Why couldn't Jeremy Renner have been in these movies before The Unusuals? People might have actually watched it then... but he might not have been in it though now that he's a movie star.

Spiels has a million other ORIGNAL things he could do, I bet. So yeah, if he takes this one on, I'm pretty disappointed in him. And remember, he's a writer too. He has written his own stuff and he might have a hand in that script. But either way, what's the point?

I've never seen Mad Max without it being dubbed with American accents. I know they finally released the original version, but since it was never one of my favorite movies in the first place I never went back and watched with the original dialog. I liked Road Warrior better. I think the script that's been floating around out there for a remake for many years was supposed to be some combination of the first two films, but I don't know if this production would be using that script or a completely different one.

So... Peter Berg, who I like very much as creator and showrunner of my favorite series, Friday Night Lights (and the movie on which it's based), has decided to take on Dune. Now, I never liked the original book. I had to read it in high school, but I was so bored, I stopped reading after book one of the first novel. I still got a 98 on the test though because I listened to the discussion in class and picked up everything I needed to know. That is as far into the Dune universe as I ever ventured. When David Lynch's movie came out, a lot of my friends wanted to see it --- probably because of Sting in a futuristic loin cloth. But I didn't see it until it came to video. And I didn't like it much at all. Some of it was fun, but a lot of it was just well, kinda boring and very silly. I liked the score though, by Toto. Yes, Toto. Bite me. I love those guys, all 27 of them.

Anyway... so they make more movies that I never see because there was no one in them I cared about and the Dune universe bores me. But now here I am, very intrigued with the idea of a Pete Berg Dune movie. Even though we need another one like we need a hole in the head. At least this one probably will have some balls...

OK, this intrigues me. I've seen two previous adaptations that were both made for TV and both kind of lame. With talent like that behind this version, it could be something great.
