Hi :)

Hello all! Let's see, where to begin... Well, I just recently got into Joan of Arcadia, (last week to be exact, when they were running season 2 episodes on SciFi) and I found this site after I posted over on the IMDb boards. I knew people that used to watch the show, but I just never got the opportunity to catch it when it was on TV. After seeing about 3 episodes on SciFi, I ordered both seasons, and I just started the first season.

I was a Chris fan before that though. The first time I really noticed him was in Strong Medicine. I started watching the show because my mom liked it, and I remember thinking how adorable he was. After that it was The Girl Next Door, and then Just Friends. He was hysterical opposite Ryan Reynolds, and it is one of my favorite comedies. I have also seen Freddy vs. Jason, Alpha Dog, The Invisible, and Graduation.

I look forward to spending some time here and getting to know you all. It is a great site. I LOVE the pictures!! big_smile

Re: Hi :)

Welcome to the boards, DaniMarie. I think you'll fit in just perfect on this site. Everyone is really nice and cool on here. You should go and answer the questionnaire.  wink

Re: Hi :)

And a warm welcome from me too, DaniMarie! Glad you love the site. The other day I noticed we now have over 12,000 images in our gallery. yikes And it keeps growing.

As you might have surmised, pretty much all of us around here are huge JoA fans too. But if you haven't seen season 2 yet, I really suggest you stay out of the JoA section of the message board until you've finished watching season 2. Something happens at the end of season 2 that, if you don't know already, you should try to not get spoiled about. Kate (Warbee) had the same "problem" when she joined, so there is a spoiler-free discussion thread for JoA outside the Joan section in the Introduce Yourself section. If you like, you can discuss the show there as you keep watching: http://www.chris-marquette.com/forum/vi … php?id=743 smile

Why don't you answer our Chris questionnaire too, so that we can get to know you a little better.

Re: Hi :)

Welcome, Danimarie!  Nice to see you here.

But TeeJay, I think she saw the last few eps of JoA S2 that ran last week so she already knows about the Very Bad Thing.

I do hope you watch and enjoy the show from the beginning real soon, Danimarie.  It's really quite wonderful until network meddling started to ruin everything.  And definitely some of Chris's best work.

Yes, unfortunately I saw the end before the beginning, so I do know about the Very Bad Thing. Trial and Error just about killed me, even though I didn't know much about the characters at that point. I am currently on dic 5 of season 1, and I am really enjoying it smile

Re: Hi :)

Oooh, you're way in there already.  Awesome.  And so far you're shaking your head and thinking, no way Adam would EVER do the Very Bad Thing, right?

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. Indeed a bad way to start becoming a fan of JoA, but I do hope you're still gonna enjoy the heck out of it. smile

Yes! Even when I saw the episodes I thought the same thing, and I had only known Adam for like 2 episodes. It felt so wrong and WAY out of character.

I'm sorry you can't have the real Adam journey. But I'm sure you'll love him anyway.

I do still love him! It's really hard not to!

Indeed a bad way to start becoming a fan of JoA, but I do hope you're still gonna enjoy the heck out of it.

I am enjoying it very much smile It's like I want to keep going and see everything, but I want it to last longer. Two seasons are not enough :witsend:

Re: Hi :)

I know what you mean by wanting it to last longer.  I've been going through Friday Night Lights from the beginning and trying to draw it out for as long as possible because S2 & 3 were so short, it feels like we've only had 2 seasons so far.  And if you don't have DirecTV, you have to wait till Summer 2010!!! for Season 4.  It's insane.  I have a feeling that when I finally get to the end, I'll want to start over from the beginning.

As for JoA, I can't even tell you how many times I've seen it, or just watched the A/J parts at least.  I just adore that couple, a lot of us do.  So much so that we've probably poured out about 1,000 pages of fanfic on them so far.  Heck we have a story called Butterflies that's nearly 600 pages long its own self.  We're pretty hardcore.  lol

Re: Hi :)

I LOVE Friday Night Lights!! Matt and Julie are one of my favorite TV couples, even though they had a bumpy ride for a while. It's so unfair that people who don't have DirecTV have to wait longer, but I'm also happy that the show is at least getting a chance. I was so worried that it wouldn't be renewed after season 2, but as we know, that always seems to happen to the good shows...

I am definitely planning on reading Butterflies. From what I have read here, it is a VERY good story smile

Re: Hi :)

Matt & Julie are the definition of cute.  I adore him.  She bugs me sometimes, but ultimately I like her.  I just hated that crap with The Swede.  But Coach & Mrs. Coach are my favorite couple of all though.  It's just a wonderful show all the way around.  It's great that it's getting 2 more seasons, but it sucks that each of them will only be 13 eps long and will air on DirecTV first.

Season 1 Matt and Julie were so adorable. The thing with the Swede was ridiculous and I wish the writers never went there, but I guess it is what it is. I agree about Eric and Tami. They are so real and I love that.

Also, I just finished season 1 of JoA smile

Re: Hi :)

I only just started watching season 2 of FNL and OH!!! No, they cant do that. I guess it does happen and all that. But seriously. Can anyone stay faithful in this show sad Much disappointment but hey i still love Matt. And Julie is cool too, I will like her again soon enough. Just saw the second episode though where the Swede drove her to the football party, so not happy with her right now.

I REALLY loved it big_smile I'm hoping to start the second season soon, but I have family that is coming to visit, so it might be a few days...

I will like her again soon enough.

She gets better toward the end of the second season, and much better in the third. So at least there is something to look forward to smile

Re: Hi :)

It's pretty short.  Won't take you long.  Everyone goes a little crazy in S2, but they come back to themselves in S3.

Ha...I know!! He totally grossed me out. I have no idea what Julie saw in him.

This is true. I was SO happy with season 3 after everything that happened in season 2.

I made it through the first disc of the second season of JoA. I loved the episode with the cat. Larry the cat and Adam just had an understanding smile

Also, when Adam first sees Joan in the season premiere? The way he is so relieved when he finally gets to hug her? I am so in love with them as a couple (even though I know what ultimately happens sad).

Re: Hi :)

I know exactly what you mean about Adam's reaction to Joan when she first gets home from Crazy Camp.  That boy is soooooooo in love.  And for her it's like, "yeah, that's nice, get off me."  I didn't like her very much until about, oh, the end of Out Of Sight.  I know she was going through some stuff, but I just don't understand anyone taking Adam for granted the way she does at first.

BTW, did you know that we have some Adam & Joan centered episode recaps that you can get to from the front page?  Season One is complete.  TeeJay wrote them.  They're a lot of fun. I started recapping season 2, but I didn't get very far, sadly.  It's done up through The Cat.
