VALENTINE - A Future Butterflies Smut Fic (RATED R - MATURE ONLY!)

Valentine

by Sisterdebmac & Carol

(possible future Butterflies)

Deb's Author's Note:  This started as a possible story for TeeJay's Alphabet Soup series, but she got very inspired and finished it out herself.  But we thought it was sweet enough to post on its own.  Takes place in the "possible" future of Butterflies when Adam and Joan are about 27 and EJ is about 2 ½.

Carol's author's note: I loved TeeJay's Alphabet Soup stories.  They rock!  And I always love to have some new A/J stories to read.  I love to think of Adam & Joan in the future; still as romantic and funny as ever.  E.J. is so cute, it's fun to see Adam with a baby.

Synopsis: Adam & Joan celebrate their 5th Valentine's Day together since reuniting with a special date while Aunts Grace & Karen mind their little girl.

Rating:R for sweet smut.  Mature Audiences only!!!

Genre:  Total angst-free fluff.

Disclaimer:
They're not ours... blah blah blah. Barbara Hall... blah blah blah. CBS... blah blah blah. With apologies once again to all of the above and to the actors for turning the God show into porn.

Joan Rove was practically giddy as she looked at herself in the boutique's triple mirror.  She had found herself the perfect dress.  It was, of course, vivid red and had a tight bodice and a full skirt.  It was beautiful and extremely flattering to her figure.  It made her feel pretty and confident in a way she hadn't since before her pregnancy.

"So what's the big plan tomorrow night?" Karen asked as she helped Joan get the dress to hang just the right way over her hips.

"You don't know?"

"I swear."

"He won't tell me," Joan pouted.  "But I know he had his wedding tux cleaned and pressed."  The girlish little squeak she emitted when she said that made Karen giggle.

The seamstress came over to see how they were doing and she gasped. "Sweetie, I think that looks spectacular. You're gonna knock his socks off."

Joan grinned. "Thanks, Jess, that's my only goal.  The alterations are perfect." She reached for her credit card.

"No-no, Adam already took care of everything when you picked out the dress last month.

Joan leaned over conspiratorially. "Did he tell you where we're going?"

"Nope, he just said that it's been a while since you guys had real date and he wanted it to be really special."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"It's true, you know?" Joan said as she drove Karen home from the boutique.
"What?"
"We haven't had a real date since... our anniversary last year?  Wow."
"Well, you're busy people and you have a beautiful baby girl at home."
"I think lately even my parents get more action than we do," Joan deadpanned.
Karen laughed.
"Seriously.  They've decided that they're gonna go try Cabo for themselves, for their 35th Valentine's Day.
Mom says they've always been kind of jealous of our honeymoon stories."
"Joan!"  Karen mock-gasped.  "What have you been telling your mother?"
Joan giggled a bit.  "Only the really romantic stuff."
"So, all of it."
"God no!"
They giggled.
"Mom's been dragging me from store to store looking for clothes and stuff for the trip."
"I thought you enjoyed grown-up mommy & me time."
"I do.  She's been so sweet and such a big help ever since I got pregnant with Lizzie.  And we do have fun when we can get away and just hang-out.  Lucky Lizzie loves her daddy so much."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Earlier that Friday afternoon, Joan had been surprised when she was called to the reception desk.  Adam had sent her flowers and a gift certificate for a full day at Elan, Arcadia's nicest salon and day spa.  It was for the works:  body wrap, massage, facial, manicure/pedicure, hair and make up.  His idea was that she go on Saturday.  He really wanted her to feel pampered and fully relaxed for their evening.

The funny thing was that when Karen called Joan on her lunch break to see if they were still going to pick up her new dress after work, she reported that Grace had given her the same gift.

