Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

Shocking, I know.  But yeah, that's the year HBO exploded into American living rooms.  It was so new and special that I would go through the monthly guide from cover to cover and mark what I wanted to watch.  And I'd often stay up all night watching movies.  Sometimes even set my alarm to wake up in the middle of the night to watch really important stuff.  We didn't have VCRs yet.  I got my first one of those in 1983.  And one of my very first rentals was Time After Time.  smile

Well, look at that. We're certainly seeing a lot of her. This is from Sunday's Cold Case episode (episode 7x03).

She had two scenes, she played a lawyer. Very different role for her to be all smartly dressed and serious.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

I started watching One tree hill last week. Now I'm at episode 2x18, and there's Judith! big_smile I mean Sprague Grayden. She did that at the same time as JOA. She's so different! First time I saw her in another role. She must be good at her job. smile Like a different person.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

I've seen her in a ton of stuff.  She's fantastic.  She played the President's daughter in the most recent season of 24, and she kicked ass!  She was also a regular on Jericho and in the first season of Sons Of Anarchy.  Love her!

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

Oh, damned. I never got into 24 and stopped watching Jericho after a few eps. There was some confusion with the stupid Finnish air dates... Maybe I'll check them again after I've cleared a few series from my list. lol Yes, I keep a list of series I follow and the episodes I've last seen, or I'd forget where I was going. There's 20 series in  that list, in different colors. light grey are series that I want to watch some time in the future, dark greys are on hiatus, red ones I'm following right now and purple ones when I've  got extra time. Call me crazy!

There's a movie on Hallmark tonight with Brooke Nevin and Roma Downey in it...

DETAILS: November 10th 9:00 PM  (120Mins.)

STARRING    John Schneider, Roma Downey, Brooke Nevin, Christopher Jacot

Nothing else on.  Think I'll check it out.  Brooke is pretty damn awesome.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

Yeah, I'll watch V.  The movie's on after V.  And there's no ep of The Forgotten tonight.

Acorn is not a TV station.  Are you referring to me saying maybe Acorn would pick up the Jimmy Nail stuff?  Acorn media sells tons of British TV shows and some hard to find American titles as well.  You can check them out at http://acornonline.com/videos/c/295/.  I got No Honestly, Wodehouse Playhouse and Thomas & Sarah from them.  Now, I'm waiting very impatiently for them to pick up Forever Green and lower the price of The Ambassador.

Yeah, I actually was thinking that Acorn was a channel that showed oddball stuff, like they used to do on TRIO a few years ago.

Apparently, both Spender & Crocodile Shoes (series 1 & 2) are available in the UK, legally, and you can get bootlegged copies from a chap that posts on the Jimmy Nail boards at www.imdb.com.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

It just hit me, finally.  Probably because she's smiling a lot in this movie.  The thing about Brooke and why I find myself falling for her is that she reminds me of someone.  Someone I love.  Megan Follows.  It's not that she looks like her, but she eerily evokes her, most especially when she talks and smiles.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

Crap!  They ruined an otherwise fine little movie with a stupid pratfall!  I'd be crying right now if they hadn't taken me out of the story with that.  Dammit.

I like Megan Follows, too. Sarah Polley also reminds me of her.

As I said before, I went to see Love happens tonight (or yesterday since it's alredy past midnight here) and I absolutely loved Dan Fogler's performance. It was nice to see him in something else than Fanboys. Maybe not as funny, but still highlarious. LOL

Inadvertent Ritterfest today.  Saw most of Good Dick and the last 45 minutes of Charlie Banks on cable.  Somehow feels incomplete.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

Just saw a sweet little trailer for a movie called When In Rome that stars Kristen Bell, Alexis Dziena and Don Johnson.  And another one for a movie called She's Out Of My League that stars Jay Baruchel.

Where?  Is?  Chris???
