Re: Randomness

Went to get contact lenses today and have now decided to forget it. The opticians put them in for you the first time, and after she did, I lost my hearing and felt like I was going to faint. At least I tried.

I've worn contact lenses for over 10 years, and I've never had any such problems. But I know that some people can't tolerate them. Too bad you can't wear them, Simon.

Re: Randomness

The optician said that a lot of people do faint because of contacts, but she had never had someone's hearing go. I must be special. It's a shame, because I was looking foward to wearing them.

Re: Randomness

Wow, I've never heard of anything like that.  I'm having trouble wearing contacts again the last few months just because they fell like paper, all dry and scratchy.  So right now I'm giving my eyes a nice long break.  Will try again soon.

Sorry that happened to you, Simon.

Re: Randomness

It's ok. I always said I would never wear contacts because people know me by the glasses, I just thought as I was approaching my 21st, that I should try it. I was hoping having contacts would give my confidence and self esteem a boost.

Re: Randomness

Nice car, Deb! It looks alot like a Scion. My bestfriend Lysa has a Scion and the inside she made all hot pink lol.
And September 1st was Lysas 21st birthday! big_smile
I made her this video:
http://www.metacafe.com/fplayer/5140280 … iend_d.swf
The first half is a video of Lysa and her friends being silly and the second half is a slideshow with pictures of her and the song Lisa Marie by Li'l Wayne.

Re: Randomness

It's not as boxy as a Scion.  It's actually quite sleek in person.  Pictures do not do it justice.  LOL!

Re: Randomness

You know what I noticed recently? Toy shops don't sell stuffed animals looking like REAL elephants. They sell all kinds of animals looking like their real relatives, but not with elephants. Elephants always look like giant mouses with loooong noses. The only real-looking stuffed elephant I found was at our IKEA store.

lol Never thought about it but its true. I teach kindergarten and all the elephants for letter activities do kind of look like mice or anteaters with big ears!

Re: Randomness

I'm glad its Labor Day weekend. I get a 4 day weekend. I don't have classes this semester in college on Tuesdays or Thursdays. What is everyone doing for the holiday weekend?

I've been good Deb.  We started school July 12th and its just been crazy since so I took a break for a while.  Things have finally started to "slow" down a bit.  Glad to "see" everyone again and to talk Chris!  I will re-read the Chris b-day project and consider participating.

No plans this weekend for labor day.  Your schedule fall sounds nice this semester!  Lucky duck.  Take advantage of the four day weekend!

Aw, sorry to hear that, Simon!
Well, my 21 birthday wasn't that good either. I remember my friend wanted to go out with me, but then cancelled very last minute. That sucked pretty much. And I just realized that was six years ago! I'm OLD!!! LOL

Re: Randomness

I'm going out for a meal for mine, it's just the fact I'm gonna be a year older. I never lived life and had fun during my teenage years, still don't now and just know it will continue like this. The annoying thing is, I work in a school for years 11 to 18, and whilst I absoulately love working there, it really puts me down and make  me want to be their age again. Oh well, it's life.

Well, as you know: same here. And since I am closing in on 30, I think I'm getting used to it. Although there is still a small part of me who wants to "just leave and do something completely different" but there is still the money issue, so I don't think I'll be able to do that anytime soon.

So - I win because I also wasted my twenties. LOL wink

Re: Randomness

I have no problem with money, i've got thousands in the bank. It's just i've never had the confidence to go out and have fun. I work at the school I was a student at, and still do the same thing now than I did back then; I wake up, go to school, work, come home, stay inside the remainder of the day. Weekends I just stay in from start to finish.

Thats unfortunate, Simon.
My bestfriend just turned 21 this past Wednesday. She didn't get to celebrate though until this weekend because she works full time and goes to college full time.