So it was decided that they would go and have their spa day together and get Joan all blissed out for her special date with her husband.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At home that night, after putting the baby to bed, Joan again tried to get Adam to spill even the smallest detail about their Valentine's night plans.  "Come on honey, just a hint?  Why are you being so secretive?  What, are we going to The White House or something?"
He laughed as he turned down their bed and switched off the overhead light, leaving only their bedside lamps illuminated.  "No, not that far.  Nice imagination, though."
"Aduuuuhhm," she whined.
He wouldn't budge.  "You'll see," he smiled.  He sat down on the bed and kicked off his slippers.
"But you did make sure we have a reservation, right?  We shouldn't take any chances."  She picked up his cell off his side table and held it out to him.  "Maybe you'd better call and confirm."
"So you can check the outgoing phone numbers on my cell?  I don't think so."
She harrumphed and pouted and it was so cute he just had to lean over and kiss her.
"You let me worry about dinner.  Just enjoy your spa day with Karen tomorrow, come home looking gorgeous, and I'll take care of the rest."
"That's a tall order," she said.
"You always look beautiful, Jane.  But I think it'll be fun to get really dressed up for the evening."  And with that he slipped in under the covers and turned off his bedside lamp with finality.
Seeming to give up, Joan crawled into bed beside him.  But she wasn't quite done.  "Will you at least confirm the reservation tomorrow?"
"Why are you so worried about it?"
"It's just that I don't want anything to go wrong, and Lilly told me the other day Kevin had an awful time getting a reservation at Blu for Saturday night.  He was wait-listed at first and he called a month ago. She said he really had to throw his weight around."
"That's great that they finally got a reservation," Adam replied, unperturbed.  "But we're not going to Blu."  He pretended to stifle a yawn and kissed her cheek.  "Boy, I'm beat!  Night, Honey."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After a full day of spa pampering (well except for the leg waxing – that hurt!), Joan felt wonderful.  She was relaxed and ready for her big evening with her husband.  And in her new dress, she also felt like a bit of a knock-out, if she did say so herself.  She was kind of glad her father wasn't around to see the way it clung to her hips, and cradled her ample bosoms.  The lingerie, she hadn't told anyone about, not even Karen... black satin and lace panties and a matching camisole, and garters with "nude" stockings.  She hadn't worn garters for him in years.  Her hair was done in large, loose curls that fell around her bare shoulders in the most delightful way.  She felt as beautiful as she had at her wedding, nearly four years earlier.  She was so anxious for Adam to see her that she had butterflies the whole way home.  She was just glad that Karen was driving instead of her!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
His chores virtually completed, and most of his dinner in the oven, Adam breathed a sigh of relief.  Now all he needed to do was get the baby ready to head over to spend tonight and tomorrow at Grace and Karen's place.  Though she hardly ever spent a night away from her parents, Lizzie loved having the rare sleepover with her aunts or with Gamma and Papa.  With Joan's folks out of town, Karen and Grace had happily agreed to borrow Elizabeth Jane so that her parents could spend a rare weekend alone together.  Even Lizzie had helped, choosing which toys to take with her and agreeing to keep it down to only six stuffed animals.
"Think Mommy will like all this, Lizzie Jane?" Adam asked, walking through the house with the baby in his arms making sure everything looked perfect.
"Pwesents?"
Her father chuckled.  "Well, she's getting a clean house, a fancy dinner, and a night or two alone with Daddy.  You think it's lame?"
"Not lame," in a tone that clearly implied that Lizzie thought he should've popped for some major jewelry or at least a 10-pound box of chocolates.
"But you think there should be a real present, like in a box?"
She nodded enthusiastically.  "Mommy likes pwesents!"  She clapped her hands and giggled.
"I'm getting her a necklace and earrings for our anniversary in April.  Tonight Mommy and Daddy just need a little alone time.  She works so hard and she does so much.  There's just so much going on in our lives, you know?  We miss each other.  Understand?"
"Yeah," she said.  She knew Mommy and Daddy liked "lone time".  She was just happy that she was gonna get to stay with Auntie Grace's dog, Caesar.  She wanted a dog of her own so much.  Though there had been crying, begging, and pleas on her behalf from her Uncle Kevin, who knew a guy who bred Irish setter puppies, both of her parents were sticking to their guns that she was too young to have a dog.  They promised her that they would be willing to revisit the issue when she was in what she called kinnygarden.  Until then, Caesar was her best buddy.
