Hiya,
I think that Kevin should have gone back sometime and asked Barbie (from the drive-thru in the second episode of the first season) out. She was cute and friendly and nice. I really liked Beth. That poor girl went through a lot.
Kevin had an interesting way of choosing girlfriends. Rebecca, Kevin's boss from the newspaper and Lilly, a former nun. I love that argument between them when they crashed their cars into each other in the second season. Especially how that argument lead to their date. Speaking of the date...I know Kevin went through a lot, but I wish he would have just enjoyed the date and not brought up all that stuff and causing Lilly to walk out. Arrgggh! I cannot complain much, though, since I did the same thing on a date once. Sometimes it is just a little too soon to get back in the game after a breakup. Live and learn, I guess.
Once I think some more about it, I'd like to post my thoughts on the whole clown thing on this show. Joan mentions that she is afraid of clowns and they appear in Helen's dreams/visions.
The flowers are blooming here today, we have digital cable now and I have a job interview on Monday, so I hope your day is going good, too!

Hello Cab, welcome to our board.
Yeah, I think a date with that drive-thru girl (I just remembered, I used to call her the "fastfood lady"! LOL) would have been interesting. As for Kevin's girlfriends, I think I liked Rebecca the most. Don't know why.
Good luck for your job interview on Monday. I have one coming up too, actually. My day wasn't that good but thank God it's over now and I can enjoy a four-day-weekend because of bank holidays on Friday and Monday. Yay!
Happy posting here!

Hi Cab,
Nice to see you here. Thanks for coming over from IMDb.
My favorite Kevin hook-up is actually Beth, although I like Lily too. But I guess there was just too much emotional baggage between Beth and Kevin. She was definitely a cutie and seemed like a nice girl.
You two, good luck for your job interviews! Anne, spill! What kind of job interview you have? And when?
My day went okay, though I'm having back pain and hay fever issues. But you don't really wanna hear about any of that, so I'll shut my cake.

Hey Cab. Great to read your thoughts here!
I liked Lily best of Kevin's girls. I guess that's why TeeJay and I have them still together in our epic fic. I don't know, I just really enjoy the caustic type. She's just so funky and cool, with the tats and the jewelry and the attitude --- like she belongs in Venice Beach, CA not Arcadia, MD. And yet, she's broken on the inside. Love that! Give me a complicated character over someone boring and nice like Beth any old day.

Someone said something to me today and I answered "Unchallenged" without thinking.
One of the cool things, Deb, about Lily is that she looked so out of place living in Arcadia, Maryland. I wish they had explained why she lived in Arcadia. I have not decided on which one of the girls he dated are my favorite. My favorite actress was Sydney Tamia Portier. I really missed her when she was not in the second season.
It is too bad the show did not take Joan, Grace, etc on a field trip to Washington, D.C. Judith would still have had to be on the show, because she would have made the trip more fun. D.C. should be fairly close to Arcadia. God could have "popped" up as security guards, politicians, etc.
I hope everyone is feeling better!

Isn't "unchallenged one of the best all-purpose words ever? LOL.
And I agree it would've been fun if the gang had taken a trip to DC. All manner of entertaining chaos could've ensued. But God doesn't pop, "There's no popping." Heehee!
Cab, have you ever read the recaplets of JoA on TWop (Television Without Pity)? Man, they are hilarious and spot-on. Check them out if you haven't already:

Scroll to the bottom to start reading from the very beginning. They're kinda long, but so much fun to read. I used to print them out and take them with me on my lunch break. I saved most all of them into Word docs, so if it bugs you to read them onscreen at TWop and you want printable versions let me know an I'll email them to you. But it'll have to be Monday because I have them saved at work.

Oh, they're so hilarious, I love them! I think if you're a fan of JoA, you definitely should read them. Even the T&E one has something funny.

The recaplets are hilarious! I am reading the one from "Vanity, thy name is human".
Oh, I forgot..."There is no popping". hehe

Kevin and Lily were the best couple with Kevin. Lily seems like one of the most interesting people to meet, she was definately one of the most inventive characters on JoA.
