A Note From Chris!

Guys, we got a spontaneous email from Chris today.  There's a couple of things I can share with you...

He says that he's been "off the radar for a while, for no other reason other than that's the way my life has seemed to guide me as of late."

In terms of all the little short films we've been finding on the web, particularly those he did with his friends (who I've nicknamed The 818 Gang), he says, "I wish I had more to report on any of those. We are still in a long, exhausting process of trying to get them produced by a network or website."

On upcoming projects, he says, "I may be working on a really cool film in September. The details are getting worked out now, so I'll let you know if it happens."

He also confides that, "I wish I had more to report other than, I am still plugging away at auditions, and living life."

And, finally, he adds, "The present you all sent for my birthday last year was extraordinary. It warmed my heart deeply."

:dancing:  big_smile  :applause:

Re: A Note From Chris!

Couple more things from his reply to my reply to him...

I asked if anyone got a photo of him with Amber on the House shoot and how he liked the role...

"I don't have any pictures of Amber and I unfortunately. It was great working with her again and being on that set. The part was a fun ride too."

I asked if he was still involved with Kid Cannabis...

"I am still attached to do it, but I haven't heard news on any movement with that movie in quite a long time."

He also revealed that the project he might be doing in September is a romantic comedy.  Yes!  big_smile

Re: A Note From Chris!

Wonderful news!  So glad that he got in touch with you!!!  I have to admit I've been a little concerned--just a feeling--that he might be going through a down period. Since I work a pretty mundane, day-to-day job I can hardly imagine what it's like to give so much of yourself to a project and then be kinda just hanging on, waiting, oh, and more waiting....and then nothing comes out of it.  I don't think my ego could take that!!!

All digits are crossed for the September project to come through for him.  He deserves a huge break!

Re: A Note From Chris!

Your concern was well-founded.  It's been rough since the writer's strike and almost-actor's strike of 2008 & 2009.  The former killed his project with Oliver Stone, Pinkville.  And the latter put Kid Cannabis into turnaround.  Those would've been great for him.  But he's working his way back.  When you think about it, he's done a ton of stuff the last couple of years.  It just hasn't been very high profile.  Every career has lulls.  He'll be fine. smile

Re: A Note From Chris!

Since I'm a "newbie" I was wondering, does Chris have access to posts to this forum???  Or can we just count on our fearless leaders to tell him how much we adore him and his work??? :dancing:

OH WOW!!!  I just realized I'm now cute lil horndog. :applause: for me!

Re: A Note From Chris!

Not sure if he actively does, but he can.  And he asked us a question that indicates that he has before.

Re: A Note From Chris!

I watched the tail-end of "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" the other day, and I figure that Shia LaBeouf, who I find to be an incredibly bland actor, has the career that Chris should have. IMHO, Chris is a much more engaging actor with way more charisma than the boring Shia.

At a certain part in your life. Probably when too much of it has gone by. You will open your eyes and see yourself for who you are. Especially for everything that made you so different from all the awful normals.

Oh gosh, don't even get me started.  tongue

I have gotten to the point where the mere sight of the Shiapet's face doesn't make want to vomit anymore.  Let's just leave it there, shall we?

Re: A Note From Chris!

How have I missed the new update from Chris?  Good to hear the news although he sounds very tired and hopeful.  Such a tough business to be in.  I couldn't imagine going to audition after audition.  Keeping fingers crossed for his new projects!

Re: A Note From Chris!

Sheldon, I'm with you there on the career comment. I'm not a huge Shia fan, but there's actors I consider a lot less skilled. I actually like Shia a lot in Disturbia. Eagle Eye was good too. I'm not gonna mention the latest Transformers movie, because that one seriously sucked balls. I have quite a tolerance for mindless action, but this was just too much.

Anyway, I digress. I should be talking about Chris. So, yeah, here's to hoping his career will soon take off the way he deserves. All it takes is that one role that will put him on the map. Come on, casting directors! Open your eyes and take a chance on our man!

And see this is what I always thought too!
