The Double

Yet another new project for Chris!  He starts shooting next week.  He sent us a brief email today.  We'll hopefully get more details soon.

Here's the listing...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1646980/

Story kicks off with the mysterious murder of a senator bearing the marks of a Soviet assassin, who was long thought to be dead. To hunt down the killer, a retired CIA operative, who spent his career going toe-to-toe with his Soviet nemesis, is teamed with a young FBI agent.

I have a feeling the young FBI agent is Topher Grace, not our guy. But maybe they'll give him something to chew on.  He's excited about it.

Re: The Double

This is awesome news for Chris. Now lets all hope that this project doesn't get cancelled on him.

Does anyone else not like Topher Grace? I think he is really wooden and not that great of an actor. If you ask me, they'd be better off putting Chris in the role of the young FBI agent but then again, I am kind of biased. big_smile

Re: The Double

I like Topher.  He does always seem to play the nervous guy type character though.  I haven't seen a ton of range out of him yet.  His most impressive work so far was in Traffic if you ask me.  And just think, between Chris and Topher, they make up one whole Christopher.  wink

Of course I'd always much rather our guy be THE guy.  But I'm just happy to see him flush with work again.  Baby steps.

Agree Deb, think we have a lot more to see from Topher and that he and Chris will have great chemistry.  I also really like Stana Katic, it will be interesting to see how she translates on the big screen.  Love her on Castle.

I have a soft spot for Topher Grace so should definitely enjoy this movie for the actors if nothing else. Hopefully we find out more about his role soon.

Re: The Double

Topher Grace made a reference to this movie on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.   He didn't mention Chris, but it was exciting to hear him talking about it!

This movie will hopefully gain Chris more recognition.
I wish he would be in a movie with Amber Tamblyn and Jared Leto.

Re: The Double

I found out Stephen Moyer is in this movie, too. And THANK GOD he is (hopefully) not going to use his vampire voice. Otherwise. I am. Going. To die.
I should shut up now. LOL

Re: The Double

It's not big news but I just watched a video of Stephen Moyer being interviewed about what people can expect from him this year and he briefly mentioned The Double. As far as I understood (there was a lot of noise in the video and my TV was running, too) the movie will come out "later this year". Just thought I'd mention it here. I just don't want to flood the board with my newly-discovered affection for Stephen Moyer. LOL

Re: The Double

It's not news or anything, but the girls who host the Stephen Moyer Fansite I joined a few weeks ago posted some production pictures from the movie, I thought they are work linking here.

I snagged this from Anne's FB wall.  It doesn't mention Chris, but the important thing is we now have a release date for The Double!  9/23/11!

Re: The Double

Yeah, I thought about posting it here, but then again, it didn't mention Chris and I thought you were getting tired of my Stephen Moyer appreciation. LOL

I like him too so no, not sick of it.  And it's got a release date in it so I thought it was important.

Re: The Double

For the moment I doubt it, but I hope for at least one more or less great scene with Stephen Moyer. My two most favorite actors in a movie together - they HAVE to have scenes together!!! They have to!!! I hope the movie will make it to my OV theatre.

Re: The Double

A more detailed storyline has been released...

In THE DOUBLE, the mysterious murder of a US senator bearing the distinctive trademark of the legendary Soviet assassin “Cassius,” forces Paul Shepherdson (Richard Gere), a retired CIA operative, to team with rookie FBI agent, Ben Geary (Topher Grace), to solve the crime.

Having spent his career chasing Cassius, Shepherdson is convinced his nemesis is long dead, but is pushed to take on the case by his former supervisor, Tom Highland (Martin Sheen). Meanwhile, Agent Geary, who wrote his Master’s thesis on Shepherdson’s pursuit of the Soviet killer, is certain that Cassius has resurfaced. As Shepherdson and Geary work their way through crimes both past and present, they discover that Cassius may not be the person they always thought him to be, forcing both to re-examine everything and everyone around them.

Re: The Double

Sounds like something I'd be interested in.  Maybe Chris is an agent like he was in ETWM.  I'm not expecting him to have a huge role but I sure hope he has more than just a couple of minutes of screen time.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that he has at least one scene with Stephen Moyer and I'd sure like to see him get a little romance in there, too!

Re: The Double

And I wanna know his character's name!  I can't stand not knowing the name. It's a glitch in my system.

Oh yeah, that's the other thing that's bothering me! I want to know his name too, and how much screentime he has. And by the dangers of repeating myself, I NEED to know if he has at least one little scene together with Steve.

Re: The Double

I don't get it. The movie is coming out in, like, four weeks, it features Richard Gere and Stephen Moyer and there is, like, NO promotion AT ALL! No trailer, no posters, NOTHING!!! What's wrong here? :clueless:
