Re: Lost

Charlie was my fave in S1 too.  But he's way under-used in S2 and S3 so far.  It's a damn shame.

Re: Lost

Yeah, when was the last good Charlie episode? Can't even remember that far back. He should be on the show more! And I hope what Desmond said won't come true!!

Re: Lost

I just hope the next DVD will be better. I mean, the episode are not completely unwatchable but it sucks when you have to turn on the sound to the fullest and it's still almost silent. I'm going to watch that special now and then look at the other DVDs.

Re: Lost

Well, the sound thing is nothing I can do about. I didn't encode the episodes. The person who did that decided what volume level to use and I don't see how that could have anything to do with buring the episodes to DVD. Maybe the other episodes work better for you. I don't recall having sound problems with Lost in s1, but it's been a while since I've seen the episodes. And I also have Bosco hooked up to the stereo, so I can easily turn the volume up. Maybe you should get yourself a good pair of external speakers for the computer, Anne. You can get them relatively cheap nowadays. Maybe you can work on your dad to buy them for you. wink

Re: Lost

I don't think it's the speakers's fault. The two pilot episodes and that special thing worked fine. But like I said, it's not that the episodes are completely unwatchable. I can live with that as long as the other DVDs are okay.

Re: Lost

The last good Charlie ep (sort of) was week before last.  The Desmond-centric one.  That's the most Charlie we've seen in a while.

Re: Lost

Okay, just finished watching episode 11. There was still some damage, and at one point there was nothing to hear at all, but I think that was just a few seconds, so I am not really missing anything. At least I hope so. Checked the 12th episode for a few seconds, it seems to be okay. More later.

Re: Lost

Some good news and some bad news: The other episodes worked fine, exept 1x15 - Homecoming. That one doesn't even start. I tried playing it with PowerDVD, WMP, I tried copying it to the comp, but nothing worked. sad

Re: Lost

Man, you got issues with thoses DVDs of mine, don't you? Has there ever been one that worked right away? I'll send 1x15 on another CD. Good thing I haven't sent off your stuff yet.

Re: Lost

I know, this sucks, man. But I can't help it. I mean, I wouldn't mind if that episode was a little damaged, like the other first ones, because they're still watchable, even with the sound problems. But 1x15 seems to be more damaged. WMP said something about a missing codec or something. The other ones worked at least with the comp. Some of them didn't work in the DVD player, but that wasn't that bad because they still worked with the comp. You are a true marvel to send me that episode again! Thanks so much! (Maybe I should control the other episodes in advance? wink)

Re: Lost

Missing codec? Then that's not the DVD's fault. What format is the episode? Maybe you can install the right codec and it'll work. Let me take a look at my version and I'll e-mail you about it, okay?

Re: Lost

Well, it's avi format, just like all the others on the DVD. But I didn't have that problem with the other epiosdes. This is strange somehow.

EDIT: I just realized that episode 14 has also a little damage at one point, but it's not that bad. It just stops there and I have to go on a few seconds later. I can live with that.

Okay, so Sawyer and Hurley killed Nikki and Paolo? That's just wrong!!! (And for some reason this episode had French subtitles.... But I just ignored them. Learned how to do that when I watched Alpha Dog.)

Re: Lost

The plot thickens. Deb, are you caught up with Lost? Things are just getting weirder and weirder.

SPOILERS TO FOLLOW

And I was ready to trust Juliette. Wow. She's gonna get everyone in big trouble, isn't she? Can't wait for next week.

And I absolutely love this shot. Very beautiful.

Re: Lost

I was finally able to catch up on the last three episodes this past weekend.
I loved the Nikki/Paulo episode. It reminded me of an old Hitchcock story in a sense. Plus it had a Billy Dee Williams cameo. big_smile
"Plywood"
"Power lines"
"Paulo Lies"
"Paralyzed"
LOl. Awesome!

And the Juliette ending on the last episode was interesting..I can't wait to see what happens!

Re: Lost

Oh yeah, I noticed Billy Dee as well. Too cool. I think the show had a bit of a lull for a while (most of the stuff that played on the other island), but it seems to be back with a vengeance now. What's up with Locke??? Where'd he go?

Re: Lost

Locke! I was wondering about that too! He's just a total mystery altogether...and the black mist/cloud thing? We find out that it can't go past the "Other's" barrier. I'm so confused, what is that thing?

Re: Lost

Geez, don't get me started on the black cloud thing. It's just beyond my comprehension what that might be. Locke would say it's the island. I would say I don't have the slightest clue. I just know that it's a little too supernatural for my taste.

Re: Lost

They ran a catch-up special tonight before the season finale, so I watched both.  Wow, you guys are right.  Things sure did get interesting.  Finally.  Blame my intense love of Medium and my lack of a second TV for no video taping of late.

The end is of course a crazy twist.  Wait till you see it.  Wow.

And can I just say, Dom... Dom... Dom...   :crying:

Re: Lost

Some Lost/Laptop rant: Cooper is sooooo great! big_smile I just watched about six or seven Lost episodes in a row. Yeah, well, that's much, I know, but somehow I am getting better with understanding the more episodes I watch in a row. So I took the chance and watched the Season 2 eps I had left lying flat on my bed. That was kinda great. LOL
Now I have 13 Season 3 episodes left until I get the next package, so I am going to watch a couple more tonight and tomorrow. Yay! big_smile
