The Host (Stephanie Meyer's other book+movie)

just came by quickly to post this trailer. not sure if there was another thread for this or if I should have put this on the Twilight thread?

http://youtu.be/vurQBnGhlgQ

I read the book right around when it came out and liked it. Maybe more than I ever liked Twilight. come on, it's body snatching aliens! so much better than vampires on glitter! big_smile this trailer looks pretty good for me but maybe marketed a bit too much like Twilight. the poster and trailer kinda have the same feel to it.

Not sure if I'm gonna see it, I tried reading the book once, but I gave up on, like, page 2 or so. Just not my thing.

Re: The Host (Stephanie Meyer's other book+movie)

I read the book a while ago, and I really had trouble getting into it. But once you're past the first, oh, hundred pages or so, it gets way better. Except for the ending, which I found lacking again a little. I had more fun reading the Twilight books, I must admit, but the movie trailer looks pretty good. Definitely something I'm gonna keep an eye out for next year.

I also have the audio book of The Host, which I bought on a trip to US where it was on sale. Must admit I don't like the reader at all. She had this annoying habit of raising her voice at the end of every sentence. Don't think I wanna listen to it again. Next time I'll know better and listen to a sample first before I buy something.

the only good thing about the ending was the "I held you in my hand and you were beautiful"-kinda line. kinda romantic. if you don't think how creepy it is. lol
