What inspired the name Eleanor?  I like that name.

Re: Randomness

One of the heroine's in Jane Austen's Sense & Sensibility, one of my favorite books.  I wanted something British.... She'll be nick named 'Ellie.'  Trying to dog proof my apartment tonight!  Pray or send good thoughts for safe travels for her!

Re: Randomness

Awesome.  I like that story, too.  My favorite Eleanor/Ellie is Ellie Arroway in the movie Contact.  One of my top 5 all time fave movies.  If (and it looks good) I adopt Polly, I think I might change her name.  But no name has jumped out at me and said, this is the one for her.  If one does, I'll change it.  If not, I won't.  It's weird that I have two pets currently that I did not name.  Dixie came to us with that name and my mom liked it.  I'm not crazy about it and mostly call her Doose, which evolved from "my little deuce coup", the Beach Boys song.  She has many nicknames, and of course I only call her Dixie when she's in trouble.  So far, I find myself mostly calling Polly "Pah-Pah", which is just lame.  At first, I fell into Polly-Wolly and then, Polly-Wolly-Doodle-All-Damn-Day, because I'm weird.  Obviously, she needs a better name.  Heh. tongue

Re: Randomness

I guess if I got a pet right now, I'd name it Jaime for a boy or Sansa for a girl. For the obvious reason. lol (Those are names from the A Song Of Ice And Fire books. Or the Game Of Thrones show, if you don't know the books. Jaime is my favorite character. Sansa not that much, but I like the ring of that name.
I still dream of getting a new pet when I finally get a new job and can move out of my current apartment. I definitely want to adopt. It's probably going to be a cat, not a dog, though.

Re: Randomness

I finally met my favorite rockstar and bassist! Marilyn Manson and Twiggy Ramirez! It was best time of my life! I got hugs from both, 3 pictures, 2 autographs, 1 drawing, and Manson flirted with me and kissed my hand and ear. I sat on Twiggys lap and got spanked by Manson too! I just need to wait for pictures by email. wink

lol that's great.  Crazy guys.  Looks like you had a good time!

I love my dog --- we were meant to be.  so nice having something to come home to today.  Her aunts, uncles and grandparents came to visit while I was at school - she's definitely a popular girl.

Re: Randomness

Elinor, a friend and I went on a walk to see the trick or treaters.  She was a little scared at first but warmed up quickly.  She certainly slept all night long!  woke up about 4:15 this morning though.

I'm ready for Friday!

I'm gonna watch that one too, but it's only released in Germany at the end of November. So no spoilers, please. smile

Re: Randomness

It's a video game turned into a horror movie. I've not played any of the games, but the first movie was just the right kind of atmospheric and scary. It's not the splatter kind of horror movie, more the psychologically scary one. I mean, there is blood too, but I thought it wasn't overdone.

Re: Randomness

Is that the one with Kit Harington? I actually considered watching it, but my cinema isn't exactly successful with horror movies, so I doubt they'll have it. Also, they would probably show it in 3D anyway and also, I am not sure if I can endure Jon Snow from Game Of Thrones in a horror movie ... it would would probably haunt me forever when I'm watching the show. lol

Yes and his character is part of twist in plot and the main girl looks like Michelle Williams and shes girl from first movie except older. Its much better than original.

Re: Randomness

Interesting... I'll have to look into this movie....

BTW.... Elinor and I are AMAZING! All that waiting and searching paid off.  She's my doggy soul mate.  Although she will need lots of attention.  I took her on 5 walks yesterday and today all totaling about 5 hours.  Thankfully I live in a very walkable neighborhood full of restaurants, parks and activities for her.  Very dog friendly too and she's really warmed up to the neighborhood.  I'm going to miss her tomorrow while at work.  sad
