The world has lost one of its most creative geniuses today. Rest in peace, Steve Jobs. 1955 . 2011

Anyone who has ever used a personal computer (all of us) or ever loved a Pixar movie (I assume all of us) owes a serious debt to Steve Jobs. As I am typing here on my Mac, I can't imagine what the world would have been like if he hadn't lived.
The phrase that someone changed the world is thrown around way to easily, and it has kind of lost it's meaning. But Steve Jobs really did change the world.

God: Anti climactic. Anti-climatic means you're against the weather.

Totally agree, Rick! He packed more accomplishment into his 56 years than other so-called geniuses could pack into ten lifetimes.

Now I feel bad for admitting that I actually like my (Windows 7) laptop. I'm not anti-Mac per se, but I'm seeing Macs with a more critical eye. They may be excellent, but they're expensive and they have compatibility issues. Accessories are ridiculously expensive. And what's with not giving the iPad a USB port or any way to hook up an external storage device? Oh, wait, I know. Money-making! Cause people have to actually buy online hard drive space to store their stuff if the space the device offers isn't enough. I've successfully managed to avoid putting iTunes on any of my computers because it used to be un-intuitive (not that I've used it lately, but a colleague of mine only just recently complained about that very fact) and it was like the Borg of softwares because it kept integrating itself into wherever it could. I just don't like my computer to be taken over by stuff I don't need on there.
Anyway... yes, Steve Jobs was a darn genius and a very inspired man. But I heard also not especially nice to his employees, though that may just be a false rumor. At any rate, my heart goes out to the people he leaves behind.

There wouldn't be any Windows either without Steve Jobs, (not just because Bill Gates stole the software from apple), Steve Jobs was the one who came up with the idea of the personal computer. At that time, no one in the computer industry thought there was a market for small computers for individuals, they were all about mainframes. It was the apple II, which showed the industry that we all wanted a computer of our own, and opened the door for all of this.
