Sorry to hear that, Mel.
Life can be so cruel.
My mom's friend lost her son a few weeks ago. He went hiking with a friend and they got lost and probably froze to death. I think they haven't even found the bodies yet. When my mom told me about that I was so shocked. I mean, I wasn't exactly close to him, but I did still know him and I know his mom pretty well.

Thanks everyone.
Today my best friend Lysa found out that she's having a baby girl. She's going to name her Winter Rose and she's due on August 6th.

Witner Rose is gorgeous! Congratulations!
I'm so glad I did nothing for spring break. On the whim I decided to go see "RAIN - a tribute to the Beatles" at our music hall and it was so much fun that it made up for me doing nothing all break. Its incredibly good and fun. If it comes to your area I'd highly recommend it. I'm still singing beatles songs today It feels like going to a live Beatles concert & the actors are amazing, sound exactly like them, play like them and have their same performance quirks.

Cool! On a much smaller scale, I saw a very talented, energetic, fun Journey tribute band last night called, Departure. It was awesome. I went with an old friend I used to work with, who I hadn't seen in about 6-7 years.

In case you wondered why I haven't been here that much lately, I was doing a cinema marathon this week, or rather a "March Movie Madness", as I like to call it. LOL
Five movies in four days:
Tuesday: Alice In Wonderland
Wednesday: Shutter Island
Thursday: A Serious Man (Planned to see Up In The Air, but they got the wrong version, so they gave me a voucher and gave me this movie for free)
Friday: The Yellow Handkerchief and Up In The Air

Deb: I love Journey! I bet that was a blast.
Samsy: sounds intense! Love it though. How was Alice in Wonderland?

It really was fun. These guys LOVE Journey and they put on a helluva show. They play this bar once a month and my friend and her hubby always go. The wildest thing was that some more of their friends showed up and there was a guy I knew with them, Jack. He used to be my FedEx guy at my old job. We were very surprised that we have mutual friends. He's waaaaay younger than me.

It was intense! LOL But it was great. I always wanted to do that and there are so many so great movies coming out in 2010 and I want to see them aaaaall on big screen! LOL
Alice was great. I mean, I couldn't see it in 3D of course, but it was still great. I heard some people said it looked like a children's movie, but I never had that feeling. It's a great fantasy adventure, no matter what age you are. I was so happy to be able to watch it in English because the movie also features great voices of actors I really like (Michael Sheen, Alan Rickman and Stephen Fry).

Good to hear about Alice, Tim Burton can be hit or miss for me these days. I'm kind of over the burton/Depp duo. The previews look interesting though. IT was always one of my favorite disneys.
First day back from break = a long day. A good one, just long.

You saw alot of movies, Anne. I want to see Alice, Shutter Island, and Up In The Air. Which movie did you like most out of those three?

How do you afford seeing so many films in one week. It's quite expensive in the UK to see that many films in a week. It's approaching the Easter week and I only have 2 films I'm going to watch on the cinema; Alice in Wonderland and Kick-Ass.

Which one do I like the most? That's quite a difficult question. I do like each one of them for several reasons, but if I had to choose one ... I'd probably say Up In The Air, closely followed by The Yellow Handkerchief. I just love indies like that and I was sooo happy to finally be able to see it.
And Up In The Air ... it's sooo much better than the book and, as I said in the movie thread, it totally came up to my expectations. I finished the book by now and ... I actually regret that I read it. It's sooo different from the book. While reading it I kept questioning myself what I was reading ... I mean, Anna Kendrick's character didn't even show up in the book!
Alice is, of course a great fantasy adventure. And Johnny Depp, well, he just never fails to surprise me. That guy is the most incredible actor I've ever seen, really. Plus, Alice features many voices of actors I really like, such as Michael Sheen, Alan Rickman and Stephen Fry.
Shutter Island is a great thriller. DiCaprio even speaks a little German in it and I loved it. LOL And I was actually surprised how good I could follow the plot. I would have expected some problems, but it went nicely.
Last but not least, A Serious Man. I have to say, I really liked the movie. It's such a "lovely ironic" little film and I'm glad I got to see it. Oh, and it even has one of Chris's co-stars - it features Adam Arkin, who played Shannon Lucio's dad in Graduation. It was quite a surprise to see him there. LOL
