Hi everybody, I'm new to the message board. After lurking here for a bit, I figured I should probably take the next step by registering and posting. I'm always hesistant to join message boards because I honestly suck at keeping up with them, but since I've been visiting this site so often I figured it may be easy for me to post regularly.
Anyways, my name is Brenna. I'm 18 and am currently living in Arizona, although I'm moving to Massachusetts this summer. I'm studying at Arizona State University right now and I haven't yet found the school I want to transfer to in MA. I'm a big fan of movies, television, and music - I also really like computers and photography. That's pretty much it about me, I'm not exactly an exciting person, haha.
Chris first caught my eye in Joan of Arcadia, although I was somewhat familiar with him when I was younger from the episode of Even Stevens he did and Up, Up, and Away (I was a Disney Channel nut, can ya tell? ) But anyways, I loved him in Joan and have since followed his career. I've seen every performance of his that I can get my hands on - he's such an outstanding actor.
You all have put a great site together, it took me days to explore everything. I'm glad to finally be posting here. Hopefully I can keep up with it!

Hi Brenna! Welcome. Hey, there's not exactly a rule that says you have to keep up with everything, ya know? Just pop in when you can and have fun with it. Of course, we'd love to hear your thoughts on all things Chris. He is kind of our favorite subject, in case you hadn't figured that out.
Don't know if you read about who we are, so I'll just tell you a little something. I'm Deb from Atlanta. Our other two WMs are TeeJay and Samsy-Marie, who live in different cities in Germany. We met on the CM board at the now defunct Versatile site. When it looked like Melissa was going to shut it down, we decided to make our own site. We've been very lucky to spend some time with Chris and we also talk to some of his industry colleagues and even his mom. Our goal here is to be the very best resource for info about Chris on the net. We'd honestly like to be official someday and we're always working toward that.
Beyond all that, we have a ridiculous amount of fun. Hope you'll hang out and join in.
Have you seen Alpha Dog yet? Just curious.

Hey Deb!
I did read that you and TeeJay met Chris, and I've heard both interviews as well. He sounds really down to earth, which is what I had expected.
I definitely remember Melissa's website since that was the only active site for Chris when I started to take notice in him. I was disappointed when it eventually closed, but I was glad to find that this site had opened. I hope you guys do become the official site one day, which is beginning to sound more and more likely.
I have seen Alpha Dog three times now, since I've been taking different people to see it at different times. I've read a lot of negative reviews on the movie, and although I do agree with certain points the reviewers make, I think the film relayed its message effectively. Really...that's what matters, at least in my opinion. Chris was, as always, awesome in his role. This actually was the first time I was able to see a movie of his in theaters, so that was cool.

I also saw AD in the theatre 3 times. The first time was on the college tour with Nick Cassavetes. Did you read about that too? It was so cool to meet and talk with Nick. What a cool guy! I really hope Chris does get to work with him again. I think I'd just about lose my mind if Nick offered him the role of Paul Berlin in Going after Cacciato. I'm halfway through the book and I can totally see Chris in that part.
Did you also read that I won Keith's leather wristband on eBay and got Chris to sign it at the FX Show? Man, we've just been so incredibly lucky ever since we decided to start this website. I can't help counting our blessings every day.
I hope we get to bring more very exclusive stuff to you guys really soon. And that we can secure another interview in April, which looks like a huge month for Chris.
Oh, and all the inside Fanboys stuff we've got is worth a mention too. Check in regularly to the Tribute thread for new pics you won't find anywhere else on the 'net. As we get closer to August and start to release more of the stuff we've got, it's gonna get a little nuts around here. Can't wait!
It's cool that you got to take a new person to AD each time. I went alone the second and third times, though I didn't really mind. Did you get to have interesting conversations about the movie. That's one good thing about going with someone else. I took my buddy Dave up to Athens with me to see it that first time and we talked about it a lot on the way home. My other close friend, Elaine walked out in that first party scene because of the testosterone overload and all the wanker talk. My best friend Steph will see it on DVD one day when she visits and she will giggle her butt off at Keith.
Unfortunately on the site, we can only talk about the movie in detail in the Spoiler thread since TeeJay and Anne won't be able to see it for a couple of months yet. I invited a few people from that severely messed up AD board at IMDB and we've got a little bit of a discussion going. Check it out. Don't be shy. I'm desperate to talk about the movie with another Chris fan. LOL!
Just watched it online yesterday and I had to go over and over certain scenes. And I bet you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Man, you've certainly done a lot to establish this resource for Chris, and I really appreciate it. I'm sure you know that it's frustrating to appreciate a certain actor (or any subject for that matter) and not be able to find any information or fellow fans. I'd kill to do half of what you've done for this website, it sounds like you've had a blast!
I've seen the Fanboys tribute thread and I love it! I seriously cannot wait for this movie.
I did get to have some interesting discussions about Alpha Dog with the people I took to the movie. A couple were really disturbed and shocked, to the point where they couldn't say they liked it at all, but a few friends of mine really enjoyed it and we talked at length about the story and the actors. Everyone agreed that Chris was awesome as Keith. My mom is a big fan of his as well, so she had lots to say about him.
I may head over to the Alpha Dog spoiler thread and see what's going on there.
Anyways, thanks for the warm welcome! I really do plan to stick around, haha.

