This doesn't deserve it's own thread, so I figured we could have thread for all the weird, old stuff we might run across. So I'm flipping channels and I land on the Disney channel and there's Chris in Up, Up & Away --- a very goofy looking kids movie from 2000. So he looks like first season Marc. The scene I just saw was pretty funny. He was trying to convince the bad guys he has super-powers. It's almost the end of the movie, but he's doing the hyper-kinetic thing. You know where he's almost overly talkative and kind of a wise-acre. Such a cotrast from his later work. The coolest thing is that one of the bad guys is played by Kevin Connolly. He plays Eric ("E") on one of my very favorite shows, Entourage. I've always had this little daydream about Chris playing himself on that show. Now, it doesn't see so far-fetched.

I catched some part of the movie once on TV, but it was - of course - in German so I did not really pay attention to this, I just realized that it was a movie with (a younger) Chris.

Wow, I'm kinda glad Chris didn't get the Dylan part in this movie now...
Dylan Threatens To Sue Over 'Factory Girl'
Bob Dylan has launched a legal battle to prevent a movie based on the life of Edie Sedgwick, a member of Andy Warhol's Factory, from being released. The movie Factory Girl, is scheduled to be released by The Weinstein Company on Dec. 29. According to initial reviews of the movie, it implies that Sedgwick's death came after she plunged into heroin addiction after Dylan broke off his relationship with her in the late '60s. In the film, the Dylan character, played by Hayden Christensen, is named Danny Quinn and is supposedly based on several men Sedgwick knew prior to her suicide in November 1971. But Orin Snyder, Dylan's attorney, maintained that the Quinn character defames his client. (Christensen reportedly wears a scarf similar to the one Dylan wore on his Blonde on Blonde album.) "You appear to be laboring under the misunderstanding that merely changing the name of a character or making him a purported fictional composite will immunize you from suit," Snyder said in his letter. "That is not so."

Oh yeah, I read this on the imdb boards, because I was looking for a trailer. And I am also glad that he didn't get the part, not only because of that, I also think he's too young for that role at the moment. If they waited a few years, he would have been perfect, though.

Well, Chris already had one of his movies cancelled on him. Or at least one that we know about. Probably two, if you cound "My Tutor", but that didn't get cancelled while it was already shooting. I'm talking about "Revenge of the Nerds", of course. But let's bury that dark chapter in his acting career and move on. TV guest role, anyone?

There's nothing on the horizon, I'm afraid. He's enjoying his first break in years right now. He would still do a TV guest role it if it was dramatic and interesting, but he's in no hurry to rush into anything right now. And for now, he will NOT do another regular part. He said there was something that he was asked to audition for but he said no.
On a related note, he was shocked that the program for the con said he had 6 films releasing in 2007. Not bloody likely. I think we'll be lucky to see the three we know about.
I did gently express our frustration at not seeing him as often as we'd like. I think he understands. But we can't begrudge him this time off.

Question,
If I wanted to make it out to some of the festivals where would I need to look to get information on them? I am all for taking trips, any help would be lovely.
Cheers!

We will post up anything we can find about future con appearances here as soon as we find out. There is no set schedule for them just yet, but Chris said they were doing "a bunch" of them over the summer. Stay tuned.

The other day someone was posting on IMDb if he or she was the only one who thought Chris looked like Shia LeBeouf. I dare say yes, because Chris looks nothing like him. And then, when I was updating our Filmography page, I found that Shia played the kid with Duchenne Muscle Dystrophy in the ER episode Chris was a guest star on, years ago. They were even in the same storyline, Chris's character Marty had pushed him down the stairs.
And just now I'm uploading Brenna's Even Stevens screencaps (thanks, they're great!), and lookie here:
It's Shia again! Another actor to add to the list of those that Chris has worked with repeatedly.

Another trivial tidbit: on SNL, Chris Farley is Santa. He was one of the stars of Tommy Boy.

Dude, is it? Could it be? Is this the very same Pimp Daddy jacket from FX? Has he really had it THAT long?

I'm actually a huge Shia fan, and have been since he's Even Stevens days. I used to work on a website for him, which has since closed (I think). I lost touch with the webmaster. Another Shia and Chris are connected is that they both dated Margo Harshman. Shia dated her after meeting her on the Even Stevens set, probably about two years before she started dating Chris.

You know I had exactly the same thought when I was looking at the FX pictures for the first time. I was like "That CAN'T be that jacket!" But of course I don't know that for sure.

Look at this pic again:
I bet it's the same jacket because the sleeves are somehow way too short. It might have fit him better as a teen. Chris, go buy some new clothes, for God's sake!
And every time I look at Sam with his tongue stuck to the light saber, I have to chuckle. It's truly a great, dorky picture!
Oh, and I realized today that Jaime King is spelled Jaime and not Jamie. Just for the record. I corrected it in the FX Con report, the news on the front page and wherever else I could find it.

I think it is the same jacket. It's really worn out now, but I thought he bought it that way. You know how people pay ridiculous amounts of money for "distressed" clothes?
And the sleeves are not too short. It only looks like it in that pic because he's got a bulky hoodie on underneath it. When he was wearing it over a normal shirt, the sleeves were the right length.

I just found the intro for that animated series "The Kids From Room 402" where Chris did voicework on:

He lent the brown-haired kid in the blue suit his voice, Arthur Kenneth Venderwall.

Some of Tinseltown's most popular young stars will trade the Hollywood hills for the hills of Boulder this August, and it could be just the start of an unlikely new annual infusion of celebrities there.
Jamie Wollrab is coming home from Los Angeles to direct a play in Boulder, and he's bringing along pals Chris Klein, Justin Chatwin and Chris Marquette to star in it.
Haven't heard of them? Ask your kids. After they stop squealing.
