Back in the days of VHS, I was watching a heavily censored version of (the original) Last House on the Left when my sister's then boyfriend entered the room and declared that I was a "sicko" for having rented the video

At a certain part in your life. Probably when too much of it has gone by. You will open your eyes and see yourself for who you are. Especially for everything that made you so different from all the awful normals.

Well, the original is pretty gross. I know people love it, but I think it's a terrible excuse for a movie. And honestly, I wouldn't have the slightest interest in the new one if not for the cast, and most especially because I saw a trailer in which STC looked and acted so Adamy I just knew I'd have to see the damn thing.

I read very negative things about the remake, and, like I mentioned, I never actually saw the original, really, since I had to turn it off after the comment made by my sister's then beau. I found it quite seedy, in any case.
I just Netflixed "The Virgin Spring," the Ingmar Bergman film that originally "inspired" Wes Craven. Assuming that I actually watch The Virgin Spring, it will be the first Bergman film that I have ever seen ( ! )

I just saw the Virgin Spring a couple of weeks ago. It is actually very watchable (if you have no problem with subtitles) Most of bergman's films are less than 90 minutes long, so that helps. It is also interesting how much the 2 films have in common(considering one is a modern horror film and the other is an art film set in the Middle Ages). The biggest difference is that the Last House on the Left is just about horror. Where as The Virgin Spring is horrorfying and then beautiful. Give it a real chance, it is worth it.
Joan: So, my true nature is to be a catalyst? That is mad anti-climatic.
God: Anti climactic. Anti-climatic means you're against the weather.

The Last House On The Left remake has better acting in my opinion and overall I like it better than the original.