Hi Brenna! A warm welcome from Germany! (I speak for Tina and me here, because Tina's currently on a business trip in Sweden.)
Thank God Alpha Dog's coming to our theaters on March 22, I can't wait to see it! (That's one thing I don't like about Germany. We have to wait aaaaaaages for the good movies. )
So your mom is also a big fan of Chris? Wow, cool. My mom doesn't get him.

Well, you know, like I said, it has all been luck in terms of the fun stuff we've gotten to do and the great people we've gotten to talk to. Just a few short months ago, we never would've dreamed that all these wonderful things would happen.
Of course TeeJay has poured a tremendous amount of time into building the site. She does most of the technical work. I'm not terribly savvy about that stuff.
We do have lot of fun around here. Hope to see you whenever you can drop by.

Hey! So I'm guessing you're Anne (or do you prefer Samsy-Marie?)
I really, really hope to visit Germany someday. As of now I've only been around North America, I need to get out more . I would hate having to wait for movies, though, that's got to suck. Especially when tons of people online have seen it already and stuff, blah.
My mom is a fan of Chris, yeah. She's not as into him as I am of course, but she watched JoA and Huff with me and has seen a few of his movies. Both of my parents are familiar with his work, actually, since we used to do TV nights and such.
Thanks for the welcome!!

Yeah, you're right, I'm Anne in real life. With an e.
On the internet I usually go with Samsy-Marie or just Samsy, you can choose one of those names. LOL
You wanna visit Germany? Are you sure? This place is soooo boring! Nothing is going on here.
Your mom watched JoA? Cool. My mom didn't like the show very much. I wonder what she would think about Huff, but I never showed it to her. And I don't think I ever will.
Well, she doesn't get Chris. She keeps saying he reminds her of somebody but she can't figure out who it is. Once I had a wallpaper from JoA as background on my comp and she asked me if that's Eminem there. I was like Mom, what did you just say? LOL This is not Eminem. Well, I have to say, he was wearing a hoodie and she doesn't know Eminem very well either and she knows from TV that he wears hoddies too, so I guess she just mixed them up. LOL But she's my mom and she should at least know that I'm not a fan of Eminem. Well, that's the thing with parents. LOL

Haha, I definitely want to visit Germany. Actually, I'd go anywhere outside of North America. And I'd probably go to Canada again, I like it a lot up there.
My dad actually watched JoA more than my mom did. Mom's only seen Season One on DVD, but Dad was the one who got me into the show while it was airing. I lent my JoA DVD set to my mom after she saw Huff and Just Friends, she was curious to see him in different roles since James and Mike were such polar opposites.
Eminem! Haha! That's great, although I can't blame her for associating hoodies with Eminem. I bet Chris doesn't get that a lot though, LOL.

Nope, mostly he gets John Cusack.
That's so cool that you guys watched Huff. I get so frustrated that no one I know has ever seen that show, much less Chris's work in it. I just loved James. Such a little jerk! I adored his first ep, Sweet Release. And I really enjoyed the scene where he got all menacing on Byrd. "It is Biblical what I would do to you." It was just fascinating watching him work with Anton again a year after AD. Looks like they became pretty good friends. Guess that's why Anton seemed to stick so close to him at the Sundance premiere of the movie last year.
We should do something in the People Who Should Never Meet thread about James and Mike. I think James would lose patience with Mike in about 30 seconds and just beat the crap out of him. LOL!

