Post some pics that make you think of those actors as those characters, Mel.  That's part of the fun!

I like Nikki Reed for Julie...

I'm re-watching Medium from the beginning right now.  And one of my favorite aspects about the show is Allison's brother, Michael Benoit, played by Ryan Hurst (until S7 when they gave the part to David Arquette).  I adore Ryan, starting with Taken and now on Sons Of Anarchy as Opie.  He's amazing.  And BIG.  I found my Tom Cullen...

The more I think about this, the more I want to read it again!  LOL!  I first read it in about 1983.

Re: Come on down and meet your maker. Come on down and cast The Stand...

smile I've only read 'Different Seasons' and 'Desperation Nevada' by Stephen King.  Desperation Nevada was so trippy that I quit reading him! I loved his short stories in Different Seasons.  My brother has a book club, they just read Cujo and his fiance was balling at the end of the book.  So between that, Misery, and the Stand, I think I'll have a busy summer.

Re: Come on down and meet your maker. Come on down and cast The Stand...

Unless you're a really fast reader, The Stand just by itself might take all summer.  It's so loooooong.  And I only read the 800+ page version, not the one that's over a thousand pages.  One of these days, I'm gonna tackle the longer version.  I'm just such a slow reader because the only time I have for books is lunch and when I'm stuck waiting somewhere.  And lately, because I'm broke, I've been brown-bagging it and eating at my desk.  So I end up playing on the Internet instead of reading whatever book I'm in the middle of.  Sad.

This is why my goal for this year is to read at least 52 books. And I'm doing pretty good so far, I'm already at Number 12.

Nice work Samsy! I always try to read more, but traveling has made it difficult to carry books. But buses, trains, planes...all perfect for reading so I have read about 5 books so far. Ha, its quite terrible really. I usually read so much more. Oh and speaking of Stephen King. Dolores Claibourne! Such an amazing book. Its actually one of my favourites

Never read that one, but I couldn't make it through the movie.  Too brutal.  When he whacked her with that giant hunk of lumber, I turned it off.

Different Seasons is great. Read The Body 3 times already. The real movie title of that novella is Stand By Me, the best Stephen King movie in my opinion. I also love The Langoliers, IT, and The Stand. My mom has read The Stand. Im watching The Stand right now for the fourth time or so I think.

I agree that Stand By Me is the best SK adaptation ever.  It's amazingly perfect.

Stand by Me is my favourite movie of all time hands down, but when people start talking Stephen King...I always seem to forget it is a Stephen King adaption.

That is a GREAT goal.  I think I'm going to steal it from you Samsy! lol

Stand By Me is one of my favorite Stephen King adaptations too.  I of course love Misery and The Shining.  But I haven't read either book yet.

I tried going to borders to get the stand from their clearance sale. but it wasn't there. I did get the shinning though. I think my family has the rest all in hard back versions too.
