OK, I had to start this thread because I found it. The thing that pushed me over into fandom, all the way back in 1986, the second time I saw Scott. It was on a Bob Hope special and he sang the Whitney Houston hit The Greatest Love Of All. He was 14ish, pushing 15. I'd never heard a voice like that from a boy his age. Here is a great quality clip from the same year of the same song.

The first thing I saw him in was an ep of one of the incarnations of The Twilight Zone. This one for CBS in the '85-86 season. His ep was called Little Boy Lost. At minute 4:22 the scene that just got me by the gut begins. This being TZ, Season Hubley's character is learning that this boy is a choice...

Just the way he delivered that one line, the punchline sold me on this dude. Forever.
This is cute. It's Band From TV, featuring TeeJay's old fave Jamie Denton and that guy from Heroes. Scott sings lead on this one, after lots of mostly Jamie-focused talking. LOL!

Is this a real band they've formed? Because I see some vids with the same title "Band from TV", that have some House MD cast, too.
(EDIT)oh. never mind... http://www.bandfromtv.org/

I think Band From TV has kind of a revolving line-up. They just need to get that clod from The Bachelor off the stage. He suuuuuuucks!

No, I totally missed the junket. I didn't even know my boy was in the movie till literally TWO DAYS before it opened. But I loved it. There's lots of cool extras with the merry men on the DVD. I'm gonna buy it as soon as I can afford to.
Look at this other cool Critters 2 pic someone tagged Scotty in on Facebook yesterday...
My fave of his recent music is Hollywood Sign. That song is amazing.

I only like 1 & 2. Scotty's not in 3 & 4. Even though I love Don Opper, I just couldn't sit through those two.

I'm starting a project to scan some of my HUGE collection of Scotty G stuff from when he was a kid/teen star for the purpose of posting it on his FB wall for other fans to see. I got his approval last night to do this. Here's the first thing I scanned, from when he shot his very first music video at the ripe old age of 17...
More to come. I scanned a bunch of teen mag pin-ups just now, but converting from PDF to JPG is so much of a pain in the ass, I'll wait to do it later tonight.

Awww. I posted this one on Scott's FB wall and his dad, Rick requested permission to tag it for his mom, Pam to make sure she'd see it. That's so sweet.

Well, he was never a big musical sensation. Basically, he started on Broadway in Nine (yes, the play they just made into a movie), just as one of the kids. No solos. But somehow, Bob Hope heard about him and he did a couple of those annual Bob Hope specials. The second time I ever laid eyes on him, was on one of those specials, singing The Greatest Love Of All. The first time I saw him was an ep of the 80's reboot of The Twilight Zone. Based on those two things combined, I was knocked out by how talented this kid was. He was about 14 at the time. From there, he did a couple of Christmas TV movies, the first two Critters movies, a TV series, and a bunch of guest roles in stuff like Who's The Boss and 21 Jump Street.
So in the mid-to-late 80's he was known as an actor, but he was trying to break into music too. Richard Carpenter (yes of the Carpenters) found him and let him sing a song on his first solo album, years after Karen's death. That lead to A&M Records giving him a five year deal. But it took him two years to record his first album. Richard Carpenter produced it and he's a crazy perfectionist, so... Anyway, boy bands were big at the time and his album didn't get noticed at all. It was pretty good. I have it, of course, and I've worn it out. It was released in 1989, when he was 18. He recorded it when he was 16-17.
After that, he kinda faded away for a while, then came back as Bailey's best friend, Will on Party of Five. And he hasn't stopped working since. But he didn't release another album till 2005. It's really great. I adore it. All these years though, he's been honing his guitar and piano skills and writing songs with David Harris. He plays live a lot and now, of course, he tours with Band From TV. He finally released his 3rd album this year.
He's a journeyman, a blue collar guy. He just works hard at what he loves, whatever becomes of it, he's cool. I've always been proud of him for that. He's just another regular dude.

Wow that's a great summary I didn't know he had done so much. The few things I've seen him in, I came to conclusion that he's one of them talented guys that don't get properly acknowledged. Seems like a nice guy too. the kind i would be friends with.
Offline
Yeah, if producers would recognize him for all he can do, he'd be much busier. Everyone who works with him loves him. For instance, he has had an 11-year-long friendship with Russell Crowe (from Mystery, Alaska), who says of him, "Scott has a voice from God." Heh, actually everyone says that. Linda Cardellini once busted that out in an interview. Elliott Gould adores him. And on and on...
Kinda like Chris.

heh. I think we have a type. I can't help it. I just love these guys that you can see with plain eyes that they're good through and through, and talented too. I'm gonna be really mad if the nasty saying "nice guys finish last" is actually true for everyone.
I'm actually getting a bit sick of the actors that fit the Hollywood norm. long, dark and handsome + face of a waxdoll. They don't really have all that much personality, maybe just a gimmick or two that make them stick out the rest, but nothing really interesting. it's like they're coached to look and act and talk the same. f'ing ken-dolls. Not even their jawlines save them in my jawloving-eyes. Most of them don't even have half the talent than some of my favorites that go unappreciated. Makes me sad and angry.
oops. ranting.. sorry.. :embarrassed:

He was supposed to be a bad guy, yes. But he didn't get much of a chance to be bad onscreen. His partner in crime, played by Jonny Lee Miller set him up for a fall.