Making sure he had everything she would need packed into her overnight bag, Adam closed it and just watched his daughter in awe for a moment.  She was so adorable, just like her mother.  And so seemingly lost in her own little world right now, just like her dad.  While he'd been getting the house ready, Lizzie had occupied herself by sitting on the kitchen floor with a giant roll of butcher paper and her finger paints.  Adam thought it was a good idea for her to get painting out of her system before visiting Aunt Karen and Aunt Grace's freshly-painted house. He knew that their place provided enough fun and distractions without painting but, given Aunt Karen's tendency to spoil Lizzie on her occasional visits, Daddy was taking no chances.
Bags packed he turned his full attention back to Lizzie.  "Is THAT what you're planning to wear, Miss Rove?"
She looked down at her apparel; an old, ruined t-shirt of Adam's that was covered with patches of paint from Lizzie's various artistic efforts, as well as a mysterious maroon blob that may at one time have been nail polish.  "No, Daddy!  Change clothes," she giggled.
Moments later, Lizzie had selected her outfit for the trip down the block to her aunts' house: white tights with a red jumper over a white, lace-trimmed blouse and her pink coat, for "Valatyme's Day", and black, patent leather shoes.  Just as he finished brushing her hair and tying it with a red ribbon, she heard the door downstairs.  Oh, crap, he thought.  Was he running that late?
"Rove?  You home?" Grace called up the stairs.
"Up here," he called, breathing a sigh of relief.  "In Lizzie's room."
Grace ran up the stairs and right into Lizzie's bedroom, the room that had been Adam's when he was growing up.  "Hey, EJ!  You look pretty," Grace smiled.  Then turned to Adam.  "You kill me putting her in her pink and lace girly clothes.  You know I'll have her in jeans and a sweat shirt as soon as I get her home."
"And that's probably for the best, but she likes to dress up when she goes somewhere," he stressed.
"Yeah, Rove.  She's 2 an' a half.  Cooler heads are supposed to prevail.  It's February and you've got her legs hanging out like it's summer in Fort Lauderdale," Grace made a face at him.  She loved nothing more than teasing her oldest friend, especially when he was nervous.  She winked at the baby.  Lizzie giggled, as she always did when her Auntie Grace was on a roll.
"Grace, what have I told you about not picking a fight with a toddler when the outcome really doesn't matter?"
She rolled her eyes and nodded at him.
"Anyway, she's wearing a coat," Adam continued in hid own defense.  "And the tights will keep her legs warm.  Quit fussing."
"Fine," Grace said in mock disgust.  "Is that what you're wearing?  Because I hear that Girardi is dressed to the nines tonight.  You need to spruce up a bit there, Chief."
Adam looked down at his clothes and groaned.  In addition to handling a paint-covered toddler, he'd been cleaning, cooking and decorating the house for his big night alone with his wife.  He'd showered and shaved just before Lizzie woke from her nap, but hadn't had time to get himself ready for Joan's arrival.  Groaning, he handed the baby to Grace.  "Please. Can you?…" he begged.
"Us girls have it under control, right EJ?  Go!"
"Go, Daddy!" Lizzie giggled, raising her little fists in the air to cheer him on.
Not five minutes later, Adam ran back into Lizzie's room, but found that Grace and Lizzie had gone downstairs.  Lizzie was sitting on the living room rug watching Grace light candles.
"Karen called.  They're about five blocks from here.  I didn't know what to do in the kitchen, but I can light candles…"
"Thanks, Grace.  Well," he cleared his throat, "how do I Iook?"
Grace suppressed a snicker.  Why did he get so nervous after all this time?  She was his wife, for crying out loud!  Oh, well, that was Rove.  Take nothing for granted.  "You look ridiculous.  She'll love it!"
Adam breathed a sigh of relief.  "Thank you.  What do you think, Lizzie?"
His baby girl got really still in that odd way that he often did and stared at him.  Her expression said it all.  She had never seen her father any more dressed up than in the business casual clothes he wore to work.  Generally when he had meetings that required him to wear a suit to the office, he left the house before she woke up.  She'd never seen him in formal wear, and thought he looked dazzling.  She reached out to him and he grinned and picked her up.
"How does Daddy look?"
"Pwiddy!" she squealed.  Her tiny hands reached out and stroked his satin lapels.  "Shiny Daddy," she sighed.
"Thank you, Sweetie," he murmured.  "Let's hope Mommy likes it."
"Mommy like shiny."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"So, you ready for this?"  Karen asked as they pulled into the driveway behind Grace's car.

