Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

There's a pic of the final bag in the Special Projects thread, Chris Birthday Present.  And a reaction from him through his mom...

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

Somebody's been dicking around with Chris's IMDb page again.  Now, at least, there's a pic.  But it's a terrible one.  Man, I wish he'd let us maintain his page.  He said we could, but he has to actually help us set ourselves up with "IMDb Resume" in his name in order to be able to do so.  And I doubt that's ever gonna happen.  Dammit.

You should be the one to run his imdb page, Deb. It might happen one day. I hope it does.

I noticed the picture the other day, and forgot to mention it.  It is quite possibly the worst picture of him I have seen.

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

I cannot for the life of me figure out how the people who agent, manage or market him decide how to do it.  They never sell his best attributes.  Ever.  They seem to have no idea that he's a handsome dude.  That he has an estrogen brigade.  And there are plenty of tiny actresses out there for him to look all tall and strong next to.  What do they need, an anvil?  Who do we drop it on to get the damn point across?

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

PS: I just noticed the same pic is the profile pic on what we assumed was a fan-made Facebook "fan club" type page.  Who's doing this...?

Whoever it is, fifty bucks says it's a dude.

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

It might be a dude, but it doesn't take a chick to know that isn't a good picture of him.  He looks heavy, and it doesn't represent his looks.

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

His hair's way too short as well.  Now, there were some good pics taken of him that night at the Alpha Dog premiere.  That's just not one of them.  It's so frustrating sometimes that no one seems to see him the way we do.

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

Welcome back, Bree! We've missed you!! (And I mean that!) I just ordered a new, awesome laptop online yesterday, but I won't get it for another three or four weeks. As all the Chris names I like are taken, I'm still unsure what to name him. I might just do a "funny" and name him Mac (short for Mackenzie -- which is not Chris-related). Of course it's a Windows machine. tongue

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

Welcome back, Bree. You're back and I have to leave, but hopefully only for a few days ... I'm going home to my apartment tomorrow because - even though there is internet at my parents's place I don't want to hang out at their place all the time. LOL So I'm going to go home for a few days and will hopefully get Cooper back soon. *sigh*

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

Hey Bree.  Great to see you.  I've started my new job and I can't really do much online there because they have Barracuda filters, which sucks copious amounts of ass.  The work is incredibly complicated and so far I can't seem to get it through my boss's head that she actually has to TRAIN me.  I have to get up earlier because it takes longer to get there and back.  I'm pretty much a lump of exhaustion and yet a bundle of nerves right now.

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

I am very very upset but not quite as devastated as I predicted. My baby Jake, well not really baby seeing as though he was at least 14-16 (still arguing over the age), I posted about him earlier and having problems and having to have an operation and we were worried about him. He got through that ok and it was his bowels and they recovered fine. But this past week he wasnt well at all and taking him to the vet we found out that he had almost total kidney failure. He was placed on a drip overnight but it was very bleak. We were told that if he was human he would need to be on dialysis almost daily. But even doing all we could do that he would be nauseated most of the time, even if he took medication to limit that he needed other medications for his heart murmur....the poor boy was just old and suffering. I have never seen him so exhausted like this last month. Even to the last minute you could tell that he wanted to be up and running around. He was brought in to us and his eyes were barely open but he had his ears pricked up and he kept opening his eyes to look at us with him. He went very peacefully but I will miss him terribly. Choosing to have your dog put down no matter how practical and reasonable to be the right choice...it was still so hard to do. I will miss him terribly. He has been apart of my family since I was 7. I know he was old and I know he lived a good life and I know he was unwell but I still want to be selfish and have him back the way he was.... R.I.P Jake. Love you boy....

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

Kate, I am SO sorry to hear that! You know, back in February I've been there myself when I had to put down my cat who also has been a part of our family since I was seven years old. Well, she stayed with our old neighbors for the last years, but she was still my cat and I still miss her terribly. My thoughts are with you today.

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

Sounds very similar to the situation with my Lacey.  I don't use the term "put down".  It sounds so cold.  And language has power.  I prefer to think of it this way --- I had to "let my beloved dog go" because she was suffering and there was no hope that she would get better.  And even though I know intellectually that it was the right thing to do, I still feel pangs of guilt and I still cry because I miss her so much.  She was my heart for 16 of her 17 years on this planet, from the moment I met her.  When I hate myself for letting her go, I have to remind myself that she was in pain and prolonging her life at that point was for me, not her.
