So.....finally started this from the beginning....I've read some short fan fics and bits and pieces here and there, but never really read through your epic novel from the beginning. Since I asked you to read some of my stuff, felt it would be nice to finally read the big one through. Love how it starts...love Adam all angsty. Only got through four chapters but will keep going as time allows. Though mine does have some Adam and Joan romancy stuff in it, yours pretty much grabs it from the start....kind of love that. My goal was always to get Adam and Joan back to being in love. Never thought the show should have gravitated away from that, personally. Will continue my thoughts as I go.

We were pretty much concerned ONLY with the relationship. God's still around, still giving assignments, and Joan does pull Adam into them eventually. But we just never had any interest in dealing with the whole Ryan saga. Plenty of other writers went there, so we had no need. For me, Butterflies became a thing because I was soooooo tired of other fics that either marginalized Adam, hated on him and made him weak, or sent him off to be Bonnie's baby daddy. Ack! All I ever wanted was to right the 'ship. So that became what Butterflies was about.

And I will get back to reading your stuff.

If you weren't into the Ryan saga, then you might actually not appreciate my stuff. Sorry. If you want to bale on it, its okay. Just might not be your cup of tea. But I promise, I don't marginalize Adam because I really cared about him as a character. He's very, very important to my story. It's as much, if not more so, about him than Joan. Well, it's about both of them and I was also very concerned with them having the love story that I felt was robbed from them. I really was trying to take what I understood about the two years they gave us and continue the story...well...seven years later. Adam does go through a lot of bad stuff along the way, but in the end he is strong and becomes kind of a hero.

I very much loved how yours began. Always thought that together or not, Joan would always have a deep love for Adam and would always be there for him no matter what. They just belong together; enough said.

Wow, so just read some more and I want you to know that I wrote mine before I read yours but we both obviously had the same idea about something and it's kind of weirdly awesome. Just don't want you to think I stole any ideas from you. I'm going to leave you in suspense because I don't think you've read that far yet. Anyway....

Love the moment when Joan tells Adam about God....very moving. Love that Papa Girardi gave Adam such a hard time though I don't really believe that he'd have a problem with Adam and Joan. Just love the moment....you know, cuz dad's are supposed to grill their daughters suitors that way. Funny.

Yeah...just that small little thing of Adam giving her his mothers ring. I wanted him to give something of value to her before he went away and I don't really know what made me think of his mothers engagement ring. Just thought it was a nice idea, I guess. Just found it interesting that when your version of Adam gives Joan a ring, it's his mothers as well.