Joan smiled big, "Can't wait."

As they got out of the car, Grace walked out the front door, holding Lizzie's hand and carrying all of her gear.  Lizzie broke free and toddled to her mother.

"Hey baby," she said kneeling down to pick her up.

"Pwiddy Mommy," Lizzie said, taking a lock of Joan's wavy hair in her hand and just feeling it like it was spun silk.  "Daddy shiny too."

"What's that, honey?"

Grace interjected, "Uh, yeah, he's just as pretty and shiny as you.  So get on in there and start your evening already.  We've got the munchkin."

"So, he's in there?"

"With bells on, waiting for you.  Go on, we'll call you tomorrow."

Joan quickly kissed her daughter's cheek, then wiped away the lipstick residue she left there.  "You be a good girl.  Mind your aunties."

"OK Mommy."

Grace installed Lizzie's car seat into Karen's car as Karen grabbed the little girl's bag and budgie and slid them onto the empty back seat on the driver's side of the car.  When Grace was done, she stood and reached out for her, "Come on, EJ"

"Thanks again for doing this, guys," Joan said, as her daughter reached out for Grace.  "I hope we didn't spoil any of your plans."

"Come on, Girardi, you know I don't do Valentine's Day," Grace said, taking Lizzie from Joan's arms.

"Sure you do," Karen piped up.  "You just do it on the 15th or 16th."

Everyone laughed at this, including Grace, who lifted the baby high into the air, then brought her slowly back down.  "That's right, half price chocolates, discount flowers.  I'm always thinking!"  She caught a glimpse of Adam in an upstairs window, signaling to her.  "We gotta go.  Say goodbye to Mommy, EJ"

"Goodbye Mommy, E-day," the little girl crowed.

"Thanks again.  We really appreciate it."

"De nada," Karen grinned.  "When else can I get in the Lizzie line ahead of your mother?"

"EJ," Grace whispered to Lizzie.  "She likes EJ  Right?" Grace grinned at her Goddaughter.

