I'm planning on getting a Mac now. I hope they are more immune against all that stupid virus/trojan/worm/whatever crap out there.

Re: Randomness

I named my HP mini Carmen, because it's small, sexy and easy on the eyes. It was when I was finishing up my L word marathon (re). maybe we shouldn't name these things. Anne naming hers Cooper, got it infested with bugs. lol

Re: Randomness

My laptop's called Mackenzie (after a Star Trek: New Frontier character), and he's been surprisingly well behaved so far (even though the character is a bit of a renegade). (And I hope this didn't jinx it.) My desktop is still called Rove, and he's been unfaithful once or twice, but generally means well behaves itself.

Re: Randomness

I guess the new laptop will be called Bill. For the obvious reason. lol
But I'm not getting a new laptop yet, I've decided to go for a netbook first. I need something to go online from home since I can't stay at my parents's place forever and I don't know how long it'll take my brother to get healthy again ... I am not touching Cooper without his help. neutral

For the netbook I have several names to choose from, the final decision hasn't been made yet.

Re: Randomness

I love my netbook. I dont actually have a laptop. Just a shared desktop computer and my netbook. And i LOOOOOVE it. So small and so convenient. I pretty much only use the computer to go online as it is. I'm not a big gamer and any files I use for work were rather small, and then I added an external hard drive and it works fantastic smile But still no name...

I think that Anne naming her new computer Bill might lead to a future post "Bill is such a blood sucker! He'll suck me dry! my wallet that is, because he uses so much power and my electricity bill is getting sky high!"

Today was a disheartening day.  Lets keep fingers crossed that the school year doesn't end like the way today ended.  Two more days left until summer.

Re: Randomness

Today was a surprisingly good day considering the weather was cold windy. The kids have been great and we had a fun outing alking downtown to a play park and gym. Oh right. Gym always makes me happy no matter what the day. endorphine junkie here! big_smile I just put the kids to bed after sauna. I think one of our (Finns) better inventions is the "sauna icecream". something cool after something hot is always good. big_smile

I'm on my (about) 8th JOAthon. Found some good links online so of course I went for it. Only seen it on Youtube before. I've now seen all the episodes so many times, I actually don't really watch it, but listen and play soliaire. Still I see it play out in my eyes as I hear the words. haha. big_smile

Ahahahaha. I hope that won't happen!
But I kind of regret naming my old computer Cooper because he caught so many bugs, hahaha. I love that kind of humor. big_smile

The good news is, I finally bought a netbook. Part of that decision sucks though because most netbooks, including mine, only have the starter version of Windows 7 installed and upgrading means to invest more money. Well, I'll see how it'll work out and if it sucks too much I'll upgrade. Although I am still planning to buy a new laptop anyway, I just need to decide which one. Decisions, decisions!

I haven't decided yet what name the netbook will get, but I am thinking of naming it Travis after Chris's Miracles character.

And hey, in case you didn't notice, I am back online once again! I missed you! smile

Re: Randomness

I've got Windows 7 in this mini laptop. You mean this would work better if I upgraded it to something else? only if it's free....or relative to free. like super cheap. I might want to use my "nothing over 20€"-rule but "nothing over 50€" rule might work better for this short of buy. next you're telling me it's gonna take more. In some things being cheap isn't such a good thing..

Re: Randomness

Well, as far as I know, the upgrade is 75 €, which is definitely too much for me at the moment, but it the starter version really sucks I guess I'll be tempted to upgrade. I mean, you're not even able to change the background picture! How lame is that! And other users told me you don't even have Admin rights. WTF? No Admin rights? Who came up with that sh*t? yikes

Re: Randomness

yeah that sounds familiar. though with my laptop I'm most annoyed with my letter K not coming off properly, but that's a whole another problem. shouldn't eat over my computer. ahem. have to proof read everything three times to redo all the Ks... how to clean a laptop's keyboard?

Re: Randomness

The new Windows systems are really messy with the admin rights. Even in Windows 7, if you're logged in as administrator, you don't have all the admin rights. There's tricks to get around it, apparently, but that's only for the hardcore geeks. I mean, I get why they don't want to make the system accessible to the regular user who doesn't know jack about the inner workings of Windows, but I think it's preposterous to deny those users who would like to make tweaks access to their own, legal version of Windows.

And, yep, the Starter version pretty much sucks. Or so I've heard. Not that I have any firsthand experience.

Re: Randomness

Depends on the keyboard, I guess. My old laptop has a keyboard you can remove the keys very easily, but my dad's laptop's keyboard is totally different, I have no idea how to clean that keyboard.

Re: Randomness

Yeah, we've been noticing it too. No idea why, though. Could be spammers, could also be that someone's linked to something on our message board from another website. It's kinda hard to tell, but I have a feeling those aren't all Chris fans.

Ahahaha. Nice idea, but no. Hey, if I wanted my netbook to be related to my laptop once I bought it and the laptop is going to be named Bill, the netbook must be called Jessica, right? But somehow it didn't look like a girl to me. LOL

Re: Randomness

You should name your laptop after a Chris character, Samsy. My laptop is Adam Rove and the desktop is Jordan Catalano (from My So Called Life).
