Re: Misc Stuff

Yesterday was awesome! I went to see a former colleague (now friend) and his wife at their home yesterday. They bought a house last year and Detlev has now set up a home theater in his basement. And I mean home THEATER! He has some serious shit down there. A 16:9 real theater screen (maybe 9 x 5 feet), a good quality beamer, a Dolby 7.2 sound system and an HD and a Blu-ray player. He also has 6 leather desk chairs set up in two rows, where the last row is elevated so everyone can see. The walls and the floor were all black so that you could make the room completely dark. It was AWESOME! I drooled all way through the movie, and it wasn't because of Hugh Jackman. lol

I want!!! I think I need to buy a house....... wink

X-Men Wolverine. Which I had already seen in the theater, but Anja wanted to see it because she hadn't. I quite liked it back then, so I didn't mind seeing it again.

Just went to see Kick-Ass with my brother. We were the only 2 watching the film, it was so strange sitting on your own. The filmed kicked-ass though.

Re: Misc Stuff

I went to see The Yellow Handkerchief last month and I was the only person to watch it. But I didn't really care, I just wanted to see the movie. But it can be weird to be the only person in a room, especially if you expericenced it already full with more than 100 people before.

Re: Misc Stuff

I like being in movies alone or with just the people I see the movie with. I saw Shutter with my mom and The Covenant with no one else in the theater. I saw The Informers alone in theaters. Its nice because you aren't annoyed with people and their disturbances.

Re: Misc Stuff

I agree that it can be nice like that.  And people have ruined my experience before.  But sometimes, I want an audience.  For one thing, comedies are more fun.  I really wish there had been a big one for The Runaways.

Re: Misc Stuff

Yeah, when I saw Shutter Island there were only five other people in the room, that was kinda good because that way I had nearly no problems to understand the movie.
And two weeks ago when I went to Frankfurt for Remember Me, there were only two other people in the room with my friend and me. That was good, too. BUT the bad thing was that one of the employees of the theatre kept walking trough the room while making all kinds of annoying noices ... that sucked. I really hope the movie's gonna come to my local OV theatre soon because I need to see it again and I can hardly wait anymore ... roll

I saw Cop Out today at my local $2 theater. Such a funny movie and Kevin Smith is a great director! My favorite part was the scene with Susie Essman.

Very intersting article Deb, and its true. You cant just choose to ignore what your customer wants. That just ends with the customer going elsewhere...

Re: Misc Stuff

Sounsd great! Can you play UK DVDs/Blu-Rays, though? They have a different region code and your player will most probably not play them, unless you've made it codefree.

Re: Misc Stuff

Oh yeah, I meant to buy Mandy Lane long ago. Not the Blu-Ray of course, but the DVD. But I'm having some issues with CD-WOW at the moment, so this has to wait. And I think the next thing I'll order from there will be the Remember Me DVD anyway! LOL

Re: Misc Stuff

I received the BLURAY today in the mail. It works except the extras won't. I'm not too disappointed about it though because the only extras are the theatrical trailer and an interview with Amber Heard. Both are on youtube to watch. So I'm happy. I love the movie and it plays perfectly!
