An Interesting selection of Golden Globes nominations this year. I don't know what to think! The three that stood out to me were JGL for 50/50, Johnny Galecki for Big Bang, and Madeline Stowe for 'Revenge' (it's actually a great show!)

They should have nominated Nelsan Ellis for True Blood. He was AMAZING in Season 4.

I agree Anne! Not many of the nominations this year thrill me. I'm happy for Kyle Chandler of course, but since he already won the Emmy, I don't expect him to win the Globe too. And I am THRILLED for American Horror Story getting nominated for Best Drama. It can't win, of course. It's too insane. But it's awesome that it got nominated.

I'm watching. Not much to get excited about so far. Homeland won best drama, which is cool. It's a great show, way better than I thought it would be. But I was rooting for American Horror Story.
OK, now I'm happy Jessica Lange won for AHS. She rocks!

I'm a little behind since I started it 45minutes into the program. THat's awesome to hear about Jessica Lang! I was rooting for American Horror Story too. A lot of these shows I do not know since they are HBO, showtime, etc. Homeland only is getting good praises - glad the actor from Game of Thrones won. He's in sooo many roles and its good he was recognized.
Glad Mildred Pierce won, I love Kate Winslet and I loved the 1940s version of Mildred Pierce. One of my favorite movies.

Nicole Kidman is so tiny... Glad Woody Allen won for Midnight in Paris - I've loved the films he's done these past few years - Match Point and Vicky, Christina, Barcelona.

Kind of an uneventful evening...
It would be interesting to see how many awards went to those affiliated with fox searchlight and showtime. Aren't they also affiliated with NBC?

CBS, actually. At least Showtime is. That's why Moonves got a shout-out. I wasn't thrilled or surprised by much either. Jessica Lange's win and Claire Danes are the only ones that mean anything to me since I love both of those shows.

I missed the beginning, but I watched at least part of it. Was glad for Midnight in Paris and The Help, but I got to say, last year was so much more fun. This year it was kinda lame. Just my opinion, though.

I agree - the movies that are nominated I felt were mediocre compared to years before. I feel like tv these days are much better. I was happy Jessica Lang acknowledged such great writers for American Horror Story because its gotta be the most interesting material out there. The Oscars are going to be interesting.... we'll see what happens!

Terribly sad though that next year, AHS has a completely different haunted house and characters. I loved that bunch of nuts!

I feel the same way! Although I'm actually interested in Albert Nobbs now that I know Pauline Collins is in it. I adore that woman. I really don't have much of a stake in any of the nominees though. I'd like Aaron Sorkin to win again for Moneyball because I love the movie and he's one of my screenwriting heroes.

I haven't seen most of the movies nominated. Really hope Help and Marilyn win though!

I second that Mel, i haven't seen most of them either actually. I hear performances for Marilyn were amazing and the Help is good.
I was disappointed that Ryan Gosling wasn't nominated for Drive amazing performance and fantastic movie if you haven't seen it. I know he was nominated for a golden globe for ides of march, but I actually never saw that one.

I loved Zach Galafanakis and Will Ferrell's intro on stage Glad Man or a Muppet won. That was a cute movie
And of course Christopher Plummer and Wood Allen winning best screen play.
Jonah Hill really could never beat Christopher Plummer. Did you ever see The Last Station? Amazing movie!

The only good award for me so far was seeing Bret McKenzie win for the Muppet song. He's half of Flight of The Conchords, who I just adore. Woohoo!
