I'll be very interested in what you have to say whenever you do get around to it.

Re: Misc Stuff

I don't recall any issues with the audio when I watched it. But I thought overall the dialogue was difficult to understand sometimes. Not so much acoustically but more logically.

On a different note, I watched this little indie with Jason Behr and Dominic Monaghan on DVD tonight, called Shooting Livien. Really interesting one, but it was also one of those indies that tried very hard to be different. Sometimes I believe independent movies could be a lot better if they didn't have to make so darn sure they have this artsy indie vibe about them.

Re: Misc Stuff

It might've been my theater.  We'll see once Rick weighs in.

I know what you mean!  Not about that specific movie, but there was this indie thing that I tried to watch a year or so ago because Ellen Page was in it that I just couldn't stand because it was trying way too freakin' hard to be arty.  I can't remember the name of it, lemme see if I can find it...

The Tracey Fragments, that's it:  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0801526/

I had to give it up after about half an hour.  It was just terrible.  Anybody else ever tried to watch that thing?

How did you like Shooting Livien? That movie has been on my To-See-for years ...

Re: Misc Stuff

Yeah, I've had my eye on that movie for years too. I finally remembered it the other week and bought the DVD. I liked it, but it really tried to be artsy too much for its own good. It was also really hard to undertstand, acoustic-wise. I was tempted to switch on the subtitles at some point. Jason Behr did a fantastic job, and if you could see past the stringy, unkempt hair, it had major Rrrrrrr potential. LOL

Well, if the job thing works out I might be able to get the DVD finally. I'll put in on my To-Buy-List.

Re: Misc Stuff

I recall you saying before that the movie Tracey Fragments is confusing, Deb. I want to see it because of Ellen Page but if you say its not a good movie then I don't think I'm going to see it.

You'll need a ton of patience to tackle that one.  Patience is not my strong suit.

Saw the Expendables today and it did what it simply said on the tin. You don't go to watch films like this for the script or the storytelling, you just go for the guns, explosions and action stars kicking a$$. Plus, it was nice to see Dolph Lundgren on the big screen.

Re: Misc Stuff

If you ever wanna watch an unbelieveably stupid, yet somehow funny and awesome movie, check out Big Stan. Its about a whimpy guy that gets sentenced to prison for fraud. He's so afraid of rape, he trains to become an ass kicker (think 'The new guy'-movie starring Eliza Dushku). He ends up turning the prison full of thugs into mariachi dancing softies. Doesn't that sound stupid? Yet all the acting doesn't suck and lots of funny scenes follow. I was literally about to fall off my chair laughing on how these manly men were acting.  Oh, and if any of you are into Jackson Rathbone, he's in it too. Making pretty great faces and smiles; and he had a cool scene in the end. And House MD's Jennifer is kicking ass while being dolled up cute. I didn't know weather to puke or drool when she was on. lol

Yesterday I watched the movie The back up plan, starring J-lo and Alex O'Loughlin. Alex was great in it. And shirtless. wink
Miss Lopez wasn't totally awful either. There were a few of my favorites in the supporting roles, like Mrs. Ackles aka Danneel Harris and EC Olsen. There's a few labors as in birth-scenes in this movie. The americans tend to make labor-scenes totally unrealistic and freaky (or maybe that's just how you yankee pussies do it), but the first labor scene here absolutely took the cake: absolute circus act of freaky stupidness. Why do they always picture home-birth like that? some ridiculous hippie stuff. There are many ways of giving birth, yet its always that stuff they put on movies and TV (like L-word). Goddamn yankees! Other than that, it was a pretty good movie. Reminded me of a TV series I saw years ago called Oh baby! ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0166453/ ) but maybe it was different enough not to be a total rip off. nice entertainment when you want something you don't need to be thinking a lot to stay on track.

I also watched Stick it (2006) yesterday morning. I like Missy Peregrym and Kellan Lutz was in it too. This movie was about sticking up to the man and doing what you want for yourself. Ex-gymnastic gets senteced to a gymnastic school intead of juvi after she's done illegal stuff. Kinda predictable stuff happens, but a lot of cool stuff too. I like sports movies sometimes and this was definately one of the good ones. if you don't mind watching small-chested, fit girls do awesome tricks. I'd watch it again.

TV series I've added to my list: Being Human, Covert Affairs, The Event (Jason Ritter!), Haven, Hawaii five-O, Hung, Nikita, No ordinary family, Past life, Raising hope, Running Wilde, Under covers and White Collar. Most of them new ones that aren't even on yet, but look interesting and I want to check out. I'm absolutley loving Covert affairs! ♥ Chris Gorham and Piper Perabo and that indian guy from Heroes whose name I never remember. I also can't wait to get back to Supernatural, Vampire diaries, SG Universe and Smallville. So much good TV starting now in September. big_smile Now that the month has changed, maybe I can change my cell's ringtone from "wake me up when september comes" to something else. wink

Re: Misc Stuff

I just sent the birthday email to Chris and I told him Dorquettes the world over are marathoning his stuff this weekend.  I watched Black Hole earlier and really enjoyed it now that I understand the story.  I really wish the movie would've been made.  Tomorrow, I'm planning to chill with some JoA.  And I'm about to watch Criminal Minds again right now.  I've already been ChrisFesting for over two weeks.  LOL!
