I'm running out of shows to watch, so maybe tonight or tomorrow.

Re: The Brothers Marquette

It's cute, but it kinda tells the whole story already. I gotta admit that after seeing this, other than for Sean, I don't feel like I really wanna watch it. Feels like it's been done 3 million times before, only with other actors.

I think it's really cute.  I love the kid who plays Victor (Devon Werkheiser).  He's such an adorable dork.

Re: The Brothers Marquette

They just shot this thing and there's already a trailer and a release date...

Rob Zombie's H2 opens 8/28/09.  You won't see him in the trailer, but Seany's in the movie.  It's actually got a pretty great cast.
