Kilimanjaro

Hope it's bigger than an indie and has a nice meaty role for Chris.  No real info available yet.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2385119/

Just this...

Kilimanjaro

Brian Geraghty plays a man who is determined to climb Mount Kilimanjaro after a recent breakup.  Variety says Alexia Rasmussen will play his longtime girlfriend “who finds it hard to completely cut off contact with him despite their separation.”  Abigail Spencer co-stars as Geraghty’s receptionist and crush.  Walter Strafford is directing Kilimanjaro from his own script. Ryan Piers Williams and Jason Michael Berman are producing.

I guess Chris will be the best friend.  Again.  But it'd be cool if he goes along on the climb.  At least he'd be in it a lot.

Re: Kilimanjaro

The movie has a Twitter, and they posted a photo with Chris today. Yay! smile

I found another image on Ryan Piers Williams' Twitter:

IMDb now says Chris plays Mitch. Which doesn't tell us much, does it?

Sweet!  I bet Chris is the main guy's best friend.  I just hope he also goes on the climb.

Re: Kilimanjaro

Also, the street scene looks kind of New Yorky. Or maybe Chicago.  Seems too tight to be LA.

Re: Kilimanjaro

Yep, New York.  See that black store awning that says Zoland?  That's Zoland & Sons Jewelers.  It's Midtown Manhattan.  Damn, I'm a good detective!   wink

Re: Kilimanjaro

Very cool - looking forward to it - good plot.  Reminds me of Into the Wild, with Emile Hirsch - although he hasn't done a lot since, Emile got a lot of good credit for that movie so hopefully this one will do the same for Chris.

Re: Kilimanjaro

The early stages of following a film are always kind of frustrating.  Maybe it won't be so bad this time, with Twitter and all.  We might get to see some fun goodies here an there during the production.  Especially if they really do go to Africa.  How can they resist tweeting about that?!

Re: Kilimanjaro

YES, Chris plays the best friend:

Chris Marquette ("The Girl Next Door"), Diego Klattenhoff ("Homeland") and Jim Gaffigan ("It's Kind of a Funny Story") have joined the cast of indie drama "Kilimanjaro," which Walter Strafford is directing from a script he wrote.

John Cullum ("All Good Things"), Bruce Altman ("Arbitrage"), Adam James ("Band of Brothers"), Henny Russell ("You Don't Know Jack") and Val Emmich ("Ugly Betty") have been tapped to round out the ensemble. Brian Geraghty stars alongside Alexia Rasmussen and Abigail Spencer.

Strafford's debut feature finds Geraghty playing a man who, stuck in a routine job and a stagnant relationship, sets out to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro with his best friend (Marquette). Facing challenges from every direction, protag struggles to make his way to the mountaintop.

"Kilimanjaro" is a production of RPW Prods. and Taggart Prods. in association with TideRock Films, Gordon Bijelonic/Datari Turner Films and MindSmack Prods. Ryan Piers Williams and Jason Michael Berman are producing with Thomas B. Fore, Kwesi Collisson, Gordon Bijelonic and Datari Turner. Exec producers are Tim Chonacas, Ruth Mutch, Todd Feuer and Kevin Stanford.

Pic will begin filming in and around Brooklyn this week.

Re: Kilimanjaro

Yay, Chris goes on the climb!  That's what I wanted to hear.  Means he'll have a significant part.  Just hope he doesn't die.  I still wanna know if they're going to the real mountain or what.

Re: Kilimanjaro

click here if you want to know more about the producing duo behind this film. The interview was made in december so it doesn't have anything on Kilimanjaro yet, but it's a bit interesting.