"E-day," Lizzie laughed, as Grace stowed her in the car seat.  "Bye Mommy."  She waved.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After watching three of her favorite girls drive away, Joan entered her front door.  "Adam," she called out.  She took off her coat and hung it in the hall closet.  "So much for making an entrance," she mumbled.  Then she noticed, for the first time, the immaculate living room.  The carpet and upholstery were spotless.  There were now arrangements of red roses and candles on the coffee and end tables.  The lights were low and there was romantic music playing.  With a start she realized that Lizzie's toy box and all the other seemingly endless paraphernalia that comes with small children was curiously absent.
As she stared, open-mouthed at the incredible appearance of the first floor of her home, Adam rushed downstairs.
"Welcome home," he murmured, nuzzling her ear and languidly sliding his fingers down her bare arms, marveling at the silken texture of her polished skin.  I need to send her to that spa more often, he thought to himself.
"It's amazing, Adam!  How did…"
She turned around and they got their first good look at each other.  Adam, she saw, was wearing his tuxedo with a red tie and a rosebud in his lapel.
They were each so stunned by how great the other looked that they began speaking at the same time:  "Adam… You…  How…"  "Oh, Jane!"
She giggled and gave him a quick hug, relaxing them both a bit.  "Sorry," she whispered. "You first."
"I was just gonna say that you look stunning.  I know I said to look gorgeous, but that doesn't begin to cover it."
"You, too," she said, her voice clogged with emotion.  "I've been trying to figure out where you're taking me, but we're already there, aren't we?  You really did all this yourself?"
"Yes ma'am.  All me."
"No one helped you?  Karen?"
"Jane!  It was me!  I cleaned, I cooked, I picked out the wine, the music..."
"I know!  You called my mom."
"No way!  OK, maybe I wanted to, but your folks are out of town, remember?"
Her eyes filled with tears. "So... you?"
"All me," he reiterated.
"You're amazing," she said enthusiastically.  "No one could ever tell a baby lived in this house.  Something smells delicious.  What are we having?"
"Beef Wellington, cauliflower au gratin, creamed spinach, and chocolate mousse.  Hungry?  Dinner will be ready in about 30 minutes."
"Sounds incredible," she sighed.  "What can I do to help?"
"It's already done," he said.  "Go sit down while I put in the popovers."
Popovers,  She thought.  Wow.
How sweet was all this?  She looked around again, taking it all in.  She went to the table and picked up one of the already filled wine glasses.  She took a sip and did a double-take at how nice it was.  She as sure it wasn't from their usual inexpensive little stock.
"They'll be out in about half an hour," he told her when he returned.  As she scooted over so he could sit beside her, he shook his head and bowed.  "May I have this dance?"
She stood and gave him a mock curtsy, then wrapped her arms around his neck.  The fell into step easily and she laid her head on his shoulder for a moment, marveling in the feeling of how their bodies just seemed to so naturally fit together. "Remember the first time we danced?" she whispered.
"Sure, I do.  I'd been asking you all night and you kept shooting me down."
"You were so mad at me."
"Well, yeah.  You danced with some other guy!  Who turned out to be, you know... God," he chuckled.
"He's not a bad dancer," she smiled, "but our dance was better, outside, in the moonlight, under the stars…"
"On the sidewalk, no music," he laughed.
"One of the best dances I've ever had."
"Me, too," he sighed, burying his face in her hair.
Over the delicious dinner they talked about their courtship, or courtships.
"I knew almost the minute I saw you.  Love at first sight," he told her.
"Took me far too long to come around," she said ruefully.
"I wasn't much of a catch."
"Don't say that.  Don't ever say that.  You can get nostalgic for the good stuff, but the days of you not believing in yourself are long, long past."
He reached for her hand across the table and she watched his brow furrow.  She said, "I always knew there was something special about you.  There was always a.... connection... a much stronger one than just friendship between us. I just didn't understand that I loved you at first."
His voice was so quiet, so filled with emotion it was barely above a whisper.  "That's your gift, Jane.  You see the best in people."
Did she?  She wanted that to be true.  It was part of what God was always trying to teach her.
"That and being the most beautiful woman I've ever known."
"Even after all these years?"
He kissed her hand.  "Eleven years," he sighed.  "Seems like a long time, but it's just a blip.  We've got our whole lives ahead of us, and ahead of our baby girl.  I'm so happy, Jane."
She kissed his hand now.  "Me too, baby."  She leaned over the table and gave him a delicious kiss – soft, but with the promise of much more.  "You're such an amazing man.  Best husband and father in the world.  You make me feel... cherished."
"You are."
She leaned away from the candles to give him another kiss and the sweetest old memory flashed into her mind.  "Remember the night we went to La Cachette?"
Adam frowned slightly.  They didn't often talk about the night Judith was murdered.
She read his mind.  "It all got lost because of what happened… after.  But that was such a great night, so much fun.  Man, that place was fancy.  I loved it.  Sucks that they went of business in '09."
"Yeah."
"I was so nervous that night.  But you?  Mr. Suave."
"Oh yeah, super suave.  I was Rico Suave," he laughed at his sometimes awkward 17-year-old self.  "Steak... in a pan."
They both chuckled.
"She told me what to do, you know?  Judith," he admitted.  "I was clueless.  She picked out my clothes, told me what flowers to buy, helped me pick out the restaurant."
"Me too.  God she was bossy, wasn't she?" Joan laughed.  "She did my hair and picked out my dress."  It felt good to laugh and remember what fun Judith had been, rather than just remembering how she died.  "We were so cute."
"That's the last thing she said to me as she went out the door," he remembered with a start.  "'You are the shock and awe of cute', that's what she said.  I kind of thought she was making fun of me, but she wasn't. She was talking about both of us."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"So," he asked.  "Does this win for best Valentine's Day ever?"

