I know, I tear up just thinking about it, I can't stand scenes where someone is so helpless, I feel useless and worthless that I can't help them, I know it's just a movie but that stuff really happens and it disgusts me. Next to Silence of the Lambs I think this was Fosters best movie.

Yeah, I can't take violence that's so stark and realistic. After seeing it the first time, I now kind of avert my attention during that scene and I can't barely look at Jodie in the hospital immediately afterward either.
My favorite Jodie movie of all time is Contact. It was just right in my wheelhouse. And she was the closest to herself in that part too, I think. She was perfection.

I think you'll love it. She's just so... real and emotional in it. Warm, passionate. She doesn't get to play that often.