Yeah, he gets John Cusack the most. Didn't someone call him "a teenage-mopey John Cusack" in one of the American Gun reviews? I remember something. But since I am also a big John Cusack fan I don't mind the comparison. They should definitely play< together one day.
And he also gets Bob Dylan sometimes. At least with that my mom was right. LOL She said something when we were listening to some Bob Dylan songs a while ago.
A PWSNM about James and Mike, yeah, that should be interesting. Or how about James and Eli? I bet Eli and Mike would be best friends, that should also be funny. LOL

Hi Brenna!
So glad to have you with us and another warm welcome from Germany. I'm back from my business trip, finally. I think Deb and Anne already said most of the important stuff. My real name is Tina, I'm the other German gal here, and one of the webmasters. And right now I'm trying to catch up with all that I've missed the past four days while I was in Uppsala and Stockholm. Which was pretty cool, but very cold. Lots of snow and temps in the -5 to -10 °C range. Brrrrrr! <shivers> I'm so glad I took my woollen toque and gloves!
Unfortunately, I have such bad tension in my back muscles right now that I'm totally not up to staying at the computer longer than I have to, so I'm gonna comment on all those new posts tomorrow after I get back from the doc (and hopefully feel better). Tonight I just need to curl up on the couch with a hot water bottle and binge on TV...
I will talk to you guys tomorrow and be a bit more vocal on things. Because I'm usually very chatty. Right?

Hey TeeJay!
Good to finally "meet" you, haha! I'm happy to see that you got home safe, but I hope your back feels better!
I don't know if I would be able to handle the weather you were in (although, I'll have to soon!). Since I'm from Phoenix, the coldest our winters get is around 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4 degrees Celcius). Although, at the moment I'm visiting Massachusetts and preparing to move here, and it's a bit colder. It will definitely be a change though, I'm so used to the heat!
Thanks for the welcome, and again, I hope you feel better

Hey gals, I'm back. Went to see the orthopedist. Got a couple injections into my back and I'm off work until Wednesday. Already feel a little better. I also got a prescription for six physiotherapy sessions to hopefully help in the long run. God, I hope it does, I'm so sick of these back problems. But enough whining.
As to weather conditions, it's very mild here in Germany. For winter anyway. We're having around 10 to 15 °C right now. I'm not sure I could handle -10 °C very well for longer periods of time, but I guess you get used to that too after a while. It was certainly too cold for me for just these few days in Sweden. I hope it works for you in Massachusetts. I'm a biologist myself, but I work in clinical research with a pharmaceutical company now. And I'm a big TV/movie buff and just looooove my computer(s).
I'll have to go do some shopping now since my fridge is totally empty, but I'll come back later to answer some of the other threads I haven't yet commented on while I was away.

No way, you guys would never bore me! I'd kill to be bored right now. I'm reading the boards as often as I can, but these past few months have been sort of insane. Right now I'm in Pennsylvania visiting family for a week. Then when I get back, I've got two friends visiting, one in mid-July and one during the first two weeks of August. But don't worry, I'll be around more as soon as I get home and am able to find a better wireless connection.

Hi everyone! I've been gone WAY too long...
I'm back in Arizona now after my year in Boston. The move, work, school, and my attempt at a social life has kept me away.
Someone give me a quick update as to what's been going on! I've missed chatting on here bunches.

Hey, Brenna. So nice to see you again. Wow, where to begin? How 'bout you ask questions? A quick perusal of all the recently updated movie threads will bring you up to date on Chris's activities. And the other recents post in the unrelated threads have some good stuff in them too. Lots of new pics in the gallery. And tons of great stuff on the horizon. Here's the Reader's Digest version...
Graduation's out on DVD and it's a wonderful little movie, especially if you're a fan of any of the main actors, even more so if you love Chris. We have like 410 new screencaps and lots of vidcaps too.
Remember The Daze (aka The Beautiful Ordinary) comes to DVD on 6/3 and it's a fun little movie with a wild performance by Chris and also features his bro, Sean playing his brother for the first time ever.
The Race To Witch Mountain shoot is winding down for Chris. He finishes up in about a week and is excited to be on location in Las Vegas this week.
He's got a big new project lined-up that starts almost immediately after RTWM which we hope to learn more about soon.
It looks like things are turning around for the better with Fanboys. It was recently published in an interview with Kyle Newman that he and the original creative team are back on the movie and news about its release will be announced soon.
Early word on Infestation is very good and we may start seeing an online presence for the movie soon, with more news about it to be announced this summer.