"I think so, but it's a close one.  Remember three years ago when we rented that cabin on Mercer Creek?"

"Oh, God," he moaned.  "The ice storm."

"Yeah," she smiled.  "Wasn't all bad."

"I was just glad they made us buy the whole cord of firewood.  And that you packed our long johns," he laughed.

"The second night, after we lost power, remember?"

He smiled at her. "Oh yeah, I remember."

"That was the night we made Lizzie."

"How do you know?"

"I... just... know."

He nodded, supposing she was entitled to a few secrets.  "Well then I guess it was a pretty good Valentine's Day, at that."

"It was," she giggled.  "But this?  You really went all out.  You didn't have to, especially since our anniversary is only a couple of months away."

"We'll do something special then, too.  Of course we're still saving the return trip to Cabo for our fifth."

"Remember what we said about that?"

"Yeah, that we'd start our family there."

"Too late for that."

"We could expand it."

"Now there's a good idea," she cooed.

"Are you ready for dessert," he asked her after he'd cleared their dinner dishes.

"Hmmm," she purred.  "How about another dance first, then dessert?"

"I'd like that," he sighed.

Later, after several more dances and a calorie-laden dessert, they snuggled on the couch.

"Thank you so much, baby.  The house, the food, the wine, the music...  You're amazing," she said kissing him.

"I'm an amateur," Adam chucked.  "I've been watching your father.  He cooks these fancy meals a few times a year and takes bows for it.  But your mom cooks every day, without any fanfare.  It's good to be the king."

Joan laughed.  "I still can't believe he took her to Cabo."

"Yeah, I thought your folks hated to go on long trips away."

"Dad does.  He hates leaving work at all.  He's only doing this 'cause he couldn't let all you young Girardi --- or Girardi-adjacent --- men best him in the romance department."

"I guess he is pretty Type A.  But he's a romantic, too."

"That's just The Job.  He thinks something awful will happen if he's not there.  And, you know, it might.  But he's only human.  He can't be there 24/7."

"But I think he'd do anything for your mom."

"Of course he would.  But Kevin says he watched the plane take off just to make sure.  He even lifted Dad's cell phone.  He called Mom and told her while they were still being seated on the plane."

Adam laughed quietly.  "Good for them."

"Yeah, good for them.  I think we've got the better deal right here though."

"You do?"

"Yeah, we get to have our beautiful evening and --- I hope --- a lazy Sunday afternoon, and then we get to have our little girl back in our arms tomorrow night.  How do you beat that?"

"You don't."  He kissed her hair.

She laid her head on his shoulder.  "What a beautiful night."

"It's not over yet, is it?" he whispered in her ear.

"Of course not," she grinned and pulled his face to her for a kiss.  And then another, and another…  Until their desire was almost unstoppable.  They instinctively turned into each other and she began tugging at his clothes, loosening his tie as he placed soft, moist kisses along her shoulder and collar bone.

