From the sounds of it, his part will be small at best. I hope we can managed to get a few good scenes, but sadly I don't have my hopes too high for this movie

My hopes were shot this morning when someone on IMDb finally answered my question about who he plays in the movie by saying that he couldn't remember the character at all so the part must be tiny.

Oh well, maybe we'll at least get some pretty red carpet pics for our troubles. I'm trying to find out what night the premiere is going to happen...

I went to my theatre today to see Black Swan and I spotted the movie poster hanging on the wall there. But then I asked the owner about when it's going to be shown there and he said it's not even likely that they will get the movie since the horror genre isn't really going well at the theatre. Oh, great. But based on what you said, Deb, I won't miss much anyway.
In other, BETTER news, there was also the 127 hours poster hanging there and this movie will VERY LIKELY be shown there, so you can guess where I will be the day they're going to start showing it!

They are only a small independent theatre and they get a lot of posters of movies they can't show in the end because there are no English copies available.

It must suck for them having to disappoint people all the time because the overseas distributors are just using them for promotion without providing proper prints.

Nah, I don't thinks that's the reason. It's just that they are an OV theatre for people who like their movies undubbed and Stuttgart has already a few American military bases who cover the horror genre already pretty good with their own theatres, so the Americans living here don't come to this theatre a lot for those movies. There are a lot of other movies that go very well, like family stuff for example. At least that's what the owner told me last night. And maybe Germans don't like undubbed horror movies that much. I mean, look at me.

OK, so the premiere was last night. And an assload of weirdly random people showed up, like Tony Shaloub, Carla Gugino and Tommy Davidson. Chris apparently decided to sit this one out, for whatever reason. Very fucking disappoing. :fedup:

I have no idea who Garla Gugino and Tommy Davidson are, but Tony Shaloub is a former co-star (Tic Code!!!), so he's not THAT random.
But Chris not being there is disappointing, yeah. Maybe he's not happy with the movie, either. Poor boy! He needs better projects! (Not that you all don't know that ...)

Actually, what I'm afraid of is that they have cut his part back so far (again) that he's pissed off at the director (again). That's really sad considering how excited he was when he signed on.

Carla Gugino was the lady scientist in Race To Witch Mountain. A bunch of other random people showed up too. Like Connie Britton from Friday Night Lights. And Charlotte Ross. And the kid from The Big C. Getty has a BUTTLOAD of images. Chris just wasn't there, it appears.

Yeah, maybe it's time for me to pull that "Open Letter To All Casting Directors In Hollywood" that I was working on out of mothballs. They all need a good bitch-slapping. Of course, if I was more of an optimist, I might wonder if maybe he just couldn't make the premiere because he's off shooting something somewhere. Alas, show biz has taught me to be a horrible cynic.

If Tommy Davidson is who I think he is, the best thing I can say about him is that he's no Chris Tucker. My deepest apologies to Mr. Davidson's fans.

I hope he's in "The Rite" long enough to recognize him, at least.

I talked to someone who was at the premier and they said Chris' role was "all of about 2 seconds." I'm pretty sure that was not a literal statement but disappointing, none the less.

Other than that, the review she gave was that it's just your typical exorcism movie, no more or less. I'll still go see it but all of the reviews and talk about this film from the get go has really diminished my expectations of it. ugh.

Yes, most of the reviews have been pretty tepid. I'll still go see it too. I'm really leaning toward the idea that once again, Chris's part got pared down to almost nothing. Really getting sick of that. :fedup:
