OK, that's America then. I think I've never seen a theatre that big around here. I guess the biggest ones here have 10 to 12 screens.

Biggest I've seen around here is 24 screens.  We've got two of those.

I think that in the Entire country of Finland there are only one or two theaters that have anywhere near 10 screens. most have one or two.

Kyle & Emily (soon to be Rankin) have gotten a puppy together.  How adorable is this?

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

I saw The Messenger tonight (in a tiny theater in Stornoway on the Outer Hebrides), and Ben Foster just blows me away every time. It was a very quiet but very intense movie. And I wish they'd give Chris a role like that some time.

I keep trying to catch that one on cable.  It looks excellent.  Glad you liked it.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

I love Paul, I'm glad he beat Shiapet out for the part.  I also love Richard Linklater, he's one of my favorite filmmakers.  BUT.  And it's a big, ugly but (butt?), I HATE Karl Rove.  In fact, I would even go so far as to say that Shiapet playing Rove would've been perfect.  Loathsome playing loathsome.  How do you beat that?

They'd have to pull a miracle with this one to make me watch it and root for that despicable piece of human slime.

Sounds more like it's gonna be an expose rather than a sympathetic portrait.  I can almost guarantee that no one will EVER make a movie about what a swell guy Karl Rove is.

smile  Don't know much about Karl Rove, but I could see Paul playing someone not so swell as you say smile   Saw Harrison Ford on Conan about 'Cowboys & Aliens.' And they BOTH only had GREAT things to say about him.  He was in a movie with Michelle Williams, Meek's Manor, that showed here in Dallas for a few weeks.  Wanted to see it but left the theater too fast!

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

How do you go from Toby Jones as Karl Rove to Paul Dano? That's some weird-ass casting if you ask me.

I've always thought that Constance Zimmer is a gorgeous woman. Loved her as Lilly and as Penny on "Good Morning Miami."

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

Yeah, I love her.  She's terrific.  She's in this last season of Entourage a lot.  She's been on the show almost since the beginning, but we'd usually only see her for one ep or a few little scenes here and there.  She's a big part of Ari's storyline right now.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

I don't know what came over me that I watched "Friends With Benefits" in the theater today (Justin Timberlake movie), but maybe it's just the fact that I felt I'd been watching way too many action movies lately and really needed something cheesy Rom-Commy. It wasn't exactly great or anything, but it was cute. I enjoyed it quite a bit, and I'm really looking forward to seeing Timberlake in "In Time" later this year.