But as she reached for his belt, just before he'd completely lost himself in her, he pulled back.  "No," he told her breathlessly.

"No?" she asked, puzzled.

"Not yet," he amended.  He quickly rearranged their clothes and pulled them both up off the couch, holding fast to her hand.  "Come with me," he said.

"Anywhere," she sighed.

She watched, rapt, as he closed the kitchen door, indicating the dishes would wait until tomorrow.  She blew out all of the candles on the table and in the living room and followed him to the staircase.

"Can you wait here for just like a minute?" he asked, kissing her fingertips.

"Yeah, sure," she answered, still confused.

She watched him run up the stairs, wondering what he was up to.  When she picked up the slight scent of sulfur, she understood: matches.  He was lighting more candles.  She could barely believe the effort he'd gone through to make this night so special.  It had been so long since they'd had the time to just enjoy being alone together.  Thank God he didn't take me to a fancy restaurant with tons of other people, she thought.

The light in the entry hall twinkled as if to say, You're welcome, Joan.

She snickered just as Adam reappeared at her side.  "What," he asked.

"Nothing," she said quietly, "I'm just… happy."

"Me, too," he said, looking soulfully into her eyes.  Then, taking her hand, he led her up the stairs.

"Do you know that when we were kids, I fantasized about you in a tux?"

"You did?" he asked, his smile reaching his eyes.

"Yep.  With a red tie. I think there might've been a rosebud, too," she murmured as she started to close the door and then realized that there was no need.  They were alone, after all. She turned back to him and slid her hands up over his chest, inside his jacket.

"Was I boyishly handsome?"

"You were beautiful."

"I was?"

"You're far more beautiful now."

He slid his arms up around her back.  "Jane," he whispered.  "Jane, Jane, Jane.  You're just... you're..."

She kissed him.  "Thank you, baby.  I love you too."

He languished in her affection for a moment and then drew away gently, "No, I wanna say this.  You're an amazing woman, Jane.  You're the best mother.  Our daughter adores you.  You do so much, you help so many people.  And you take such good care of me.  You're so smart and kind and beautiful and I cherish every minute I have with you.  You're my everything."

"Always."

"Right now, I just wanna melt with you."

"God, yes."  She kissed him again and his hands went to her face.  He slowed them down to wet juicy butterfly kisses.  She kicked off her shoes and he gasped as he felt her arms slide around his waist and pull him tight to her.  That perfect fit.  His fingers found their way into her hair and he turned her around and moved her toward the bed.

Stopping beside it, she pushed his tuxedo jacket off his shoulders and he threw it over the back of a chair. The tie had to go, so she began removing it as he lifted the spaghetti strap of her sleek dress off her left shoulder and kissed her neck there, with moist parted lips.

"Mmmmmmm," she sighed into him.

Pulling back from her just enough, he kicked off his shoes, pulled his tie off and popped the first button of his shirt, briefly entwining his fingers with hers and drawing her hands to his lips.

"So...?" he intoned, catching and holding her hooded, passion-darkened eyes.  "I got your favorite hazelnut and vanilla bubble bath.  And also some of that Kama Sutra massage oil you like..."

"That's great, baby; I know we'll enjoy that.  But tonight, I just want to make love with you.  We don't need any of that."

He swallowed, "OK."  And he instantly moved into her arms again, never one to argue with her wisdom in that realm.  He was pwned and he knew it, accepted it, relished it.

Hands shaking she finished unbuttoning his shirt. She was so enthralled running her fingers over his chest that she was barely able to let go long enough to allow him to push her dress off of her shoulders and down over her hips. She squeezed his pecs to brace herself as she stepped out of the dress.  His eyes fell immediately to the garters. And he stood speechless as he trailed his adoring glance back up to her tiny panties and her soft satin camisole.  A flush rose to his cheeks as he saw how the fullness of her womanhood spilled over the top of the little garment.

She knew exactly what she was doing to him.  She sat on the bed before him was about to reach out and release him when he knelt before her.

