Anne just learned through Joe Mantegna's Twitter page that both Chris and Mike Welch will be guest-starring on his show, Criminal Minds this season --- in the same episode! How freakin' cool is that? Woohoo!

No, he didn't. He just tweeted the picture with Mike and then did that little guessing game about Chris. I could ask him, though. I WAS thinking about it but I guess he's back to work now since the last time he tweeted was 2 hours ago. Well, maybe tomorrow.

I know, I'm so happy for him. I guess it's safe to say Mr. Mantegna may have had a hand in this.

I missed Wartime when I was at Toronto last year. I don't get IFC On Demand but I'm heading up to NY this weekend anyway so I might be able to catch it there. Of course I'd rather see it in a theater.

That's wonderful news! I was actually going to post the LDW details on the front page today, but I can post the Criminal Minds blurb tomorrow.

I wish you could write Joe a message via Twitter, but it looks like he's not allowing that. If the @-tweeting doesn't work, we can always try to contact him via his official website. There's an e-mail field there, but it sounds like it's going to the webmaster first.

Wait, people who are following Joe can't reply to his tweets? I'm not really sure how it all works since I don't follow anyone. I was going to ask him to friend me on FB last night, but the option to send a personal message was not showing up. I don't know if it was a glitch or if he somehow disabled that function. He doesn't have many friends on there, so it might be that he doesn't friend fans. Still, I figured, based on our mutuals and explaining about this site, he might accept me. But since I couldn't explain anything, I let it go.

I don't know exactly how it works either, but I think the only thing you can do is post an @ tweet, which means you're basically referring to the person in your own tweet (and I think it shows up on the person's profile somewhere when you do it) or you retweet, which is taking someone's tweet and putting it on your own profile. I don't think it's a glitch, he probably disabled it on purpose since it didn't work for me either (but with other people it did). He disabled the option to send him a message through Facebook as well. Looks like he just doesn't want to get contacted directly by fans. There's an e-mail option on his official site, which probably goes through the webmaster first.

Yes, he's disabled the messaging option on Facebook.

Skip this if you know this -- if not, this may be useful. As far as Twitter goes, you can only send someone a DM if THEY are following YOU. Otherwise it won't go through. As you said, you can @ him in a message and he will see it. He does reply to @ tweets which means he is definitely seeing them. So that's as good as a DM as you can get at the moment.

What you can do (and I don't know if he will do it, but it's worth a try) is to send him an @ tweet asking him to add you, then you can DM him. I've done that (and had it done to me) many times. But that requires him to add you, of course, and I don't know where his head is on that.

What do you mean, @-tweeting doesn't work? It works fine for me. I guess you mean direct messages from Twitter. They only work if he's following you, too.
