I think Lowell looks awesome as a rocker!

Thanks for all the fun stuff to explore when I get home to my wonderful speakers.

Yeah, guess so. I was always lucky to have them financed by my medical insurance because the difference between both eyes was pretty big for a while. That changed over time, but now I can thankfully afford to pay for them myself. I guess some people also can't tolerate them that well. Like I said, I've been lucky. In more than one way. Sometimes I want a Star Trek universe where money doesn't matter that much. It sucks to have to watch friends not being able to afford things, while you yourself are living comfortably. hmm

Re: Graduation

I can't even wear contacts! sad
I once asked my eye doc (I know there's another word for this but I can't remember right now) about contacts and he said my eyes are too sick for contacts or I would need some special (and I don't doubt unpayable expensive) contacts. So I gave up that thought. I think I can live with my glasses.

Anyway, cool new stuff here. I wasn't online yesterday, but I had a very good reason. big_smile

Re: Graduation

You know what cracked me up? On the MySpace page of Chris L.'s band there's a link to their official site. And what you get there is a 10-minute video of the trip the guys took from Atlanta to Montreal. It's totally wacky, but I had to laugh out loud when someone asked Chris, "What did you do to prepare for this trip?" and he answered, "I masturbated a lot." lol

Re: Graduation

Well, that makes sense, doesn't it?  He had to get it out of his system since he couldn't do it on the bus with the other guys.  lol

Does he live in Atlanta?  Is his band here?  I forgot to go check out the MySpace stuff last night.

I don't know if Chris still lives in Atlanta. IMDb says he was born and raised there. But it seems like this buddies and band colleagues are from Atlanta, yes.

Hahaha. Sounds funny. I'm going to check out that later, I'm currently finishing Lost season 1. (Finally!)

Re: Graduation

Hahaha! Chris is great as Piz on Veronica Mars...it looks like his character is about to develop quite a bit more as well. He's one of my favorites on the show. Quite a funny guy, too smile

I caught a few videos of his band...I believe one of them is on YouTube. They're actually pretty entertaining.

Re: Graduation

Yay! Chris Lowell wrote back and said he talked to Chris M. and they're both fine with us using the pictures in the image gallery. So I put them in there just now.

I asked him about how Riley Smith said in an interview that while they were shooting the movie, the downtown area was dead after 5 PM and they'd meet to hang out in the hotel at night. This is what he answered: "We totally used to hang out in the hotel when the town would shut down. Usually we'd try to crash the weddings held every weekend on the top floor." smile

Brenna, I took the liberty to also forward your comment about Piz to him and asked him about Grey's Anatomy. Here's what he said: "The grey's thing is very exciting. I met everyone this week, and they're all incredibly kind and welcoming. Apparently there's supposed to be a lot of animosity on that show, but if there was, I didn't see it. Thank you for forwarding on that post about Piz."

And he congratulated us on our "very thorough site". Thank you. We aim to please.

Re: Graduation

Oh, and btw... This is where you can see Chris Lowell with his guitarist, performing the song "Anna Banana" (takes a while to load):
www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1eylnS0JdY

The guy's too funny! And he knows how to play the harmonica. And of course he can sing quite well too.

Re: Graduation

Not sure if this is reliable information or not since it comes from a poster at IMDb, but if it is, wow, it's all happening in the space of about two weeks in April:

GRADUATION will premiere on the big screen at the World Fest Film Festival in Houston, TX. The screening will be at the AMC theatres in Dunvale on April 24th at 5PM.

Wonder how much Airtran charges for a ticket to Houston...

Re: Graduation

Texas, here we come!! big_smile You think Chris will be there? Doesn't Tribeca start the day after that? Wow, April's gonna be a busy month. And this means that they're trying to sell the movie for a theatrical release, right? Great. More waiting for us. hmm But I'm glad something's finally happening with the movie.

Re: Graduation

The post on IMDb was by Brian Ralston, the composer of the film.  He says it's for real.  I asked where he got the info and this is what he said...

by bralston   1 hour ago (Mon Mar 26 2007 10:36:57)  Ignore this User | Report Abuse

UPDATED Mon Mar 26 2007 10:43:24

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Me. I am the composer of the film. I am kind of in a position to know. ;-)

2. You can look it up yourself on the World Fest Website at http://www.worldfest.org. See the schedule for April 24th.

Thanks guys for your support as this wonderful film finds its way. Hopefully we can all get the word out enough to sell out the Houston Screening.

Friggin' awesome!

Re: Graduation

PS: The flights are $127 each way from Atlanta to Houston and that's the week I'll just be coming back from the training trip to Iowa and we'll be using our new software at the office.  Even if the money fell out of the sky, I couldn't go.  sad

Re: Graduation

Yeah, sucks that you can't go, Deb. sad But at least we'll have Chris Fest 2007, even though it'll probably be without the Graduation DVD. I also e-mailed Matt Uhry and asked if he knew anything. He hasn't answered yet. I've been to Brian's MySpace account. I think I even posted that you can listen to some of the music from the movie on it.

Re: Graduation

It's gonna be shown digitally.  Smacks of a direct-to-DVD release to me if it's already digitally mastered and most of the other movies are showing in 35mm.  From the festival's website:

GRADUATION Digital MICHAEL MAYER  CALIFORNIA Tues 04/24 - 5:00pm
Things don't go according to plan when four lifelong friends decide to rob a local bank on their graduation day.

You can put a notice on the front page if you want.  Kinda tired of looking at the depressing AD thing anyway.

Can we continue with our mantra?

DIRECT TO DVD! DIRECT TO DVD! DIRECT TO DVD!

Deb, if you'da flown out there, I would have had a t-shirt made for you that woulda said "Graduation -- better to be seen on DVD soon" on the front, and on the back "Or else... Ve haff vays, you know". smile
