How Mark Zuckerberg Indirectly Complimented Jesse Eisenberg
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg just might be a Jesse Eisenberg fan.
Eisenberg, whose cousin works at Facebook, received a compliment on his Social Network portrayal from the young billionaire -- indirectly of course.
"My cousin sent me a text message telling me that Mark liked the parts that the movie got right and he thought I did a nice job," Eisenberg said during the Los Angeles Times' Young Hollywood roundtable Friday night at AFI Fest.
Zuckerberg had rented out a theater in Palo Alto, Calif. the day the movie was released and took all the Facebook employees to see the film. After it finished, Eisenberg said that Zuckerberg brought all the employees to a bar and drank appletinis like the characters did, at least according to his cousin

That's very cool. Zuckerberg seems like a neat guy although the movie might not portray him in this light

I still need to see Social Network. Eagerly awaiting for it to be at $2 theater. Already Wall Street is at $2 theater. I wasn't going to see it anyway.

I just found out that they are not showing Scott Pilgrim at my cinema anymore. That means I have to wait for the DVD. Guess I should have watched this instead of Social Network. Oh well.

No, I think you made the right decision. You'll enjoy it just as much on DVD. It's fun and silly, but it's not nearly as good a movie as "The Social Network".

I agree, I love Scott Pilgrim, but visually and artistically the Social Network was worth seeing in the theater over pilgrim. You'll be able to enjoy Scott Pilgrim the same on dvd as in theater:)
By the way, Just Me: I love your name in jello. i'm going to do that with my kindergartners for letter recognition

I saw it finally at the $2 theaters Sunday. Justin Timberlake was pretty good. I mainly like his music and his performance in Alpha Dog. I lost all respect for him though when I found out hes a cheater..

lol. I know what you mean but there is still something irresistable a bout him. I loved him in Alpha Dog too. I do not think Jesse Eisenberg will win a golden globe ( it will go to Firth) but its nice for him to finally get recognized. Definately has a chance for best director though I think.

Jesse Eisenberg is a great actor! Oh, BTW, each time I go to my OV theatre I have a nice chat with the owner about movies (obviously! LOL) and last time we happened to speak about Jesse and The Social Network and he accidently mixed him up with Michael Cera, because he thought Jesse was also in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World! I was like, "Sorry, Mister, you're wrong about that!" LOL
At the end we even talked a bit about Justin Timberlake and he said his voice in Yogi Bear is annoying. I said the only JT movies I have seen so far are Alpha Dog and The Social Network and in both I did not find his voice annoying. And well, I'm not planning to see Yogi Bear, so I guess I'll never know.

Isn't he BooBoo in Yogi? Both character have annoying voices. The cartoon was barely tolerable to begin with. Don't know why they thought it'd be a good idea to make a live action film.

I grew up with listening to Nsync. They were my first favorite band. I like Justins solo music too. He was one of my first real crushes.

Justin Timberlake is great in both Social Network and Alpha Dog. Nsync was never a favorite of mine, but I did like them better than the backstreet boys I heard Yogi Bear wasn't very good. IT got horrible reviews. I agree Deb, both characters were incredibly annoying, I never really liked the cartoon.
I did end up buying it this week. Can't wait to watch it later after the golden globes

I"m thrilled for Aaron Sorkin winning for best screenplay! I kind of assumed he'd win all the big awards this year. He's one of my heroes. Probably the best writer working in film/TV today.

I agree Deb! definately was excited for him, David Fincher, and Trent Reznor. Glad they recognized Jesse & Andrew but how could you win over Colin Firth in the King's Speech Happy it got best picture. Golden globes are usually good predictors for oscars. Do you think it will win an oscar too?

The Oscar contest is most definitely between The Social Network and The King's Speech. Not sure which way it will go though.

I know. Thinking it might go to The Social Network just because its more timely. Time period movies are always nominated but hardly ever win.

I want The King's Speech to win even though I haven't seen it yet, I just don't get why The Social Network was so successful at the Golden Globes. The music was totally weird, why did THAT win???
I mean, it's a good movie and I kinda like it but to me it's not Golden Globe or Oscar material ...

It's just a timely movie, Oscars & Golden Globes are all politically inclined. Mark Zuckerberg and facebook are the 'it' topics this year. I'm no expert, but I think that's why it won the Golden Globes and might when the Oscar. I actually thought The Fighter had a good chance too.
As far as the music, If you re-watch the movie, try listening to the music in a different way. It's definately an unusual score, I could see how some don't like it, but I think the way it is used enhances the movie experience. At fast parts you'll notice the speed of the music energizes the film, and then does the same for slow parts. It's funny. When I listened to the soundtrack at the bookstore I didn't like it at all! However,I love it in the movie. It adds so much to the pace and flow.

Yeah, it's probably that "it" thing and I've been so long on Facebook by now, I'm already past it. LOL
It's definately an unusual score
The first Twilight movie also has an unusual score and obviously noone ever cared about that one. Not that I'm saying the Facebook one sucks, but with music it's either you like it or you don't. Just sayin' ...
