I don't know of anything he'd been in except "Fiddler on the Roof" and that was a play.  And I don't know any of his co-stars.  I'm stumped

He was also in the Bond film "For Your Eyes Only"  if that helps.  And Paul Micheal Glazer was in Fiddler on the Roof

Aww!  I know you're not a soap guy, but Cinderella is perfect!  Prince Charming was played by Stuart Damon who was on "General Hospital" with Amber Tamblyn.  I'd forgotten about that until you mentioned "Cinderella".

Re: 6 Degrees of Chris

Ok i always seem to read these and feel so out of the loop not knowing who people are or movies that are mentioned. But i did actually read in a Lonely Planet guide the other day that the average US household will have over 100 channels on TV. Is this true???

Yep.  It sure is.  But not all of them are good ones.  I've probably got close to that many, but only watch stuff on maybe 30 of them.

Re: 6 Degrees of Chris

I didnt think that could be true...that just blows my mind. Here in Australia, without cable you are looking at channel 2, 7, 9, 10, 28(SBS) 31, and they have just brought out OneHD which is the sports channel now. Thats it. Even then 31 is really random and i never watch it. For hours on end when they dont have anything to broadcast they show fish swimming around an aquarium. 28 is laughed at as the Sex Between Soccer network, generally international arthouse stuff and i think about 5 hours of international news. Channel 2 is also a low budget channel and tends to show local interveiw or quiz shows, and cartoons. So i would say that about 80-90% of my TV watching comes from 3 channels. I just cant fathom over 100. Well we do also have cable here and i know there are alot more channels with that but even then i think its like 70 channels on that. So my general statement from this entire rant would be.... WOW.

Re: 6 Degrees of Chris

Well, that number is with cable.  Pretty much everyone here has at least basic cable, which is nearly 100 channels these days.  There's 4 main networks and a bunch of basic cable channels and then there's premium cable.  Some people have like 300 channels.

Re: 6 Degrees of Chris

Well its not uncommon here for people to have cable, but more dont i would think. Even then like i said maximum you are looking at if you got everything would be about maybe 100 channels i think. But this is completely off topic and i have to admit i dont know who Claudette Colbert is to do the next 6 degrees

Re: 6 Degrees of Chris

I have over 200 channels.  Although about 20 are spanish language channels, and there are also korean language channels and a few other languages.  Beyond that there are a lot of very specialized channels (Speed channel which only shows various kinds of vehicle racing, the Golf Network which is obvious what they show, the Food network which has a variety of shows concerning cooking or restuarants, The Game Show Network which shows...well you get it)  plus there are at least 20 Music channels which show videos of specific music types, (Country, rap, etc.) as well as MTV.

And FYI Claudette Colbert was an Oscar winning actress who was best know for her screwball comedies of the 1930s.

Re: 6 Degrees of Chris

In Germany, if you have cable or satellite (which almost everyone has), you generally have approximately 30 channels. About 10 of these are those that I'd never watch (Turkish or French language, shopping or sports channels). There's two government funded channels plus maybe five or six regional government funded channels, they have very few commercials and none after 8 PM. The rest are privately funded channels, and they litter every TV show or broadcast with commecials, sometimes worse than in the US. Of course all of these channels are in German, foreign-language stuff is dubbed. The only English language channel is CNN News.

If you're a fan of US TV shows, there's mainly (I think) five channels that show the primetime shows, all privately funded. Which means they're riddled with commercials, and sometimes with annoying banners in the middle of a scene that pop up and make noises. Ralf said he started watching some show on RTL2 (I think either Heroes or Stargate) and he found the commericals so annoying that he stopped watching.

I can't really speak to this since it's been ages that I've watched German TV. I'm sure they also have quality show or broadcasts, but I'm just not all that interested.

Re: 6 Degrees of Chris

Wow, Rick, you guys have music channels that actually show videos?  We don't.  Even CMT has pretty much done away with them.  MTV and VH1 are more like "reality" crap channels now.

And I happen to be a HUGE Food Network fan.  I mostly enjoy the travel & eat shows and my favorite thing on there right now is Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives.

And TeeJay, as I said there's 4 main American TV networks: ABC, CBS, NBC & FOX.  That's where the majority of our shows come from.  Or used to.  Nowadays, you've also got great shows on TNT and A&E at the basic cable level.  And of course there's always those great HBO & Showtime series.

Re: 6 Degrees of Chris

That's a bunch of channels!:P

Claudette Colbert was in "The Two Mrs. Grenvilles" with Stephen Collins
who was in "7th Heaven" with...

There was a period where I read everything Dominick Dunne ever wrote, saw every mini-series.  That was a good one, and it brought Ms. Colbert out of retirement.  The only other thing I remember her being in was "It Happened One Night" with Clark Gable.

Let's see.:/  How about George Peppard?

Re: 6 Degrees of Chris

Dunne has certainly written some great stuff over the years.  But I don't think I saw that one.  I'd like to though.  I'll have to think about Peppard.
