I got an average grade in the extra curricular Science. Professor was a good person but such a horrid class.

sciences & math always got to me Mel - A's in everything else accept those, even the 'cop out' classes were still hard for me in those areas. I'm just a humanities girl
Deb - awesome about the car! your weekend did sound busy, hope you catch up on rest. We have 10 days until winter break, and I AM READY!!!

Hey guys, in case you noticed I was gone for two weeks, it's because I am currently working the late shift at my new job at this, uh, how am I going to say this ... "very well-known online mail-order-business company". I think you can guess where I work now. LOL Around Christmas it gets really busy because people order like crazy. It's a lot of fun, too, though and I am happy to have this job, although it means a lot of stress for me at the moment. I hope to be able to come back more often after christmas.

Good to hear about the job! Busy is always a good thing!
Pup is finally sleepy after 3 hours of playing and 2 walks. I actually wanted her to stay awake. She wakes up in the middle of the night; that wakes me up...we play... then she and I are both upset when we have to be up early to walk her before work!

That's great Mel! My sister & brother in law got me the extended dvd set of LOTR in blu ray a few years ago for Christmas. I'm excited about the Hobbit too, although I heard thousands of animals died while making the movie

That's a gross exaggeration, Mel. NO animals died during the making of the movie. Twenty-seven animals died at the ranch of their owner AFTER filming was over. That's the whole thing. Still sad and awful, but good god the lies you read on the Internet.

lol - should have known better...well that doesn't suprise me considering the source I heard it from. My siblings are known to exaggerate. he he.
Cappugirl - I was stupid to try to go to the mall saturday for an errand. after not being able to find a parking lot for 30minutes & all valets full I turned around. It was a mad house. Definately staying away. I decided to skip church and go while everyone was at church. That's the bible belt for you!

Sorry, don't know why I thought Mel said that. I'm out of it today. Actually was home sick. Tonight, I've got Mickey over for the first of 4 nights. There's been some teeth baring between him and Polly but nothing has broken out. Trying to get them to ignore each other.

It looks like I'm gonna have to move in February. I was really hoping that if I were to move it would be to another state and / or country, I just don't see that happening right now oh well, I hate to leave, I love where I am now, I can just barely afford the rent as it is now. Moving is the worst....

It was wonderful for part 1! Better than the book and best Tolkien adaptation thus far in my opinion!

AWESOME! Can't wait to see it! We have 2 more days until winter break
Any tips to save money? I am in a major financial bind.... Thankfully I found a place in Lakewood (a Dallas neighborhood) for about $400.00 less than what I'm paying now, so that will help come March.
Also, a friend passed last week, his funeral was today. He won a plane ride at an auction over the city of Dallas. It crashed just outside of Dallas, my friend and the pilot passed. Fisher was married with two kids, always a nice guy. Known him since elementary school, we were neighborhood friends. Please keep his family and children in our thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Mel...
Winter break is finally here. I spent most of the day sleeping yesterday, end of semester fatigue. But I did go see 'The Hobbit' I enjoyed it but not as much as I did Lord of the Rings. I was a little antsy and tired though, so if I get a chance to see it again I might just to see if being in a better mood will help.
Elinor woke me up early today to go outside so I put on my Lord of the Rings movies, it's unbelievable how good those movies are. I have a deep connection with them for some odd reason, they were the first films I really enjoyed so much (like the way my brothers talk about seeing Star Wars for the first time in theaters! ) that's kind of how LOTR was for me!
I did see the Man of Steel preview and I cried! Can't wait!

Interestingly, I also rewatched the first two LOTR movies yesterday, in preparation of seeing The Hobbit again. Having now seen it in both 3D and 2D, I must say I liked the 2D version a lot better. I felt 3D took more away from the story than it added.
After LOTR, people tend to have very high expectations, and I think sometimes they forget The Hobbit is more of a children's book, thus the overall lighter tone of the movie. But I'd have to agree with you that I also liked LOTR better, probably because somehow it felt more grown-up.

I haven't seen The Hobbit yet, but I'll see it on Wednesday. It's my last day off and probably my last chance. And I WANT to see it in the theatre at least once. The new job makes a "normal" life kinda impossible at the moment. *sigh* And I am going to see the normal version because I can't see 3D anyway.

I agree that the Hobbit is definitely more of a children's book and not as technical as LOTR. I remember my brothers reading it to me at a young age and watching the cartoon on pbs! I think people actually like The Hobbit because the story is more simplistic in nature compared to LOTR. I agree too that the 2D is just fine, the 3D is pretty and all but not necessary.

3D is overrated anyway. Not only because I can't see it. Even if I could see it, I'd still think you don't need to make every movie you make in 3D just because you can. 2D movies are also great.
