What's even funnier is that in the episode she works for a guy named Polk.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

Damn, I could've watched that!  I was already on CBS watching Medium, but I switched over to Bill Maher at 10.  Becky should really warn us about this stuff over Facebook or something.  Someone needs to teach that girl the meaning of social networking.  LOL!

Becky's part was really small. She only had one very short scene and a few lines.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

I just watched an Angel ep with both Sammy #1 and Aimee Garcia in it!  It's from Season 3 and it's called Birthday.  Great one, the one where TPTB make Cordy part demon so she can handle the visions.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

I saw the Proposal with my parents the other day and was surprised to see Mary (the mother on JoA) in the movie. She did good in it. It was a pretty funny movie as well.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

LOL!  You don't have to remind anyone on this board who Mary is.  wink

Why were you surprised to see her in the movie?  Or that she was good?

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

By the way, I didn't have time to post it in the other thread yet, but I bought What's Eating Gilbert Grape on DVD a few days ago. When I started watching JoA I almost didn't recognize her, but nowadays I just love her in that movie. LOL

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

Oh, I love the movie in general, too. I think it even was the reason I became a fan of DiCaprio looooooooooooooong ago. LOL
And since I only knew the German version and the DVD was cheap I thought it would be great to buy it to be able to see the English version, too. It's just the German title that sucks (as always). They named it "Somewhere in Iowa", but probably because they couldn't come up with a translation for "What's eating Gilbert Grape." LOL

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

I saw Proposal yesterday and absolutely loved Mary in it. big_smile I went to her IMDB page and and gawd, the lady just keeps getting more and more roles! yikes:D Not complaining, of course. Love her in everything. Ever since I saw Back to the Future 3. big_smile

Oh, and I also saw the pilot episode of the Cougar town. Dan Byrd was so cute in it big_smile And playing well, of course. Good chemistry betwee him and Courtney Cox. Real mom/son vibe there.. or rather like they're friends. She looks way too young to have a son that old! Was Dan's character supposed to be like 18? He looks more like 20. He looks a bit too mature to the school. But it all looks good anyways. erm, sorry for the mixed up minireview. lol

I just wasn't expecting it. I wasn't surprised she was good. She's always good. smile I actually saw her before I saw JoA. I recognized her from Back to the Future 3. Another great movie.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

Just teasin'.  I'm a looooooong time Mary fan.  I fell in love with her and her husband (at the time), Malcolm McDowell when I first saw Time After Time on cable in 1980.  Yeah, I'm that old.  lol

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

I must be even older because I go back one film to Goin South, a dreadful movie, but she was fanatastic.  That is the main reason I went to see Time after Time, where she was even better.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

I saw Goin' South on cable a couple of years later and I didn't care much for it either.  But she was just so darned adorable!  I did really love Melvin & Howard though.  It was a terrific little movie all the way around.

Yep.  I stil remember how cute she was when she accepted her Academy Award.  And how she told everyone she was lactating.  She'd just given birth to Lilly not long before the awards.  smile

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

I finally saw The Starter Wife. I absolutely adore Lou Monahan in it. big_smile Very charmant and funny. I wonder what papa G would think of Lou's little stunt there. lol I think I've still got one episode to go before it ends. It has 6 eps, right? It's been on Finnish TV and I've been saving them up on my "Tivo". Wanted to see all at once since it's a miniseries. I thought I'd make a weekend out of it but happened to watch five of them yesterday. Last one airs next tuesday. I first tried watching it thru surfthechannel last spring but they didn't have many links that I could watch here, in the far corner of Earth. Finnish TV people have been very "wise" again and translating the title from "The Starter Wife" to "Devorced woman". I think they picked the easy way out. There would have been a window to play with the words a little. We don't really have a term that means the same as 'starter wife'.