He lifted her leg onto his shoulder and ran his fingers along the outside as he ran his lips and warm breath along inside.  Stopping where the stockings ended and flesh began to look up at her.  Her eyes were closed, her head tilted adorably to one side, lips parted and juicy.  She sighed when he stopped it made him smile. He kissed a warm, wet, gentle line from the edge of her stocking, up her thigh to the edge of her soft, satiny, lacy panties.  He lifted her other leg over his other shoulder, raising it enough to encourage her to lean back further.  He turned to kiss the inside of that thigh as lovingly as he'd kissed the first.

It excited him when he felt her shiver.  So he turned and leaned down to breathe soft hot breaths through the fabric over her curls and then down, down pausing to place and steamy full-lipped kiss on her clit, which was standing at full attention and actually pressing against her panties, dampening them.

"Nnnnhhhhnnnmmmmm, Adam, please."

He rose slowly toward her, until he could capture her lips and show her the flavor of her own desire.  "Please what?" he teased.

"Please..." she sighed into him.  "I need you.  Now."

As he rose into her embrace, she wrapped her legs around him and pulled him onto the bed with her.  But he would not let her rush.

She couldn't figure out how he could stand to still have pants on.  She could feel him and she knew she'd better release him.  He'd removed his belt and unbuttoned the top button, but that's as far as he got before he was distracted by her lingerie.  She wished he could've seen the look on his face.  The thought made her giggle a little.

"What?" he asked.

"Honey, we have to get those pants off of you before you rip them open from the inside."

She reached for the zipper and he laughed too, leaning back so that she could do the honors of freeing Mr. Lovejoy.  He lifted his butt and she made quick work of the trousers and his boxers.

"Your turn," he smiled as he pulled back and began to carefully work her panties down before he realized he'd have to unfasten the garters to get them off her.  He really didn't want her to take the garters off yet.

She read him.  "You can refasten them, sweetie."

He sat up and unhooked the garters, slipped her panties off and fumbled a bit trying to re-hook them with trembling hands.

When she sighed, "Adam, please hurry, baby.  I'm dying here."

He gave up instantly. "Screw it," he said leaving them half fastened, half hanging as he rejoined her on the bed.

She laughed and they fell into heated kisses as he found her soaked and on fire for him.  He felt her hands on his ass as he pushed into her --- slowly but as deeply as he could reach.  "OOOOHHHH," she gasped and her legs encircled him again.

"Oh Jane," he moaned against her ear as he began to move in her.

Magnificent.

Their hearts crashed together.  Little tremors of intense pleasure already threatened to overwhelm them.  At first he tried to slow their movements to make it last just a little longer.  But their excitement wouldn't allow them to maintain that pace for long.  It had been so long since they'd had a leisurely, romantic night alone together that they had been riding on a sea of anticipation all week.  And now, after such a great evening, they were here.  All too soon their desire reached its crescendo and they fell back onto the pillows, breathless and vibrating with pleasure.

"You are amazing," she whispered, when she was finally able to speak.

"I could say the same," he chuckled, catching his breath.  "But I don't want you to get a swelled head."

She giggled and leaned over to kiss him.  "A swelled head, huh?  That doesn't sound so bad…," she responded reaching down to give him a gentle stroke.  She loved the astonished expression on his face, when he began to immediately respond to her touch.

"Oh, honey," he moaned, his eyes fluttering shut.

"Need a minute?" she whispered.

"Maybe two," he said.  But he broke into a grin when he felt her finger tips trailing along the length of him.  "Nope.  One'll do it…"

oh sexy.

Joan - I didn't take back my photos from the yearbook. I got fired. I'm not a photographer or an artist like Iris. I'm not a literary editor or...  A science geek or anything. I'm-- I mean, I tried to be, but I'm not. I'm really just... digging around in the garbage trying to... find something that matters.

Adam - That's what I love about you, Jane.
