Re: Randomness

Happy Thanksgiving everyone in America!

I am thankful for family, friends, animals, womens rights activists, the military, being alive, rock music, Marilyn Manson, and Kathleen Hanna/riot grrrl movement. smile
What is everyone thankful for?

Oh you know, the basics: a roof over my head, a job, my sweet puppy dog, my friends, a reasonably pain free last few months.

Thank you! I defiantly had plenty of turkey and dressing for both of us! wink

Back to the grinder Monday. Can't believe how fast time goes! This break flew by... I keep telling myself 3 more weeks until the next break!  This part of the year always goes by fast.

Anyone attempt black friday?  I have to admit I found some great deals this year.

Re: Randomness

I use to be that way too Deb, but it actually wasn't that bad.  Of course I didn't go crazy early in the morning, I made most of the sales getting started around 11:00.  With the economy its not so much black friday anymore as it is black weekend! smile  I noticed they were having cyber monday today too for internet purchases.

Cyber Monday for online purchases? Oh dear. I don't need a day like that for my online shopping. I know I can shop online every day! LOL

Re: Randomness

the weather has been crappy here lately. very windy and rainy. where's the snow? yesterday it was -6c already but today it was over the 0 again, which meant...*drum roll*... raining sideways! again, instead of yesterday's few flakes. there's a big probability of black Christmas. In Finnish F*ing Lapland??!! not again. there were couple of black Christmases 5 years ago that we didn't get snow until dec 26th. damn... it really looked dark outside at 1pm because of the thick cloud. snow would make the cloudy seem more lit.

Re: Randomness

Super excited about my conference this weekend on Greek Myths and Writing.  I had to take a personal day tomorrow and Saturday but I definitely think it will be worth it!  Felt a little guilty scheduling the time off so close after thanksgiving and near Christmas break, but I really wanted to attend this conference!  I think it will be a nice break away from routine for a bit.

hmm? probably another fangirl gone crazy? Where's the Jersey from? big_smile stumbled upon this one when FB told me to friend this Kristopher Lemche character because we had Aaron HImelstein and Sean Marquette in common. is even this Kris real? in his info was listed his work experience, amongst which "JOA with Jersey Marquette and 3 others"

Re: Randomness

Nope, it's that same chick again, Maria.  This is her second time starting a KL page.  Eventually, she changed it to some other actor and then deleted it.  She's pretending to be about four different actors I know of on FB right now and keeps trying to friend me.  Don't friend Lemche or his brother Matthew or Lochlyn Munroe for starters.  The Marquettes lived in Jersey for a while when the boys were young and his mom's from there.  Guess this chick has gathered enough info on all of these actors to pretend to be them.

Re: Randomness

yeah I figured the real Kris Lemche probably wouldn't put all those actors as his brothers and sisters. childish things. but I accidentally clicked "friend" button and now can't find the unfriend button. wtf? I imagine some attention seeking fangirl could set up dozens of actor profiles and friend them all together, etc. how boring must one's life be to do all that?

I don't get what's so great about pretending to be a celebrity on the internet. This chick needs a season ticket to funny farm.

Re: Randomness

No kidding.  It's ridiculous.  I wonder what satisfaction they get from pretending.... people have too much time on their hands!

I guess everyone is out tonight.  Can't seem to reach anyone!  Oh well.  I guess a night in is needed for once.

Re: Randomness

After the crazy-fun, very intense Friday and Saturday morning I had, I'm happy to be home recovering tonight.  I'll post more about it when I have more energy, but my company had our Christmas outing at the Ritz-Carlton on Reynolds Plantation at Lake Oconee.  It started at 8 AM on Friday and ended this morning at 11 AM.  A total blast. I will be posting pics over the next few days.  I'm beat, but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

I heard catfish was good for the very reason you're talking about.  I need to put it on my netflix queue!

That conference was totally worth it but very draining.  I am not mentally prepared to go into work tomorrow. Where did the weekend go!

Re: Randomness

whoopsie! big_smile I guess it's been stormy or at least windy for you lately. here, we've FINALLY got snow! big_smile and proper negative celsius for a change. can't believe I'm actually happy about winter starting, but snow does make this dark world a bit brighter. this looooong fall has sucked all the energy out of me.I do actually like it when it's mildly freezing, like -5 to 0, or on a good weather I might even like -10 or -15. the air feels so fresh! and really, it does refresh big_smile

what else is new.. hmm. my school is going well. got an A from last... uh... section would be the word to word translation. the school year is cut in five sections. last one was mechanical drawing and Autocad. now it's all about renovation building. been writing 6 full dys into our notebooks about all the materials, and now my notebook is full. just in time. teacher says we're done writing. now we're doing. well, tomorrow we're seeing, as in we'll go visit one house factory. heh. we get too see the materials and a bit of the building process. maybe some designing assistents at work. I've got a little grudge to this firm, since they so bluntly turned me down last fall when I asked to be a padawan there. but i do like their work. and smell of freshly cut wood and other construction scents have always made me kinda happy and inspired. a bit of a high actually. yup, weirdo here big_smile
