Re: Randomness

The internet is behaving utterly strange here right now. I can reach this board and our website, but I can not reach Google, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace ... any other sites. Is this some kind of sick Christmas joke or what?

Weird.  You'd think traffic would be low online on a holiday too.  Hmmm.

We got him back inside.  He's fine now.  Sacked out under my chair.  I'm sure he's exhausted.

Re: Randomness

LOL That's one crazy dog you've got there. big_smile

My sisters were here last night and one of them had three kids and a big puppy with her.  Very lively puppy. And Kas is scared of dogs, especially that big ones. He kept running away from her and of course the she chased him then, thinking he was playing. This morning they left North, and they took my little girl with them again. I'm so heart broken. sad I always miss her greatly. I guess it's because we made a special bond in her first two years when I was being a single mama... I hope they have a safe trip and I get her back home soon. Tonight at 6.25 my niece and her friend are coming by train. Am I crazy to have two 14 year olds in the house over new years? Especially since in the NY eve we are always at J's mom's house and the girls are gonna be at home alone. I've promissed they can drink a little as long as they do it in our home. They've been telling all over the interwebs "this new Year's Eve is going to be the best!" God only knows what will be waiting for me when I get home with the kids soon after midnight. Of course we'll have to hang out in J's mom's place until the final hour again so we'll see all the best rockets. I secretly wish that me and the kids can go home sooner because I hate watching people drink in house parties... and I seriously hate having my kids seeing people drinking. Even if J's family does it pretty classy... Ok, ramble over.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! We had a nice family style Christmas eve, again at J's mom's place with her and J's brothers. There was santa giving presents and yummy food and good company. big_smile

Re: Randomness

Congrats! Hope he runs smoothly now. Btw, I've decided to call my new laptop Mackenzie (Mac) Calhoun after a character from Star Trek: New Fronier. I also recently saw an Australian movie I liked a lot where the main character was called Mackenzie. I also like the fact that I'm calling a Windows computer "Mac". tongue

Re: Randomness

Yeah, I hope that too. The good thing is, it looks like I don't have to pay for anything and they even replaced some keys that didn't show the letters anymore (you know, like the N key, did I show you that when we were in LA?). That's so great, I didn't expect them to do it.

Re: Randomness

You know what the good thing about the complete reinstallation of Cooper is? I was finally able to get the new Thunderbird. On the old computer the updates always failed because of something. Now I have a complete new Thunderbird and I even managed to include my old profile in it. That's so great! I didn't lose any emails. Yay!!! :dancing:

Re: Randomness

Hey everyone. How are we all doing.

I'm feeling pretty terrible at the moment. Had a terrible cold last week and now i'm going through some weird mind trick. I'm one of those people that if something happens, can never get it out their mind. Every evening, when i end up with nothing to do, my mind begins to wander and i start to feel funny and start thinking there is something wrong with me. If I'm busy, and my mind is concentrating on something then i'm perfectly fine, but for example, every time i have my dinner or lunch, before i start eating it, i have already begun to think that i'm gonna feel funny after eating it. So, the whole time i'm eating my food, i have in my mind that i'm gonna feel funny, and then what happens when im finished? I begin to feel funny and am really thinking about it. The worst is watching tv. I suppose cause i'm not concentrating on anything. I have to read the paper or go on the laptop at the same time, just to stop feeling silly. It's really annoying me.

Anyway enough about me, how is everyone?

Re: Randomness

Not sure about your mind trick there, Simon, but it sounds similar to this sinking feeling I often get.  Like something terrible is just around the corner and it's really gonna mess me up.  I've been getting it again a lot lately.  But it's probably because of being in a new job that I still feel a bit shaky about.  Hope you feel better very, very soon.  I've noticed your absence and wondered what you were up to.  Maybe we all just need a brand new fresh year with no mistakes in it...

Re: Randomness

Just been so busy, but I am planning to give myself a good 2010. It's not really a sinking feeling i get, it's more like theres something missing. i feel like theres something wrong with my body, but i wouldn't know how to describe it. its just slightly uncomfortable. you know when you think of a pain, you can sometime make you body react as if its happening to you. that is what is like.

Re: Randomness

Well, if you can make yourself feel crappy by worrying about it, maybe you can make yourself feel better by working on that.  Mind over matter is real.

This is cool.  I want one, beach cruiser-style but with long, climbing cranks. It's hilly around here.

I agree with a lot of what you said, Deb. I think everyone feels at least sometimes that something will go wrong and mess them up. A new year will hopefully bring a lot of great things to everyone and a new start.
